We are going to Disney and need to book a hotel just for arrival night (no more roooms onsite at the hotel we are staying at are available that first night). What is the closest hotel to Disney Springs? I think we would like to walk over and have a nice dinner that first night!

All Disney Springs hotels are walkable so I would pick which brand and price works best for you.

Hilton would be closest but not at top of my list (even though we are Hilton Diamond).
I've stayed in most of them; Hilton, B Resort, Doubletree, BVPalace and what is now Wyndham.

Favorite is Doubletree (farthest) and B Resort (not far). Holiday Inn gets good reviews.

I avoid Wyndham (no rehab can fix room size), Best Western (needs rehab) and Hilton (way too many fees for a hotel greatly needed rehab).

Thank you...I appreciate it! My main concern was being too far away and having to get there... parking was a nightmare in December last year!

@writerguyfl has a map with distance, hopefully he'll post. We don't mind any of the walks and there are pedestrian walkways to cross the street so very safe. So I pick a hotel I want to stay at.

I don't have maps with exact distances, but I have some random information from past replies I've made to similar threads.

Here is the overview of the seven hotels and their relationship to the Marketplace section of Disney Springs:

Using the Measure Distance tool on Google Maps, I calculated the walking distance between the Marketplace at Disney Springs to the DoubleTree Suites (which is the furthest hotel):

While it is a decent distance to walk, the path is landscaped and separated from the road:

I agree with HopperFan. The DoubleTree Suites is the best of the bunch. I've stayed there probably 60+ nights in the past few years and never had more than a minor problem. I'm talking a missing iron or coffee that didn't get replaced. Those issues were solved with a 30-second phone call.

Closer to Disney Springs is the Holiday Inn Disney Springs. I've stayed there a few times and had above-average experiences. It's a solid 3-star hotel with great employees. During my last visit, I had two different managers approach me while I was waiting in the lobby to ask if everything with my stay was satisfactory.

I echo HopperFan's opinion of the Hilton Lake Buena Vista (listed as Hilton located in the Walt Disney Resort on the map). It's decidedly average in both the physical building and the staff. I'm guessing I've stayed 40ish nights and often had big problems. Stuff like a broken toilet that took 3 calls over 2 hours to get fixed and being woken by landscapers using leaf blowers before 7am. Personally, I only consider staying there if the total rate including resort fee is under $110/night. That said, it's not horrible and you may get lucky and have an uneventful single night stay.

I can't comment on the B Resort, as the last time I stayed there it was a different brand. I do have a reservation there in November.

I've never stayed at the Best Western or Wyndham. I've read some not-so-great reviews on both. As for the Wyndham, they sell it as two different hotels that share the same common areas (lobby, pools, restaurants, etc). The Wyndham Lake Buena Vista is the main tower, above the lobby. The Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista consists of the two out buildings. Those are motel-style with exterior entry and smaller, far more outdated rooms.

The final option is the Hilton Buena Vista Palace. That hotel is in the final stages of a property-wide renovation. I've had one stay since it switched over to being a Hilton. This was at the start of their renovation. Honestly, it was a disaster. I ended up leaving after one night of my multi-night reservation. One issue was construction noise. That shouldn't be a problem now. The other issue was the room. It was hand-down the dirtiest hotel rooms I've experienced in the past two decades. It was gross. But, other people have different experiences. I believe they are renovating the guest rooms now. I do know that the rooms closest to Disney Springs (the Island Tower) have not been renovated.

Sorry if I'm long-winded. I think too much information is better than too little.

Do check out the website that HopperFan provided. That's the marketing association website for the seven Disney Springs Hotels. They occasionally have some great deals. You may get lucky and find a promotion for the night you need.

I help a lot of my friends with planning there trips, some want the extra night before check in to get use to the time zone, or air-fare was better priced, change of plans, or getting to add a day to their trip. I am assuming that you will have access to a car.

Frist I would look at time of arrival, not the wheels hitting the tarmac if you are flying but including, landing, get off the plane, luggage pick up, car pick up, traffic to the resort. Arrival time for me is when you get to the resort.

Secondly with kiddos, I would like to suggest a nice pool area so that they can swim off the extra energy from flying and being cooped up sitting in a airline seat all day, or the car. Some where were you can relax before heading to see Mickey.

I have some friends that stay just outside of Disney Spring at the Sheraton, located at the corner of Apopka Vineland road and Palm Parkway. The love the pool here, and its within walking distant to several restaurants, and some shopping for any last minute things you might need. You could Uber over to Disney springs if you want, they might even offer a shuttle to Disney Springs.

Some other friends stay at the Holiday Inn right outside of Universal for 1 night and go over to city walk for dinner, or uber over to I-drive to find somewhere new to eat each trip. They come in October once in a while and do Halloween Horror nights which is a hard ticket event, before checking in the next day at WDW.

Which DS hotel has the best fitness center?

Hmmm ..... by photos, BVP may win.

I looked at the one at B Resort. By the pool. It seemed sufficient and loved it was not tucked in dark room.
