OMG I just gave myself a heart attack!! I was looking at our fridge on amazon and put it in my shopping cart to see when it could be delivered...How bout I hit ORDER instead of back???? I just ordered the damn fridge to come to MY house! LOLOL Thank goodness you can cancel right away...which I did. I so DON'T need that at my house.

The second I hit the button I knew...started screaming. LOLOL Was pretty funny. Not ordering from Amazon...price for the same fridge at Walmart was $50 more!! Even w/ free shipping, not a good deal! This IS still the budget board after all!!

Belinda, I'm really sorry. We waited as long as we could, we had to get moving on this. You may have heard the dis is shutting down any swaps that are not free, we had to jump or we'd lose our swap entirely. So after several days went by and we didn't hear from you, we naturally assumed you weren't interested any longer. It wasn't a decision we made lightly, I can assure you. If you'd like I can put you in as an alternate? If I come across any other swaps with your dates open, I will definitely send them your way!!

My mom is Stage 3 Alzheimers. So I definitely know what you're going through. My dad takes care of her and I try to take her at least once month for overnight. Another sister takes her for an evening every week. It's hard to go through that.

My grandmother also has Alzheimers. She is 95 and in a nursing home, she recently fell and broke her hip. I really feel for those of you going through this with your parents. My grandmother doesn't remember us at all, and when we visit we talk about the same thing over and over (usually our greyhound that we bring with us - Tinkerbell) because she doesn't remember what she just said.

On a brighter note, I see that more people are checking in/paying. Any word from our June people?

I heard from everyone on the list as far as confirming dates. I've updated everyone who paid with a pretty pink Paid.

Thanks to everyone who was quick with the payments. Walmart takes 7-10 business days to deliver, so we'll need to order quick in time for Shena (sm723om) to get it in time for her check-in!! Still haven't found a better place to order it from.

Since we're not ordering a coffee maker, (and I don't know how to get the poll OFF) if anyone wants to donate one, that would make lots of people happy.

Wasn't there talk about Wegoshop or someone buying it and delivering it? It was on the original thread - other swaps have used this service and said it was great. I think Schoonersky might know about it.

I just emailed Marge from WeGoShop to ask if she'll do it. Her site www.wegoshop.com says she charges $22 for delivery, plus 3% for using a CC (which amounts to a whopping $5 or so), and 10% for a tip if she has to leave it at luggage services (totally understandable!) It'd be a lot easier to use her, that's for sure!! I thought about sending the entire paypal balance to our first swapper so she can pay cash, but paypal takes a cut...would rather pay Marge than paypal!

What kind of cleaning supplies to we need? Still waiting for everyone to pay, but once they do we should enough for whatever we need to get us started. I was thinking like Clorox wipes, paper towels...any input??

How about also purchasing tape, markers and paper? I would think Clorox wipes and paper towels would be enough as far as cleaning supplies go.

Markers and paper are fine...but the tape would need to be taped INSIDE the box . Don't know how that would work. Every swap I was in we needed to bring our own tape. And it takes a lot of tape to seal the box...

Well, if tape can be boxed, you'd have to get the tape used to close it laid out in strips on the counter in order to be able to put the roll in the fridge. But, then again, everyone can hopefully also bring their own tape. Either way, I don't care.

This is true. However, if you have little ones who like to play with tape, the tape will be in a big ball before you can get the box closed. I'll have Marge pick up a roll of tape (if she agrees to the fridge, of course...still haven't heard back from her. Maybe tomorrow.)

I mentioned earlier (somewhere) that last time I did a swap, I forgot to bring tape. The front desk was kind enough to lend it to me, but I had to promise to bring it right back. LOL I don't think it's something we can count on, but if the tape thing doesn't work for someone, it doesn't hurt to ask.

We could somehow attach the tape to the outside of the box...Maybe someone will figure it out along the way. I'm sure by the time I get the fridge, all the kinks will be smoothed out.

And YES, it is 3:20AM and I CAN'T SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DH is snoring like a chainsaw...so much going on in my head anyway. If only I could turn it off.......... So, here I am....and .

It does simplify things to do face to face. The last fridge I got was SO taped up it took quite a while to get it open. LOL Scissors or a knife would've helped immensely...but all I had were keys.

Oh yeah! I was checking the threads often for my Sept spot! I am so excited I got in before the guantlet was dropped!

Great - a face to face swap is much easier! Maybe we can even do it the night of the 4th maroo? Not that I know what we are doing yet with the park hours not released...

I am actually landing at 11:30 PM...so I probably won't be at the POP till after midnight. Not sure you want to stay up that long.

I don't have my plans yet for the 5th, but I *think* we are going to take it easy and probably do AK in a relaxed fashion, so I could probably meet you on the morning of the 5th, even fairly early? Would that work for you?

And I am not sure how to transition to the next person? Do we usually try to do this in person? This is my first swap. And last, evidently.
