Hobby Lobby had all their T's at 50% off this week, so we went a little crazy!

Wow, wow, wow. Did you design all the iron-ons??

The designs are done by hand. Only the name was done on the machine and it took me longer to do the name then the entire boy! :sad2:
I hope to get my freehand applique to look that good. Actually.. I hope to get a bigger sized embroidery machine to make my appliques look that good. :)
th_JasmineChipDale010.jpg

The next is Chip and Dale. DD4 is going to be Chip and DD2 is going to be Dale. They are going to wear these to Chip and Dales Campfire Sing Along. DD4 skirt is a little different. She has a patchwork skirt instead of strips.

th_JasmineChipDale014.jpg

Finally, my model was more that cooperative to put on this one. I wonder why!!! I just need to find a way to get it off of her. This is for DD2 to wear on her sisters Birthday night. DD4 has this in Snow White but was to "busy" to take pictures.

Waughzee made the tiara and JennWDW made the bows.

***Notice only one ballet slipper. The other is MIA. It would have been easier to take the remaining slipper off of an alligator.***

Cool!

Ok here are a few things I have been doing.
th_IMG_0774.jpg
a nightgown for my niece and I also made one for my girlfriends dd. I was so happy i found the fabric which is satin backed with flannel for 2.5 a yard!!!!

A flouncy skort i did for Nik.
th_IMG_0778.jpg
Love the night gown & skirt!

A little sewing lingo! I think Heather or was it Leslie posted this a few pages back. We sewer's talk in a different form sometimes.

When we say by hand (usually) we mean that we use the sewing machine to sew, but cut it out by hand and go around the pieces by hand. Not using a purchased design on an embroidery machine. By machine (or digital) usually means using a program, it does the work, you just change out the thread, cut the fabrics, hoop it, etc.

So, the confusing part comes in where some add little details for real by hand with a needle and a thread. Leslie did the other day on her Minnie Mouse mouth and eyelashes. It is usually on the face, the little details like that that are done with a needle and thread!

So, now that we are all up with the sewing lingo carry on! :thumbsup2
Can you imagine doing a satin stitch by hand for real??? :scared:
Does anyone know Lisa Zoe's ebay ID? I think she created something I want to CASE. ETA - I am looking for a way to contact her and make sure she wouldn't mind.

Emily
I pm'd her a while back because I wanted to CASE her Sleeping beauty dress, and she didn't reply. Let me know if you get in touch with her. I wish I had saved a picture of that dress. I remember loving it so much. Has anyone talked to her??? Hope she is okay.

Okay, so who wants to take a little trip to Disneyland today? My HM pictures are from October when we went out there and I just decided I would post about a zillion pictures for you'll. I think most were seen thrown on my bedroom floor and a quick picture snapped before leaving!

th_100_7473.jpg

Oh wait, jedi training, must change shirts, QUICK!

Beautiful!!! Had to delete pictures for room, but I loved it all. Thanks for posting your little disneyland wardrobe.

You think those canyons are pretty? You should really come visit me if you want to see canyons! We will probably go again in October unless Mike loses his job or some such catastrophe. I have a lot of $$$ credit with the airline right now and I'm hoping to save it and fly out in October. I'm not sure when the kids' break is yet. Our school district is splitting and we're in the new district. I think I'll go see if they have a website yet. Nevermind, I checked. If we go it would be around Oct. 1-5

th_IMG_1943-1.jpg
Beautiful! :thumbsup2

Thanks Leslie for explaining the hand vs. machine. Also, thanks for the compliment. Although, I can see every flaw perfectly now! LOL

I have a few NBC outfits also.
Oh... I LOVE them!!! I know I have said it when you posted before, but they are sooo awesome!!

almost done with DD's animal kingdom outfit still have to make bows and do some hand sewing and fray the mickey head.

th_002-1.jpg
I've never tried a frayed applique. I'd love to see how it looks after you fray it!

I thought some of you guys would like to read this.

Thanks for posting. I saw on CNN that this was expected but didn't know it had gone through.

My DS is really tall (he's only 6), so I needed to add fabric to make the shorts longer, but I added a cuff, so Yoda's & Darth's faces are covered by his (Star Wars) t-shirt. I have more of this fabric and I'm going to make another pair with the added fabric at the waist, and a slightly smaller cuff.

We love star wars! Great job!

Hi Guys,

LOVE all the pictures of Dallas - really awesome!!

Thanks for the comments on Tim's outfit - I guess I will keep it as is!!!

Has anyone seen fabric with eagles on it lately????? I cant find it in my Joann's or walmart!!!!

Had a wonderful experience today - a little boy with Down Syndrome that I see was coming in for therapy today - we have been working on functional skills and were doing easy bake oven week this week. I knew he loved star wars, so I made him a star wars chef hat (THANKS CARLA) well, lets just say he was so happy!! Its the best therapy session we have ever had!! once i reached up just to adjust the velcro on his hat and he started having a fit!! "NO TAKE HAT NO TAKE HAT!!!" it was funny when his mom tried to take it off as they left to put his winter hat on - lets just say to keep things peaceful, he left with is chef's hat ON!!!!! all the mom's in the waiting room were like "awwww, he looks so cute" i wish i could have taken a picture to show you all, but I couldnt.....but anyway - Carla you made a little special boys day!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes
th_100_0621.jpg
Love that fabric.

I think this is a great idea, and the shirt looks great. I know I would rather my kiddos bring home something like this rather than lots of little toys.

When my oldest turned 8, HSM2 had just come out. I made all the girls drawstring backpacks. It was a big hit.

Alright, now I'm off to finish catching up.
Cute bags!

Just a quick post to share pictures of the skirts on. Madilynn's not feeling well today and spent the day on Gramma's couch so I could work a few hours. Just wanted to share the pictures before I forgot. I'll have to catch up after the kids are in bed.
Thanks for posting it with her modeling. I love it now! I think I will get that pattern. I keep putting off buying a bundle, but I think I know what I want now. :)

The hat looks GREAT! Where did you get that fabric?
I have to tell you that story actually brought tears to my eye ! I think it is so sweet you made it for him and that he loved it so much must have been so wonderful to watch!

Someone on the DISigns board made the names and I ran them off on fabric sheets and cut out all the bags. The girls used my scraps and designed their own bag. I helped them sew everything down and then we put their name on top. Then we threaded some colorful ribbon through the casing and VOILA!!! It was a slumber party, so we had plenty of time. It was a huge hit though and served as a craft and goody bag.

Alright, now I'm off to finish catching up.

It looks even better with her in it!!!!!
I hope she feels better!

Love all the stuff posted lately!

I am in serious lurker mode lately trying to get ready for our trip. I think I have the last appliqué done, the last iron on printed, cut and ironed on, the last button sewn on, the last item I needed at the store checked off my list. This is (was) the last night off I had until our vacation! I still need to pack every thing yet! DW will help, but she has to work everyday until then also. We are working right up until the end, so that we can strategically take almost two weeks off, but only count it as one week of vacation.

Here is the final outfit I made for Leighanna, and a couple of t-shirts for us to match. Yes, we like matchy, matchy whenever possible on vacation!

I also added a little bling to Lady's collar. (It is a rhinestone button, although it looks more like a heap of glitter in this photo!:scratchin )

I LOVE all the matchy matchy stuff! I am not sure I could get George to do that! I was just happy I could get him to buy a Grumpy sweatshirt when we where there since he is 'My grumpy'!

Headed to post pictures..

Ok here is the applique I did last night to match the skirt. /nikki asked me for an applique so I did one for her. It came out better then the last one. Still not perfect but a bit better. I did take some ones advice and ripped out and redid some areas but I was afraid i would ruin the tshirt so i didn't do it too much. It also kept getting caught in a few areas even though I was trying to move it along so to speak. Then I found that the stabilizer came undone easily even though I ironed it on. Could I use double layers of Stabilizer???

IMG_0779.jpg

IMG_0780.jpg
Oh and I drew my own flower. Well at least the top part.

I will try to get her to model it later but she isn't feeling well...

Why were you'll so talkative after I went to bed!

I love everything I have seen!

DeAnna, so cute on! I love the matching doll outfits!

Tom, I love matchy, matchy, although I am sure everyone has figured that out by now. I love all the iron ons. I think the name iron ons are my favorite. Can't wait to see ya real soon!

Tina, is that right? I gotta work on my names! That AK outfit is perfect! I love a light fray look!

Minigirl! Great idea on the bags. Why did I have a boy? I just don't think they would think it is nearly as cool as your girls did!

Off for a LONG day of trying to find some tshirts! I don't want to go out and I know there are so many GERMS! and I don't want to be sick before we go! I have kept Lin's nasty cold at bay. Dallas has just gotten a slight bit of it and I have walked around the house like a freak all week. Now, I am going out in the real world! Wish me luck that germs stay away!

Wow! This is great! This is your 2nd one right? All the curves and look how good! Really! Your stem is practically perfect. See, I told you it won't take long to catch on. And always remember, as long as the kids like it, that is what counts! :thumbsup2

3rd but still:rotfl:
Is it normal for the machine to practically top in one spot a lot when appliquéing? I am trying to feed the piece through the feed dogs but it still seemed to get stuck a few times. more so at the end when the stabilizer seemed to almost come off from all the movement. Should I reapply the stabilizer if that happens again?

Tom--LOVE it all! Those Lady and the Tramp iron ons look great! You must have a good printer!

Marlo--sometimes my iron-on stabilizer will come loose before I'm done appliqueing. You can just re-iron it and it will stick back down pretty well. I have to do that a lot.

Great that is good to know!
I bought the sulky totally stable. Hopefully that is the right one this time! Can i use it for my embroidery machine too? I have some iron on brother stabilizer but man that is expensive!

Husqvarna Lena Sowing Machine

Anyone know about this machine? its on craigslist in my area for 125...thanks

Hi All...
All the new stuff is great!

billwendy... love the star wars chef's hat story, so sweet.

tom...great stuff! I love the matching stuff! would you share where you got the dwarf art?

minnie2...Wow! your applique work is looking great! Love the matching shirt!

Ok, folks I need to be educated on interfacing.....
I feel so green.... I have used stabilizers (mostly Sulky stuff) and iron on stuff like Steam A Seam, but I have never bought stuff by the yard.
I guess the first question is are there different weights and kinds?
Are they behind the cutting counter? do I need ask for them?
I supposed all stores are different so that may not be a good question to ask.
I am working on a bag, and need some. Just trying to get some basic knowledge before I brave JoAnn.
Thanks guys.

Glad my design gets to go along!

Over on the creative designs board here on the Dis is where to get the designs and there is also a tutorial on there for printing and ironing.

Just wondering if anyone here knows how to make the purple dress that June from Little Einsteins wears. Please let me know.

Thanks for all the comments!
I did NOT design any of the Disigns. I got them all on the Creative Disigns board. I just did not have the time to make them this trip, and there are so many creative people that did all the hard work for me!:thumbsup2

This is my last photo. I made a journal for Leighanna to take and write comments, add photos and autographs. Leighanna helped with the gluing and taping.
I am doing this as part of her school work that she is going to miss. She will share her trip with her class when she gets back!

HELP!

Is there anyone coming to the dismeet who is going anywhere that sells jibbitz before they leave? I need Wall E! The darn mall didn't have him and that is the one thing I told Dallas I would get him. They had every other darn character (which I bought). I can't figure out where else to look. Suggestions of stores that carry them too would be great!

Of course, they are now on sale at disney shopping which irks me too! I don't think I would get it in time and now bought the other 3 that come in the set already. Ugh!
