Closest on-site resort to DTD??

We are considering a quick trip to WDW in Dec for a shopping trip.

It will only be a quick weekend trip so we want to concentrate our time in the DTD/Boardwalk area.

What is the closest resort to DTD?? We loved WL but that is too far from DTD for us this trip.

Also, if an AP rate comes out we might consider a value resort, which one is the closest??

It be may the new DVC Resort I read you can walkdto DTD Disney from it. You can always rent points for a DVC member.

The closest Disney-owned resorts are Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Port Orleans. Following this is Caribbean Beach, then Pop Century.

I would take the great rates at Pop Century of $59 during most times in the Fall/Winter and take the bus. The ride is less then 10 minutes and totally worth the price/distance.

We had considered the Wyndham because it is right accross from DTD (walking distance I think), but they are booked for the weekend we needed.

I will definitley consider the Pop if we can get an AP rate. Use the extra $$ on shopping!

Now all we have to do is wait with everyone else on those December AP rates.
