CLOSED Sketch Swap Progress

I can count down the days left until reality sets in (back to school begins) on one hand :scared1: I am not ready yet!!! :scared1:

It looks like the stickles made things curl a little so I will have to put more adhesive here and there. Everyone also gets a beaded hat pin that I made to tuck behind a photo. ETA: Group 5- Everyday

Yes, edited above- oops- Thanks!

Michelle - love it! Can you tell us how you made the hat pin please?

I used a head pin (I believe it is called??) from the jewelry section of any craft store. I like them because they aren't as pointy as a real pin, and the wire isn't as stick so they bend easier to secure to layouts. The easiest way though is to get corsage pins and have a large bead at the end of the pin already. Then you just add your beads on the pin and put craft/jewelry glue on the button of the last bead. The only problem with corsage pins is then you always have the same color on top, but some people will coat that bead in stickles or glitter to change it up??

that's a neat technique! yay happy I'm getting it

I have actually hosted a pin swap before on another board. I pretty much swap only on this board now because of time and I like the small community (less flakers :lmao:). If ladies would be interested in participating, I guess I could look into hostessing one on this board. They are super easy to make, super cheap to ship (about $1.50), and really cute!! Plus you get a variety of pins without buying a lot of beads. Perfect for cards or layouts.

Here are photos of hat pins I have made or received in a swap. If you look you can see some of the pin ends were covered with glitter.

Michelle I love the layout :) and the pins are sooo cool!!! I may try my had at making those ;)

Ann --

While I was bagging up a set of my pages, I came across a set whose pages didn't align. I was very annoyed with myself and I as I started to take it apart while berating myself for sloppy work, I realized that the problem wasn't that the pages didn't align, but rather that I had mixed up the order of my pages.

In order to prevent this from happening when you go to sort them, I will label the back of the pages 1, 2, 3, 4 -- when you sort, you'll need to look for the left page labeled 1 and the right page labeled 1. I do intend to bag them that way, but if they become disordered, you'll be able to get it to right without having to line up all 8 pages to figure which ones match. Make sense?

Sounds good Susan. When I packed up my own double pages, I would put the matching set facing each other. I never thought to number them.

I love the hat pin idea for an embellishment and a swap. The layout looks great. Do not worry too much about the curled edges. One, it gives it dimension and two most of them will be put into page protectors.

We are at 11 days. I am going to miss my babies so much.

Never thought of this -- probably easier too!

Beautiful page!

I hadn't thought of that either....my pages are stacked left side, right side, left side, right side, etc. so hope it will be okay! I did make sure to line up my edges for each set.

When I get them, I will put them face to face. It will make swapping them easier. I won't forget a piece that way. :)

Sketch #56SD turned twin for group 17a (pool)

My good camera's battery died and is charging, so I used my small camera. Sorry for the awful picture!!

I love the big title and secondary title. The layout is very nicely done too. The punch used for the journal spot is a very cool touch.
