Won't wear the bows! Doesn't she know how cute she looks! How old is she? My DD9 will wear a bow if it is pulled back into one ponytail. She still loves the plain or embelleshed tee or tank top with a matching custom skirt. I know I probably only have a year left though because she's in fourth grade now and when she gets to middle school (6th grade) I think she would get laughed out of school for the look. Actually, she'll be in a uniform for school, but outside of school it will be too "uncool." Glad to hear about the laundry, makes me feel a little better. And I agree, I hate dirty dishes laying around.
My dd is 9 too and thankfully she still love the customs Then today i was checking out Justice For girls on line and OMG half the stuff there looks like it is stuff we have made! So that made me happy:thumbsup2 though I am sure i will still have to buy her more stuff from there come spring.

LOL! How did you guess? I have piles of laundry that needs ot get done! But my sink if clean - nothing worse than a pile of dirty dishes!

DD is rebelling against customs. Sometimes she loves the twirl tops/jumpers but does not want anything on her jeans. And forget about bows! I can only get her to wear bows for pictures now.
How old is she that she is rebelling?!?!? tell her no she has to wear the bows they are so cute on her!

HTH---Let me know if you did not get my emails ( I am having computer issues:sad2: )

She can't grow up yet??? Did you forget to tell her???!

Emily is only 6! I'm hoping it's a phase. She's funny, because she'll see something and ask me to make her an outfit - OLIVIA, and Phineas & Ferb just recently. But then changes her mind and doesn't want it. *Sigh* Granted if she asks for it and I make it she WILL wear it. She did like the Minnie set I made last week, all except for the jeans. But she did keep it on all day and asked to wear it to school. So there is still hope.

Do not tell me this! I will be sooooooooooooo sad when Hannah says no more bows but you know we do not have the jeans problem. ;)

I'm guessing you may be a perfectionist? :scratchin I think it looks adorable.
:rotfl:

oh stop, its very cute! When you say the stitching is too loose do you mean the stitching length needs to be smaller or your tension needs to be adjusted? I was thinking if you don't like the way the stitching looks, you could cover it with rickrack or ribbon in a coordinating color. Some of the colors in the dress are really prominent, like the pink in the straps and the brown of the eggs but not clearly tied to other fabrics in the dress. Using the embellshments could bring it all together a little bit better and help cover up the loose stitching. Does that make sense? Hope it might help!

I mean the tension is off, so do i just adjust it until it looks right? :confused3
Yeah, the stupid me didn't buy enough fabric for the straps and that is why the look bad. Thank you for all of the ideas!!!! :thumbsup2 She will not be wearing this for easter...lol I was just going to let her wear it around the house until i make a nicer one with different fabric (I found a pink pasley (sp) fabric at Walmart )

Linnette

Linette...you're absolutely right! I'd forgotten that! I'm lazy and do a half-back stitch too.... It's been a long time since I made anything with darts for myself....I'm always sewing for my yardstick dds!:lmao:

Those pics/demos are really good! Any that I had had me scratching my own head after reading, and I know what I'm doing! lol

Pictures coming soon! Uploading now.

I dropped my memory card going down the steps, trying to carry it, the camera and 13 shirts I think. So come up, get the one out of Dallas' camera and use it. There are 97 movies of nothing on his camera! He'll just record little things and laugh or talk about them. It took forever for all of it to transfer! No telling how much room it just took on my computer!

I made Sawyer a Chip and Dale bowling shirt with my precious little bit of Chip/Dale fabric (it was gifted to me, but not available for sale anywhere that I know of). He LOVES it!

Just because I thought it was really sweet!
Kidsinheart_691x600.jpg
I LOVE it too. How cute. And the two of them are ADORABLE!!!
feel free to take the drive over the lake and come show me how to applique!
I think you all should host a Mom's Retreat to teach us how to applique ::yes::
This is one that I liked but DH shot down my idea of her wearing it for xmas pictures :guilty:
Dresses08002.jpg
They are both very cute, as is your dd. :p to dh veto
Just got back from the fabric store. I was looking for material to make a couple of girl things for the Art's and Crafts Auction at the kids' school. This is what I came back with. Opinions please. I don't have much confidence in my fabric picking skills for girls.

This is for an A-line and a pair of Capris with cuffs. Probably a small size, like 18 - 24 mos.
And this is for a Simply Sweet. Probably in a size 3 or 4.

They are both cute. I really like this combo. I'm not good at the color combo thing either.
Granny update...MUCH improvement today. She is able to put 9 words together!:cool1: She is feeling great...they started her new meds today. We will see how she is doing with that later.

Good news is...Disney is now paid for
So glad to hear your Granny is doing better.
:cool1: on Disney being paid for
Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. She is still feeling ok right now, but her body is slowly starting to reject the chemo. We look forward to getting away with her and celebrating what could be her last bday in grand style at Disney. I am grateful that my kids will have those memories and pictures to cherish forever. I am just sad that my DS 2 1/2 probably won't really remember her which breaks my heart!
I will keep your family in my prayers.
I have a few little finishes to share:

Here is two water bottle holders that are part of a Big Give parcel!

Andrew in his nice cozy Mickey hoodie. That was quick and easy to make!

Alison
What a cute idea for the water bottle. I'm so glad you posed that hoodie. I'm getting ready to make one for Drew & Ryan. Quick and easy is right up my alley :)
this is the outfit

Linnette
Linnette it is ADORABLE!!! I would put that on my boy any day. Absolutely Amazing.
Tim's animal outfit made to coordinate with his sisters Valentine animal print outfits - do you think the heart on the shirt is too girlie? It means he loves animals - which he does...(he is 4)???

100_0639.jpg
Very cute. I would leave the heart. I think it's fine for a 4 yr old
I love the brooms Jessica. One of my favorite movies. And the other one is super cute ::yes::
I'm really have no self esteem!!! That's why I keep postponing going to school for fashion ( I was supposed to start back on August) as I really feel that I do not have the talent:blush: and specially when I see some of the outfits posted here--unbelievable!!!!!---
GO!! You are more than qualified for Fashion School. Pure Talent
I so wish I had smocked when Hannah was little. I didn't even know about smocking then though... until I realized my MIL taught smocking classes and didn't make my DD any dresses.
Well shame on that Gramma! I've always love the look of smocking
Is that a flouncy skirt?? I haven't made very many skirts. I have no clue. I want to get a skirt pattern.
I can imagine the difficulties sewing in a circle!!!
It is a flouncy. Like everyone said, It's one pattern I will never regret paying for. So many options and sizes. I can see eBook buying becoming a fast addiction
They both look great and no one will see the flaws when they are on and being twirled around, believe me, I know.

Thanks. Good thing she loves to twirl :)

Okay, here we go!

And I finally figured out how to get three large shirts to hang nicely on my clothes line!

The cuties were my last minute shirts. Dallas saw 2 jibbitz I got me that were cuties and wanted the Mickey one. Then I saw how cute this clipart was and fell in love. Dallas did not act thrilled about Pluto, but he'll wear it and Lin said he would wear it too. These are our Valentine's Day outfits, but we leave that day so will wear them earlier in the week. I was going to put a heart in Minnie's hand but now I don't feel like it.

101_9096.jpg

And those are my quickie Animal Kingdom shirts.

101_9105.jpg

Dallas' for the campfire if we go or Epcot. I am not real sure now that I kind of have an extra set of outfits what we will wear when. I CASED Dale (or is it Chip).

We leave in about 16 hours! Now to start packing and check the weather.

Those are just TOO cute!!! Amazing job!

I heard it is terribly cold in Florida right now so pack layers. We were there last February and I only grabbed one sweatshirt and jeans for each of my children and what a mistake. They wore them just about everyday! It was so cold and I wasn't expecting it. I wished I had grabbed the winter coats!

I have to admit it tool me a minute to figure out how this could be a skirt! LOL then I realized it was the Flouncy skirt al laid out pretty! I seriously need more coffee this am! LOL Great job! I should really make one for Nik's AG doll. I am working on one right now and if I have extra i may make one for the doll.

Get the flouncy skirt pattern it is so cute! I can't wait to see your applique!
LOL had to lay it out because Madilynn was sleeping. You should make one for Nik's AG doll. It was a bigger hit here than her's was.

I agree, the flouncy skirt pattern is super cute

When I first got my embroidery machine I would test out the designs on felt playing around. I had to make a patch for an outfit and just used stablizer, it was like a dream to sew on vs anything else, so practice up with that! I know it won't be but a month or so down the road and your appliques will be in tip top shape!
Is that a guarantee??? :)
Oh...he decided to help me clean last night :sad2:
Oh no :( Any luck finding the missing pieces??
How adorable she is! Love the outfits you made
IMG_0774.jpg
a nightgown for my niece and I also made one for my girlfriends dd. I was so happy i found the fabric which is satin backed with flannel for 2.5 a yard!!!!

shorts i made for my nephew. I made Kyle pj's with the same material.

A flouncy skort i did for Nik.
IMG_0778.jpg
Good deal on the super cute nightgown. Super cute pj's & skort too
Okay, so who wants to take a little trip to Disneyland today?
ME! I want to go to Disneyland today

The HM is done on my machine. I did buy the designs off ebay, they were $40 or $50. This is the MOST expensive outfit Dallas has EVER worn! Pretty sad since the shirt was $5 and jeans probably $14.
It's very cute. You are amazingly talented too
And a trip to California is never complete without going to Hollywood!
I agree. We always try to include something extra when we fly down.
Dallas has been bugging me about going back and I keep checking airfare but yet to take the plunge. Anyone going again this October??
I really want to go back too. I'm trying to plan a girls only trip to CA for Feb 19-23. No one knows if I do then I'm going to sneak in a day of Disney. If I let them in on that secret I'm sure the trip would be vetoed.

You think those canyons are pretty? You should really come visit me if you want to see canyons!

Adorable girls & outfits.
I have to agree you live by some beautiful canyons. We loved it when we were there last April

Jessica...everything is amazing! You have really been on a creative roll lately!

Linette, I am missing several pages of reading, but saw your Donald outfit from someone elses quote...anyway, it's stunning!

Hi Guys!!

WOW - those shirts are AWESOME!!!!! I love the Pluto one, why doesnt Dallas like it? I love the peoples too - we had an iron on with the same people on it for Night of Joy 2007 - it was cool cause it had 11 peoples on it!!! lol!!!

Hey, my inlaws are in Florida right now, and they said it is COLD!!!! They live in Tx, so it may be all relative to what you are used to??? But, maybe toss in a few extra layers??? And maybe even some gloves - lol....your hands get cold waiting for Spectromagic when its chilly out!!!!:rotfl:

Have wonderful trips everyone!! And if any one sees Jeff Gordon there (he said tonight on TV he was going there to take his little girl Ella) get his autograph for me????? lol

Jessica!!! These are awesome!!! We need to chat when you get back . . . okay!

I just saved that same Minnie last night. I guess great minds think alike. Have a wonderful trip, have a safe drive and take lots and lots of pics!!!! Make sure you get a napping pic. They are always my favorite.

Oh I love that outfit. Your dd is a cutie
OK here are the pics:

DSC_0025.jpg
Very cool! I know a couple of boys that would love those
She did just what I would do with the twirling. Great minds think alike, Maddilynn!:thumbsup2
I'll tell her you said so :)
Oh that is so much prettier with a model. Your DD looks so happy in her skirt.
Thank You. She loves it. Twirling is now her passion
Here is the final outfit I made for Leighanna, and a couple of t-shirts for us to match. Yes, we like matchy, matchy whenever possible on vacation!
Simply Stunning. You are going to be one well dressed family:thumbsup2
