I don't know for certain the mugs won't change before October but it's my prediction they won't based on how they did mug designs for the last several years. Here's what is available now, along with a blue lid:

I've not been since 2006, do the mugs have your resort name on them? I have an old one from CBR (2001) that of course is specific to CBR to go by.. Just wondering.

They don't have resort-specific mugs anymore. They look exactly the same across all the places they are sold.

thanks very much for the speedy response.. I think the design is really cute..

The CMs at Pop were awesome when we were there in Jan. They found an old red lid so that each of the four of us were able to have different colors! Our DDs don't like that the one my DH uses smells and tastes like coffee! :rotfl2: Go figure!

That trial finished a little while ago, they've now gone back to the old system without the RFID chip.

Do you know when they stopped the trial? Hadn't heard anything more on this. Had friends at ASMu in Jan. Asked them how the chip thing worked, etc. They had no idea what I was talking about. This was their first trip to the World. Needless to say, they were a little over whelmed! :lmao:

The RFID chip test was being conducted at All Star Sports only. They would not have experienced it at All Star Music. So that should explain why they weren't familiar with it.

Trying to decide if we want to buy the mugs or not (3 of us, 2 nights on-site, but split/2 reservations).

Does anyone have the current cost of beverages only/Value Resort food court-Pop (coffee, cocoa, coke) so we can compare costs?

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought it was tested at ALL Values. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. We are doing a split stay and it looks like I'll buy my mugs at POFQ and use it throughout the stay at the Poly. I think that's only fair. I wouldn't bring back my others from a few years ago-I use them around the house. They were a great thing to have, they were included with our dining plan. This time, however we're not getting the dining plan, so the mugs will save some $$.:cheer2:

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere before:

Since the mugs are now included with the dining plan, HOW do you get the mug? Do you have to go get it from your resort's food court and when you would go pay for it do you use your KTTW card with a 'credit' so it's no cost out of pocket?

Correct - your KTTW card has mug credits just like the dining and snack credits.

OK, so the mug credits can only be used at you resort? Or can you hand it to a CM at...let's say a snack cart and use you mug credit along WITH, a snack credit?
In other words, I'm getting a popcorn and a soda with the two different credits.

There's only one mug credit per person. You take the mug to the counter in the food court at your resort. You get the mug. You can now fill it up at the refill station (soda, tea, coffee, water) all you want for the full length of your stay. You don't have to show it to anyone else. However, you can't use it in the parks. It is only good for your resort.

Hope that helps.:thumbsup2

Ok...got it. Only at our resort and one credit per person.
Thanks :thumbsup2

You're welcome:goodvibes The one mug credit per person gives each person one mug which is then for unlimited use at the resort. I think you can fill it up at the food court, or pool bar. I actually don't recommend taking them to the parks with you, since they can't be refilled. Unless... you refilled them w/ ice water. Ice water is always free.

Or you can pour a paper cup of soda into your refillable mug to help keep it cool when you are at the park.

Or take those powder packets (we like Propel) of flavored water or lemonade to keep in your bag and use with the ice water at parks?

Apologizing if this question has been asked and answered before. I have not read through all the pages of this thread. We are thinking of a split-stay at 2 DVC resorts. We will have 2 reservations at the first resort since all the members of our party will not arrive yet (so smaller unit is needed that first night). Wondering about buying the dining plan for that first night because I may be interested in taking my daughter to a character princess meal. So if I bought the dining plan that first night (reservation would be for 1 room for only 1 night), would I be able to use those refillable mugs for the duration of our split stay or only for days 1 and 2 of our stay since the dining plan was only purchased for that 1 night reservation?

Since all the Resort Quick Service locations sell the exact same mug designs I think to myself why would anyone who does a split stay want to purchase the same mugs twice on one vacation? So I say once you buy the mugs at your 1st resort then you can use them at the 2nd resort you stay at.
