Closest homes to WDW

We are helping friends plan a trip. They are looking for a home close to the Disney parks. Any suggestions for the best choice? Thanks so much.

Prior to becoming DVC members, we stayed at Formosa Gardens which we booked through www.allstarvacationhomes.com. There was a nice selection of vacation homes depending on what you need. They are within a couple of miles of Disney property. Depending on traffic, you can reach the Magic Kingdom in about 15 or 20 minutes. You are also close to any number of restaurants if you prefer to eat off property. Good luck.

Has anyone ever stayed in the Idyll Mouse One rental home? I've looked into it and it seems to be really clean and nice and pet friendly, which is important to me because I have to bring my dog. Can anyone give me any insight into the house i.e. cleanliness, proximity to the disney parks and seaworld, if you've ever brought your pet, etc. Is there a vet nearby?(my dog has some health problems so this is important)

Also, and I know this is going to sound crazy lol, but has anyone ever seen any alligators in the vicinity? I know I'm being paranoid, but since I'm going to have my dog with me, I'm just curious.
