Closest grocery store

Not sure what you need but there is a CVS & Walgreens with 1/2 a block from Candy Cane Inn. There is a Target about 5/6 blocks down on Harbor( quick Lyft ride)

@TammyLynn33 if you go to google maps, quick search for Disneyland, you can then click the Nearby button and put in grocery. The closest chain is Food4Less which is just down Katella about a mile.

You can also have groceries delivered from Vons.com and Amazon.com. Lots of DISers have things delivered to their hotels now. As the pp said, there is a Target about a mile south of the parks on Harbor. There is a Walmart about a mile or two north of the parks on Harbor (I think) -- you can see it on the right from the 5 fwy. And there is a Walmart grocery store at Ball Rd. and State College, just behind the In'N'Out.

Thanks guys.. we just want to grab a few things snacks drinks etc for hotel room . Just wanted to know what was around we’ve never been to Cali so seeing what our options are.
I’m guessing traveling alone with 17 yr old son and in and out is on must do list for him we will prob end up at the Walmart .
Thanks all

In that case, since you'll be at the CCI: right next door to the CCI is the A Mart (a convenience store), next door to that is a 7-11, across the street from that is a 24/7 CVS and a Walgreen's (at Harbor and Katella). Between those choices, you should be able to find lots of drinks, snacks, basic grocery items, and any little things you might have forgotten to pack!

Yeah skip the grocery store. I'd suggest Walgreens personally, The 711 & CVS were the hot spots for the homeless, a few aggressive panhandlers and guys selling junk. As well as some that used the walkway as a bathroom. I never saw that type of behavior in front of Walgreens though.

Really? We've never had that problem at the CVS, even very late at night -- and the staff there is very friendly, too. The staff at the A Mart is friendly, too. We do tend to avoid the 7-11 -- lots of homeless and unfriendly, unhelpful staff. The Walgreens gets points for being next to a Starbucks. But the CVS is just down the block from a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, so take your pick!

@theluckyrabbit yeah it was very unfortunate to deal with it. The guys selling junky stuff trying to make a buck, the were usually 1-3 people sleeping under the bus stop in front of CVS, then the lovely sight some some woman peeing. Due to due an injury my wife had to use a scooter and navigating the crowds that were sleeping, panhandling or selling was a pain for her. I really never felt unsafe but my wife did say she felt uneasy. Staff at CVS were fine, I just hope they work with the City about addressing the issue.

I've noticed a few homeless folks sleeping at the bus stop by CVS too. They didn't bother us or anything, but it put a slight damper on things. Made me feel bad that I was going to a great place like Disneyland while they had to sleep on the streets. :sad1: DH prefers onsite for this reason (well, and others), but that's not always in the budget!

I hear ya, I feel bad too. However seeing the woman using the flower bed as a bathroom and the guy with his crude T-shirt asking for money makes it hard.

Homeless people don’t bother me. Last summer we were away and the shelters were short on bottled water so the big kids decided to take some of their money and we went water shopping and took it to the shelter .
If we have enough money to go on vacation we can forgo an ice cream to help another human being down on their luck. Helps put everything into perspective for the kids and us as adults

Thank you for doing that and not giving it to the panhadlers, it only continues their addiction. Shelters, Mission, anything but giving cash! Kudos!
