CLOSED PLEASE CLOSED**Official September 2012 Thread!**

I've updated the list to include tinksgirls and Mom of 3 mousketeers. Welcome.

Time is FLYING! I have to admit that I haven't booked anything yet, and I keep changing my mind about which place I want to stay. Part of me wants to save money and stay at a All-star or Pop, but another part wants to do my first (and probably only) DisneyWorld trip right, and stay at a moderate. I wont decide until I can see how much the price difference would be.

I'm guessing they will announce deals after the current free dining one is over.

Thanks for the add!!

Time is flying but then it's not flying fast enough. I booked in the end of June and am patiently waiting for some sort of discount. I guess we can either get it as early as August or as late as May. :( Today I had a moment of insanity and checked out an off-site resort. It would save us a boatload but I don't think I am ready to do that just yet. It will be my kids' 2nd time to DW, so we'll be staying on property still.

OOPS! I'll amend the list, sorry about that.

I also thought about staying off site, but we would have to rent a car and in the end, only saves us money and not time, and I would rather have more Disney time than anything else.

I'm hoping that's my DH. He isn't the kind of guy who gets all worked up and excited about anything. LOL, we tried for almost a year to have our second son, and I remember calling him to tell him I'd gotten a positive pregnancy test, finally, and his response? "Cool." LMAO. So hopefully he really gets into this and enjoys the trip!
And yes, that's why we waited to go. We wanted the boys to be old enough to enjoy it, and big enough to do the things they wanted to do, and hopefully remember bits of it. We roadtripped to Washington DC when they were 3 and 5, and they still talk about that, so I can't even imagine how much more awesome this will be for them.

When we went the first year, my Jake was 5 and he still remembers it. We went for his birthday and he will tell you about Chef Mickey's and how they did the napkin dance for him.

My DH is the same way...doesn't show his emotion well. But we compliment each other that way. I am the one that gets teared up at the commercials of Disney and if we were both like that, it would be disastrous. LOL!

I noticed I don't have them in my siggy, but my 6 year old is Jacob and my 3 year old is Sean. I am assuming your DH is Sean, but I still thought it was cool.

I too thought about staying off site to save some money (even priced out hotels and condo rentals) but after factoring in a rental car and parking there was not enough savings to justify staying off property and missing out on Disney time and magic. Also my dh said he would rather have it all in one package and paid for before we arrive (including meals).
I have stayed at a Deluxe, Moderate, and Value resort and loved our stay at all of them. Yes each experience was different, but no less magical. We have decided on a value this trip due to me not working right now (I am a nursing student) and I think that my youngest who will be just under two at the time will really enjoy the theme at All Stars Movies.

Yep, Sean is my DH. :) And I'm so glad to hear your Jake still remembers his first trip.
I've looked into staying offsite, too. We actually seriously considered it, but then decided that since it was our first trip, we wanted to go all in. If we go back, and don't feel we need the EMH, or the DDP, we'll try offsite. But first, we'll see how this trip works out.

The major reason why we won't be staying off property is that I like having everything taken care of for me beforehand, so I can just relax. I don't think I'd feel like I was truly on vacation if I had to prepare 2 or 3 meals per day. My family has a summer home that we go to and lately that has been more of a hassle than it's worth because everyone else has a good time and I'm stuck cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids....might as well do it at home instead of a small cottage with 5 adults, 3 kids and dogs! :)

Both of your boys should definitely remember. My kids are so excited to go that they are kind of making me nuts LOL! They have their costumes picked out for MNSSHP (but have no idea what they want to be THIS year) and we've started making an autograph scrapbook. My Disney loving genes have rubbed off on them!

You can add me to the list too!!!
I'm so happy I found a thread for sept 2012, makes me glad I'm not the only one planning ahead. :goodvibes
We we'll be going on 9/21- 9/24 staying at POP, and I'm super excited!!! Can't wait to share all the planning

Yay!!:cool1:

You're going at almost exactly the same time as me!! :goodvibes

Hoping I can join in the fun even though we are leaving in August but our trip will spill over into Sept...8/27-9/5. :goodvibes

We will be a party of 5: myself, my 2 DDs (4 and 17mo at time of trip) and my sister and niece (14 at time of trip). It will be my sister, niece and DD2's first trip. I am so excited. My oldest DD and I have taken 2 girls' only trips already so we are very happy to add more girls.

Trying to make it as budget as possible so we can do the extended stay. Looking at a suite at AoA or 2 rooms at Pop.

Very excited to hear about everyone's plans and have somewhere to talk about this without boring my DBF to death! :rotfl:

I read Zaylor's school attendance policy, and I've decided to change my trip to October only. :thumbsup2

My friends think I'm nuts - but we've been planning this do-over trip since the last day of our Christmas week from hell trip...we REALLY can't wait to go back :goodvibes

Once the kids go back to school the time is going to FLY!! It'll be here before we know it!! We'll be hitting the Halloween clearance racks this year to get our costumes for next year's PAR-TAY!!

We've never taken the kids out of school for vacation but both my sis and I are breaking our own rules for this trip
We keep promising we'll make time each day for some homework....riiiiiight ;)

We have homework every night of our trip... we will be writing a little bit every night.
Dh and I are keeping journals about our experience, but his I am making templates for before we leave, so that he can write a few words next to rides and attractions when we get back to the hotel, then I am going to make a HUGE scrapbook and add his quotes next to the pictures. His quotes are gonna be called "Frankie Goes to Disneyworld" because of the joke on "Frankie says Relax. Totally cheesy but I want it to be something that will really hold the memories for us.

I've added you as an honorary member, as you are only going a few weeks after us!

I've also updated the list. I cannot believe that it is almost August!

I know this is a place to celebrate, but I've been kinda down lately. I am still looking for work since we moved to our new place at the end of June. Please think happy thoughts for me!

I know! Almost the '1 year to go' point for us all :cool1:

I'm sorry to hear you've not been having a good time. I'll keep my fingers crossed a good job comes up for you very soon :goodvibes

Hi all!
We're breaking our own rules, too, LOL. We kind of figured, though, that in the last 4 years, since DS1 has been in school "full time" (K-1-2 and now 3), we've taken him out for one non-illness related day. This isn't something we do often, so I'm pretty okay with pulling him out for a week. I've talked to a few friends in the school, and they say that while the teachers won't tell you it's okay, generally speaking, it's not a huge deal. I'm also pretty much planning on not worrying about homework. We're going on vacation, we'll deal with the aftermath when we get home, LOL.
Whoever said that it's going to fly by once school starts is probably totally right. It always seems like the school year goes so fast. But now that I'm looking forward to something, it will probably drag on and on, LOL.
Princess/es- job finding vibes for you. Good luck!

We are also pulling our kids from school. We thought about going in November when parent/teacher conferences happen because they will have 2 full days, 2 part days and 1 day off, but I wanted to go during a low volume month. I'm going to do the same as some of the PP....ask for schoolwork before. They will work on it on the plane (2 hr flight from Chicago to Orland and back) and then a couple hours during the week.
