I hear you about the PG rating! DH watches the episodes before we let the kids see them. So far there's only been one episode he deemed too violent. Plus we've talked to them about movies vs. reality, I hope they get it though.

LOL! I made DH watch it first too. This will be the 4th one he has seen. He suddenly had learned it it is fun to channel surf and saw an ad for it. Now it is all he talks about.

I think this is a great idea, and the shirt looks great. I know I would rather my kiddos bring home something like this rather than lots of little toys.

When my oldest turned 8, HSM2 had just come out. I made all the girls drawstring backpacks. It was a big hit.

hsm2000112-1.jpg

hsm2000212.jpg

Someone on the DISigns board made the names and I ran them off on fabric sheets and cut out all the bags. The girls used my scraps and designed their own bag. I helped them sew everything down and then we put their name on top. Then we threaded some colorful ribbon through the casing and VOILA!!! It was a slumber party, so we had plenty of time. It was a huge hit though and served as a craft and goody bag.

Alright, now I'm off to finish catching up.

These are really really cool! What a cute idea. :)

And a trip to California is never complete without going to Hollywood!

The El Capitan and Disney's Soda Fountain.

I should say, we are yet to see a movie at the El Capitan because I always get voted down. In May The Little Mermaid was playing. That was my favorite movie for years! This time NBC played the beginning of the week and then HSM3. We just can't fit the movies in it seems!

We went to Santa Monica after Hollywood and enjoyed the pier then back for the fireworks. We had to skip Malibu this trip and it is a bit sad to miss the canyons and all. It is just all so pretty.

Here is the morning we left.

Dallas has been bugging me about going back and I keep checking airfare but yet to take the plunge. Anyone going again this October??

Oh I love your appliques! The haunted house is just too cute! We are going back in October and I will certainly need a Mickey pumpkin tee....for me! Great job!:thumbsup2

Nae Nae,,,,thanks so much for the offer - wish i could just come with you - i forgot to mention that it needs to be like Walmart cheap....$4/yard or less and I'd need 2 yards of a "manly" looking eagle - its for a chef hat and apron:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just a quick post to share pictures of the skirts on. Madilynn's not feeling well today and spent the day on Gramma's couch so I could work a few hours. Just wanted to share the pictures before I forgot. I'll have to catch up after the kids are in bed.

Had a wonderful experience today - a little boy with Down Syndrome that I see was coming in for therapy today - we have been working on functional skills and were doing easy bake oven week this week. I knew he loved star wars, so I made him a star wars chef hat (THANKS CARLA) well, lets just say he was so happy!! Its the best therapy session we have ever had!! once i reached up just to adjust the velcro on his hat and he started having a fit!! "NO TAKE HAT NO TAKE HAT!!!" it was funny when his mom tried to take it off as they left to put his winter hat on - lets just say to keep things peaceful, he left with is chef's hat ON!!!!! all the mom's in the waiting room were like "awwww, he looks so cute" i wish i could have taken a picture to show you all, but I couldnt.....but anyway - Carla you made a little special boys day!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Anyone have any ideas of when some Spring Mickey fabric might be coming out? I have been stalking different sites and nothing seems to be popping up. Any suggestion of places to look or sites too? I am trying to find some girls Mickey fabric.

Those are a really good idea. I am going to having to do something clever like this for Jenna's birthday.

My DS is really tall (he's only 6), so I needed to add fabric to make the shorts longer, but I added a cuff, so Yoda's & Darth's faces are covered by his (Star Wars) t-shirt. I have more of this fabric and I'm going to make another pair with the added fabric at the waist, and a slightly smaller cuff.

Very cool!!! that worked out great!

Love all the stuff posted lately!

I am in serious lurker mode lately trying to get ready for our trip. I think I have the last appliqué done, the last iron on printed, cut and ironed on, the last button sewn on, the last item I needed at the store checked off my list. This is (was) the last night off I had until our vacation! I still need to pack every thing yet! DW will help, but she has to work everyday until then also. We are working right up until the end, so that we can strategically take almost two weeks off, but only count it as one week of vacation.

Here is the final outfit I made for Leighanna, and a couple of t-shirts for us to match. Yes, we like matchy, matchy whenever possible on vacation!

I have shared this one already, but I made a couple of iron on T's to match.

I also added a little bling to Lady's collar. (It is a rhinestone button, although it looks more like a heap of glitter in this photo!:scratchin )

A few more T's for us.

Hobby Lobby had all their T's at 50% off this week, so we went a little crazy!

Tom-those all look great. I am trying for matchy matchy for this year's trip also. I'm doing pretty good so far. Other people showing their DH's in custom shirts is really helping me. I love the Animal Kingdom outfit and matching shirts. Too cute.

Okay, so who wants to take a little trip to Disneyland today? My HM pictures are from October when we went out there and I just decided I would post about a zillion pictures for you'll. I think most were seen thrown on my bedroom floor and a quick picture snapped before leaving!

100_7473.jpg

Oh wait, jedi training, must change shirts, QUICK!

Ignore the non matching pants!

The HM is all decked out for the NBC and it was so awesome! I wish that you could take pictures inside and see how cute everything is.

100_7624.jpg

Our one and only family picture, I think for the entire trip!

3.jpg

We went to legoland the day before this and met Jeanne and family that day at Mimi's!

The HM is done on my machine. I did buy the designs off ebay, they were $40 or $50. This is the MOST expensive outfit Dallas has EVER worn! Pretty sad since the shirt was $5 and jeans probably $14.
Wow Dallas looks adorable in everything. You did a fabulous job on it all Jessica!!

You think those canyons are pretty? You should really come visit me if you want to see canyons! We will probably go again in October unless Mike loses his job or some such catastrophe. I have a lot of $$$ credit with the airline right now and I'm hoping to save it and fly out in October. I'm not sure when the kids' break is yet. Our school district is splitting and we're in the new district. I think I'll go see if they have a website yet. Nevermind, I checked. If we go it would be around Oct. 1-5

Not sure how old your daughter is, but here are my DD3 and DD11:

Here is a boys NBC outfit I did a while ago.

Sorry, I don't have a better picture in photobucket. It was a tad short on him at this point.

It has Oogie Boogie and the word Jack on the back.
Awww how cute!!!

Thanks Leslie for explaining the hand vs. machine. Also, thanks for the compliment. Although, I can see every flaw perfectly now! LOL

I have a few NBC outfits also.

Oh... I forgot to mention this! I used my Cricut to cut out the Mickey heads! It worked out GREAT! So easy!

Hear this Karen? I used my Cricut today! I still have a project that I am hoping to finish up, but I don't think I will have the time. Why do all the little details take so long to do?!:sad2:
