We are off to see Coraline on this beautiful day. :)

Before we go I thought I would share one more Vday dress. I made this for both of my girls. My oldest does not like it. She said she likes the style of dress but not the fabric. She wore it though so that is all that matters. Later on she did thank me so I think it is growing on her. LOL

Really Cute! I love the Fabric. I am glad its growing on her.
My DD took off the skirt I made her as soon as I got it on her this morning. And I thought we were going to have that struggle all day... then she put it back on and I haven't heard another word about it :confused3 don't know what changed her mind, but I am not going to rock the boat :)

B]QUESTION FOR YOU ALL[/B]
I am making my niece and nephew kind of matching outfits. I am using the white and blue pooh toile for my nieces dress do you think using that material on the cuff of easy fit shorts for my nephew is too girlie. He is only almost 2.

I think you could get away with it.

Coming out of partial lurkdome. . . .

So some of you may remember I said a few months ago that DH and I were starting to try for our first baby. . . well my period should have started days ago and I took a pregnancy test this morning (5:30am!!) and then another to be sure it was right, and they both showed up with two pink lines. We are waiting to tell the people we know until it is confirmed at the doctors, and some possibly until after the 12 week mark, but I HAVE to tell someone. SO I thought this group, with all of its love, support and prayers for one another, would be the place to come to. I am excited and so nervous at the same time. Your thoughts, prayers or good vibes :goodvibes would be very much appreciated. Six years ago next month I was diagnosed with cancer and being alive, let alone being able to conceive, is truly a miracle.

I am just praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Thanks for letting me share

congrats and i'm sure it will go great. I'm 9 weeks pregnant so only just a bit ahead of you so maybe we can share advice as we go along. Good luck with not telling people till 12 weeks i've failed that bit already. The sickness was kinda a give away

Hi there! You all are very talented! My Dsis is going to applique some overalls for my little boy and were looking for some inspiration. I looked in the photobucket but couldn't find anything. If anyone can post some boy pics, that would be great! Or just pm me or email me at rmgrafft@fuse.net.

I also really like all the bargains you got on fabric, ribbon and the shower curtain (genius, btw). The care bear fabric is super nice too!

Thanks!! Glad to see someone close to me in terms of due date (by the online calculators I am due somewhere around 10/19). I am so nervous and excited. I convinced DH to let me tell my mom, more because it is my mommy and I want her to know, but also since we are cleaning a home tomorrow to make some side money and I won' want to go near any chemicals (plus she already new my pd was late). I am going to shower and get dressed to head out and get the pregnancy "confirmed". . . I need it for my insurance application, but the county services was going to take forever (one said March and the other was next week). . . well I can't wait that long to put in my maternity insurance, just makes me too nervous so I found a place that will confirm it and fill out the forms for the application today (Planned Parenthood).

Thanks for all your well wishes, it has made this day extra special!

Does anyone have a Nightmare before Christmas out they would like to sale. My mother was going to make one for dd6 but we cannot find any fabric.

Ok I Just loaded pictures from the other night and I just had to share this picture with you all. Georgia loves her new DS she got for her birthday and I guess little Sky Boy does too. hehe

feb036.jpg

By any chance, was she playing the game where the cat meows? :goodvibes Kirsta got a DS last Xmas, but she just isn't interested in it. We got a Wii for Xmas this year, and I got her a Princess game. She plays it once in awhile.

it is practically spring here in az!! thanks again

Don't rub it in!!

Oooo! Good Luck! What fun that would be :)

Ok, I really need to not surf the net... I have been looking at purse patterns online and I came across this tote.......
castlekeeper400.gif

I think I love it :lovestruc
This is the description...
Roomy and totally cute tote bag pattern with 4 outside wall pockets and 2 roofed tower side pockets. This tote bag is big enough for a binder or some books, water bottle, umbrella, etc. or as a "royal" diaper bag. Finished size is 13" x 14".

I may have to buy the pattern, but after a buying patterns from YCMT I thought I had sworn off paper patterns ;)

Okay, I need more information on this!! Can you send me a link?

Hello all. I have the brother cs6000i sewing machine. I bought a ruffler foot from hancock's when they were on sale and finally got around to trying it out the other day. Well, I don't know if it is my machine or the foot, but it DOES NOT work!! It makes a really loud banging noise, and was not easy to optimize like carlac said it should be. Very sad:sad1: - I was so looking forward to ruffling like crazy.

Does anyone have this machine, and, if so, what ruffler do you use?? I see that Brother makes a ruffler foot for 7mm machines - the SA143 - would this work??

Thanks!!

I had the CS6000i, I emailed Brother and they said that they don't make a ruffler compatible with this machine. I had one that fit, and used that. But it broke my machine. Big time. The machine isn't heavy duty enough to take the rough work from a ruffler. The whole feed dog part collapsed out of the bottom. I was told, with warranty, it would cost more to repair then what I paid for it. :scared1: I only had it 6 months. So I ended up buying a Janome trade in machine, that I love. But there were things about the Brother I liked more.

My husband just got around to posting some pics from this summer. My Mom is a big time horseback rider so she made arrangments for her 2 granddaughters to be able to ride a large pony at the barn. I actually didnt know DD smiles at all as she cried quickly after getting on. I love this pic.
n743068622_2092181_3654.jpg

He was a very tall pony, wish they had some smaller ponies there!

LOVE this! Even the fabric :) ! What pattern did you use?

Gorgeous! Love that fabric

They are beautiful!!!

supper cute fabric and dress!

These are darling. THe fabric reminds me of a quilt my Grandmother did for me when I was little- very similar children- except they were in 70's green and orange were emphasized. I love these kids.
Did you use Carla's peasant top? Im curious how you finished the bottom of the blouse underneath...is it strictly for wearing under things, or is it finished so that they can wear it with pants, skirts, etc?

Really Cute! I love the Fabric. I am glad its growing on her.

Thank you all so much. :)

The pattern is the Marieke. I do like it a lot but it seems to run a bit short. The pattern does not call for a ruffle but I am really glad I added it. The dress would have short on both of my girls.

I do the peasant tops a couple different ways. I have finished the edges with a straight hem or a rolled hem. Sometimes I add a ruffle. I normally prefer to wear the top under something. My DD4 is built like a pole and DD2 is petite. Sometimes the peasant tops can be a little too big on their own. I have added sashes or shirred the backs to give the tops a more fitted look.

The nicest thing about the peasant tops is how once you get the hang of them they go by so quickly. :)

Here are a couple more pics from today.

That is a very cute pattern. Thanks for the heads up about the fitting. What is your instinct about sizing up? Would that do enough for the length, or would it then be too big everywhere else? I think I may need to put this pattern on the list of things to try.

Yea!!! More babies. What great news, I'll be sending prayers your way! Although, I should tell you... my little guy is putting a big crimp in my sewing ;) He's worth it though  I do spend a lot of time on the interent... he nurses every 3-4 hours for at least an hour at a time so I just sit at my computer and surf.

Take care of yourself and enjoy every second of it, pregnancy is such a miracle.

Thank you all so much. :)

Great outfits!

I am fine with Dallas' picture being posted. I won't speak for others, but I am pretty sure we are all okay with it as I can't think of anyone who was there who doesn't normally post pictures of the kiddos, but we'll all be back sooner, rather then later, so you can wait and check with them and then I won't have so much to catch up on!

I'm going at that same time and I would love to meet you guys.:cool1:

I AM going in October...we are planning for at least the 23rd-27th right now
Let's plan another meet. We had some much fun at the last one!!! I just wish we had more time together

:lovestruc Becca :lovestruc

As you guys know, Becca, one of our Wish children is in the hospital in critical condition following brain surgery. Mandy ( llurgy )PMed me this morning with the addess of the hospital and the Ronald McDonald house they are staying in. If anyone would like to send a card, or pixie dust, please PM me and I'll give you the addresss. Maroo also has it, incase my inbox is full.

Maroo was thinknig that it would be really nice if we could send giftcards for the family for food. She says that there is a McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway & Kroger's nearby. They are staying at the Ronald McDonald house, but they do have to buy their own food and that could get pretty expensive.

Of course, just a card or a note would do a lot to brighten their day.

Can you PM me the address?

Everyone else...I'm trying really hard to catch up. There have been so many beautiful things posted! Congrats to our preggo Disboutiquers. Prayers said for healthy pregnancies!!!

Thanks to Cindee for posting some meet pics. I hope you don't mind but I'm "stealing" the group shot because I didn't get one with my camera.

Jessica- PM me your email address. I have pics of your family at the Haunted Mansion for you.

Kristine! So nice to hear from you! Pics of my kids are fine. We are going in October too. I don't have dates yet but hopefully I'l be able to make a meet up! I'll have the new little one with me then.

Great outfits!

beautiful, i love them

congrats... that is wonderful...hooray for baby
Thanks!!!!

Shannon I would just add length. It fits really well everywhere else. Plus it has the casing for elastic under the armpit. I think a double ruffle would be really cute for this one. I know that my DD2 is a petite size 2. I did the 86/92 and it was short! I did the 110 for my DD4. She is a long/tall 6 and it was short as well. I really like the way everything else fits though. I also think it is a really cute dress for everyday. :)

Attempting button-holes can be DANGEROUS to ones health and well-being!!! I have created my very first THREE-PIECE (yes, that is 3) outfit. I was so proud of myself. It is a Vanetine's Day outfit for my sweet daughter. It consists of pants, peasant shirt and solid jumper top. All created from the absolutely wonderful patterns of CarlaC. (Thanks Carla)!!!

Anyway....getting to the dangerous part. Everything was stitched, sewn and looking good with the exception of the dreaded BUTTON-HOLES!!! That is the ONLY part I have left! Now I am not completely crazy so I knew to practice on some scrap fabric. After reading my machine's manual and thinking I knew what I was doing, I attempted to make a button-hole. Initially it seemed to be working but then of course everything stopped and got stuck. It was at this point everything went WRONG!!! Oh my goodness, I TOUCHED the needle and BURNED the heck out of my fingertip!!! Yes BURNED it.....BAD!!! Is it just me or my machine or has this happened to anyone else? I had NOOO idea the tip of the needle got so flipping HOT!!!!!

Now my finger still hurts and I have yet to learn how to make a stinkin' hole for a button. That is ALL I have to do before I complete my daughter's Valentine's Day outfit. Her school party is Thursday so I have one day left!!!! Wish me luck....or maybe I should just resort to velcro tape!!??? Perhaps use a knife and just make my own hole for those darn buttons??? Who knows....LOL

I only have button holes to add to the boys' v-day shirts and then they'll be done. But, I am such a terrible button hole maker that I decided to cheat and sew snaps on and sew buttons on top of the snaps. My excuse is that it's easier for them to put the shirts on that way. Could you possibly do that?

Oooooh Hoooray!!! Happy Baby! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cheer2: Wishing you a very happy and healthy baby growing months and a very happy healthy little one!

How sweet is that. I love that fabric!

No I think she was playing Bulid a bear. She loves her DS she just got it for her birthday from her dad. We got the Wii for Christmas too. We got her Hannah Montana and a Barbie game which she loves. I keep it limited or she would play it all darn day if I let her. I want to get her the Princess game too.
