we have 3 nights at HOJO 8/31-9/3, 2 nights are ent rate and one is regular....

i am thinking though that we may try priceline for something cheaper, but I love the fact that we can walk from hojo's especially with kids in strollers. We have stayed at GCH and Sheraton and love walking dist. over taking a bus.....

Anyone get something on Priceline or Hotwire within walking dist?

thanks!!

I'd stick with Hojo's if I was you. You might be able to get a little closer or a little cheaper, but there's a lot of not so nice motels in that priceline bidding area so you may get a really yucky room. With 2 nights at the ent rate, I'd call it good enough.

The closest we've ever gotten has been the Hilton (when you could cut through lion king parking lot) and the Marriot (I think it was 3 star bidding but could have been more). These were both won at about $55/night, but keep in mind by the time you add on parking/resort fee and the priceline fee you are probably better off to just stay at the hojo.

Priceline changed it's zones for the Anaheim area at the beginning of summer. So old data won't help you bid.

The star ratings for most of the convention area hotels will help you get them, but they are either a long walk or too far.

The close hotels like Hojo have lower star ratings and since there are lots of hotels with those ratings you could easily end up very far away. I wouldn't risk it and stay with Hojo if you want to be in walking distance.

I just won a hotel for 8/26-8/28/11. I bid $40 and got the Quality Inn Anaheim ...which is 2 blocks away from Disneyland. I originally bid $35 in Anaheim South. That was denied then I added Anaheim North and bid $40. Good Luck! :)

can I ask what star level you usually do? I usually bid 35-42 and start at 2.5* and they bump me up to 3*

What hotels have you got in the past with it and what price and star level where they? If you dont mind. :)

We got the Hilton in March (over Spring break) for about $71, I think. It's a 4 star, and we got it one week in advance.

I bid at 2.5 star level to get the $40 winning bid

Yep, as Skiingfast said, Priceline changed their zoning for the Anaheim area. They're pretty much useless now if you want to ensure you stay in the Disneyland area. The 2 zones have been extended and you can end up past the baseball stadium in one zone and out past Honda Center in the other zone now.
