Do not know if this is the proper place to ask, but we are booked at the CBR in October, is there a smoking area around the Pirate themed pool?

We usually stay at the Wilderness lodge where I can smoke my cigars by the Pool bar.

Is there also a smoking area by the smaller pools?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Here's the direct link to the map of the CBR with designated smoking areas shown - it looks like there are two DSAs pretty close to the pirate-themed pool :thumbsup2

This is the perfect place to ask! That's what this thread is for. :thumbsup2
Anywho..to answer your question. CBR is in my opinion very smoker friendly. There is a pretty large area right next to the bar at the main pool. If you were watching little ones in the pool however, it is not close enough. But it is right there at the pool area, so it's not like you would have to "go away" for a smoke. As for the quiet pools, there are no DSA's in the pool area per se. However, the DSA's are plentifull in the villages and I saw each pool had one just a few steps away. But they were still outside the walls of the pool areas.
Hope this helps!

I will be leaving for POP in 30 days are the DSA's still the same ?? One by entrance to lobby in back but off to the side, by the Pool near Petals Bar, around the lake !! These are what I remember !!

Thank you Krissy,

Smoking a Cigar by the pool every day is very relaxing.

I received one of these electronic cigarettes sets for Christmas and I actually used it at my resort during my February WDW trip. It worked for me to use it in those situations when I would normally have a cigarette in my resort room/patio but couldn't at Disney. To me it is not designed to be a cessation aid - but it works when one has the need/desire for a cigarette but it is not allowed or proper to smoke such as while driving, etc.

I would never use it at Disney in a non-smoking environment with others around such as in a restaurant or walking in the parks, etc. because it looks very real and I do not want to "smoke" in environments where I am use to smoking not being aceptable. But in my resort room/patio, it worked for me until I could have a real cigarette.

I'm just hoping to get mine in before my trip. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and they're out of stock. I got the cartridges -- fat lot of good that does :headache:

Okay this is a GREAT THREAD! I thought I would post here for some guidance, thoughts and comments!

1. I am booked at Pop for FEB 2010. First time at WDW resorts. I am not fussy about the no smoking but this won't be Canada weather either! I can smoke outside and not freeze! I am booked in a premium room which I understand is close to the pool, food court etc. I have read here that there is a DSA near the food court too... so I am thinkin of requesting a ground floor room, near food court! With my fillable mug and smoking, good times for morning coffee and nighttime drink too! Anyone have past experience with Pop and smoking?

2. When I went to WDW last March (stayed off resort, smoking room too! YEAH for that!), I too found hardly anywhere to smoke. There were a few times where I just got frustrated and went to hide somewhere and lit up. A couple of times CM's told me I could not smoke and directed me to the elusive DSA... more often I sat and smoked my whole smoke and no one said a word to me... I didn't leave my butts around either. I would grind the butt out and than throw it out.

3. When I first got to Orlando, I stayed at Courtyard by Marriott. I asked about smoking on the balcony and was told I could, just keep the door fully closed. I went out one night and looked around..... 4 smokers on balconies in a row! We had a conversation going on with each other! Too funny!

I don't mind going out for a smoke..... but don't want to be forced to walk 18 miles for something that is still LEGAL!

Out of Value Resorts, which one is most accomodating? I am consdering *** because I hear they still have frozen Coke too!!!!

Hi - I hope the is correct place to ask this question and hope that I don't offend anyone.

I am not a smoker but think that smokers are people too and have a right to enjoy a legal product in a DSA. I am concerned however at being able to smell smoke from the DSA while in my room at CR. I am currently booked in a standard view garden wing room. I see on the map that it looks like a DSA is in front of where the standard view rooms would be looking out onto the South parking lot of CR. Does anyone know if there would be an issue with smelling smoke from the DSA in any of the standard view rooms? I am willing to upgrade to a garden view room if there is a chance of this but would prefer not spending the extra money if this isn't an issue.

TIA!

Another vote for Electronic Cigarettes:thumbsup2

I haven't posted here in awhile but we are headed back to WDW in 23 days:cool1:. We were at WL last May and had a room on the top floor, I like most others here do my best to follow the rules but when I walked out each morning and noticed that everyone around us was out on their balconies smoking I followed suit. Then we stayed at SSR this past November again I was going out to the DSA whenever i wanted a cigarette especially since they are soooo convenient at SSR, there's one outside of each building. Then one night my mom and I went out to sit on the balcony and what do you know there were no less than three other rooms with people out on the balconies(there wasn't anyone else out besides the smokers) smoking so again I figured might as well. Well this time we are staying at AKV Kidani (only two DSA's for a huge resort) and I know they are going to be much much more strict especially with the potential for some wacko to throw their butts down to the savanna. So this time I figured I would order myself an e-cigarette and that way I could smoke on my balcony first thing in the morning and late at night without bothering anyone or breaking any rules. I received my e-cig last week and I have to say I'm amazed. I really doubted it would work but it does!! I have tried to quit in the past with zero success, not really because I wanted to (I enjoy smoking) but because my kids really want me to. I can't believe how great this thing is. I have been fooling around with it and watching tons of videos on youtube so I could get it all figured out before our trip and to my amazement I have been going for the e-cig over a real one all week. Today I only smoked 1 real cigarette and that is huge for me since I am close to a pack a day normally. So definately if your concerned about your first thing in the morning cig or a late night cig with a drink and don't want to have to wonder around the resort looking for a DSA pick up and e-cig they are great!!

Tina

Tina - Where did you get yours? I've ordered two, and both places told me after I ordered that they were out of stock for at least two weeks. I leave two weeks from tomorrow, and I need one now!

I thought it was "against" the law to smoke on balconies?

Please, please, please let's not get into any arguments here or the moderators will be forced to close this thread. It's a good thread with real info and we should all try not to get into a tussle about right and wrong.

It IS against Disney's rules, and the poster you quoted was NOT boasting - merely stating her experience. She then goes on to describe, in great detail, how - with the electronic cigarette - she will be able to legally imbibe (for wont of a better word) AND how it's helping her quit.

That's a GOOD thing! :teeth:

I will be staying at Pop for the 3rd time in 10days !!I request aground floor as it is easier for access to a DSA !! At Pop there is one by the door leading to the lobby close to the food court, also by Petals Bar ther are smoking tables !!All around the lake are DSA's I found Pop to be fine for a smoker !!

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Go to www . thesmokesafe . com (don't know if I'm supposed to link other sites or not that's why the spaces:lmao:. Anyhow, I have the yeti and have read on many forums that it is the preferred e-cigarette. It's great!! They have the white starter kits in stock right now (order quickly they sell out fast). I just ordered a black kit from them on Saturday (hoping to get dh on these) and received it today, so super fast shipping and great products. I would suggest ordering some juice to refill the cartridges as well it's much cheaper to refill them than it is to buy new ones and the taste is much better as well. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I'm happy to help. It took me a few days to figure these things out but once I did I was hooked. Only had one real cig today:cool1:.

I'm not boasting, I'm not complaining, I'm not anything... but a smoker too.

I was shocked to read people "breaking" the law by smoking on the balconies. I've never had it happen during our stays. I thought you had to sign and pay a hefty fine for smoking in non areas if you got "caught". Don't CMs patrol? I've seen them at POP. I can't believe people would sneak a smoke from a balcony! I got worried once smoking in a parking lot in my pj's.

I stick to the rules for the courtesy of others. I'm sure all the posters on this board do too.

I pay extra for a balcony on DCL each year so I can smoke. DCL has really cut down the areas people can smoke. One CM told me they want to get rid of it all together.

Does anyone know if there are DSA locations at Kidani? (AKV) I haven't been able to find out any information on my own yet. TIA

The only map I've seen shows one near the front of the building and one near the pool and that's it. Definately not smoker friendly.
