closest vacation home to disney

most vacation homes advertise that there are the closest to wdw, but does anyone know which ones are really the closest and cheapest under $125.00 per night?

For a location map of the subdivisions near Disney CLICK HERE It's a teeny weeny outdated because it still has Windsor Palms listed as Wyndham Palms.

I prefer the area West of Disney near Splendid China. The route to Disney on 192 makes the ride only about 5 to 10 minutes to the gate.

Rates depend a lot on the type of house you want and the time of year you choose to travel.

Its a good map although some of the communities along the 27 are wrongly placed -HR is south of The Palms Lake Davenport and if anything the communities on the east side of the 27 Esprit -Hampton Lakes are too far south altogether

It's hard to beat the Formosa Gardens area for genuine proximity. But, with so much development now out on Highway 27, you will find much greater choice (and price) out this way. I recently stayed in a house on a development called Glenbrook (going north from 192 on the 27) and found it only a 15-minute drive in via Black Lake and Sherberth Roads (into Disney via Animal Kingdom). But, with traffic, it could easily be double that. Developments south of 192 on Poinciana (like Cumbrian Lakes, Indian Point) may seem further out but are well worth considering as the traffic is much less out here (and via Osceola Parkway).

As Tinkerbell flies, the closest is Emerald Island in a straight line to Animal Kingdom...very closely followed by Formosa Gardens and Oak Island Cove....These are off Formosa Gardens BLVD...figure 7 to 9 minutes to AKingdom via Sherberth Road from any these 3 as they all end up on Formosa Gardens Blvd to 192 to Sherberth....
As Tinkerbell flies is not really relevent unless.......well, unless you and Peter can fly from your window to AKingdom....

Hi..about a 1 1/2 miles farther south than Emerald Island on Lake Wilson Road...not a bad drive at all....Ted
