Those are cute bows.

Piper I love your PJ's that you made.

I am working on Hayden's shirt for the BIG GIVE and I showed DH the applique that I put on the back and showed him the original picture and he said that they didn't look anything alike:sad:. I need to attach the collar and then I will post pics and you guys can tell me what you think about it.

The fabric came from Walmart. It was with their Valentines fabric. I love that movie, sometimes I feel like that's my life, "wake up, make breakfast for kids, clean up breakfast, do laundry, make lunch for kids, clean up lunch, do laundry, make dinner for kids, clean up dinner, do laundry, go to bed, wake up, make breakfast for kids...." I too am reliving the same day over and over and over.... :rotfl2:
Ugh no wally world with fabric here I guess I need to bribe my cousin again! LOL

Quick Question

Those who have made the rag quilts. Do you use three layers in your quilts? The link on the links page says to use flannel in between two pieces of cotton. Is this what most of you do? I need to make a small one for a baby shower and was trying to figure it out! Thanks!
I have only used 2 layers. I planned on 3 but my calculations where off and I only had enough for 2 ad it is fine like that. If you want it warmer I say then go with 3. I used all flannel so mine was pretty warm anyway.

Okay--one more outfit for my grandson. You know grandmothers can't send just one!

close up of his name--it's just a font I printed and ironed on. Cutting out those little letters was really fun!;)

!

Thanks! I think I may just do two layers with flannel too.

I thought that I would be the enabler this time. I posted this over on couteau_chick's PTR, but thought I would post it over here. It is Mardi Gras time and that means King Cakes are back in season. The bakery that I used to work at will ship a King Cake and all of the things to have a party to anywhere in the US. They are very yummy.

I have used 3 layers of flannel, or 2 of flannel an one batting in between.

I was just going to say the 2 layers is probably fine for a baby quilt. You don't want it to be too thick.

Gosh another busy weekend almost done and I have yet to finish the crayon rolls for the big give. (I plan on doing it tonight after the kids go to bed) I hate my sewing machine..I swear it always gives me problems and then when someone (Like MIL) trys to fix it, it works wonders for her... grrr..
Anyway DH is a lucky guy, he just left for 5 months to take a temp assi down in LA Lucky guy (I get to go down in April to visit him)

Hey guys! Checking in on the MACNTOSH BIG GIVE! The ship date is set for saturday, February 7th so everyone has some more sewing days left!

If it looks like you won't be able to make it please let me know as soon as you can! I'll be heading out for vacation shortly and life will be crazy busy once we get back.

I will have a computer while gone so please PM me if you have any questions about the big gives! Thanks!

ohhhh, do they have the yummy flavored (like cream cheese) ones? My sister brought some up from NO one time that were AMAZING! I will probably order one for the boys (and me too). The king cakes here are sooooo pathetic!

Here is a skirt I whipped up tonight. A friend of mine asked me to pick up this shirt for her little girl, and I couldn't help but make something to match. I hope she didn't have other plans for the skirt!

They do have the yummy Cream Cheese one.

Teresa-I have to find the batteries to my camera and then I will upload them.

$200 gift card question

Can it be used for anything? As in can we pay for meals with it? I believe the birthday one they have restrictions on but hadn't seen anything about this one. I know a couple have gone already so hope you'll have an answer.

There are no restrictions on it. We used it in the Lego Store, we used it in restaurants for drinks and tips, and we used it in the food court in our resort. We didn't have any problems.

Yummy!
We've already had 2 king cakes so far. :sad2:

We get them from The Pecan House which is down the hwy. I like the strawberry cheesecake ones, and DH likes the pecan.
I think they are the bestest! Now I am wondering if maybe I need to try another one??? I've tried the ones in New Orleans and this one is my fav! :rotfl2:

Those look really yummy. My fav is the Zulu King Cake at Atwood's. It is yummy, but I prefer it without the coconut.

Oh my gosh I am going to kill my computer! I cannot get onto e-mail and I will be in big trouble with the PTA if I've lost all of them. And all my settings are lost. I just typed this post and went to spell check and all of a sudden I don't have spell check and I lost the entire post!

Anyway, for the second time, I have been busy with company sewing for the fater/daughter western dance and the dismeet. The kids are driving me absolutely crazy as well.

Megan decided she wanted the gingham dress for the dance:

But her little cowboy hat has a red star and she has black boots so I picked out some different fabrics. Do you think the black is too long? I think I need to take off the fringe and cut down the black and put it back on.

I did discover something new. Sometimes when I am attaching multiple layers to a bodice it gets all twisted and folded. Especially when you attach it to the wrong side and have to rip it out and start over. :crazy2: So after I did that, I ironed on about an inch of interfacing to the bottom of the bodice and that made it much easier to sew! Hope my mistakes help someone.

And, here we go Steelers!

I'm all done. It's boxed and ready for me to get to the post office. I'll get it out in plenty of time.

Jessica, I used my gift cards for everything. Including the tip for the server. There are a few kioses you can't use them at but other than that, we use them everywhere. Even to pay for part of our room.

Hey has anyone heard from MYTWOTINKS lately?? I haven't seen her on the board for awhile. Hope all is well!!!!!

How funny to see this! I haven't checked in for a while. Just busy with busy life. Riley is on a competitive dance team, has to take a ballet class, and is doing basketball. I miss life with preschoolers when I got to decide what I did and when!

Hope everything is well for everyone. I'm mailing my big give outfit tomorrow morning.

I'll try to be better about checking in!
