Thx for the info. I am stunned at the amount of info and advice you provide. Still working my way thru this thread for new stuff.
It pleases me to help and I love sharing all the great things about WL.

Kook you are one of my besties...and you give us all a run for our money with your ch-ch-changes....and I agree, all our welcome to the RC party!!!

FWIW, how many times have I announced a change to WL on this thread before one actually stuck....and our lovely Candace....:rolleyes2

She IS amazing! And the pics :worship:
You go right ahead and announce as many changes to WL as you like, as long as the last one sticks:thumbsup2

It won't be long now until you're in your Honeymoon Suite:love:

Can anyone tell me the hours the busses start running to the MK and EPCOT, etc.? Also how early do the boats run to CR and MK?
The Blue Flag boat starts running from WL around 0645. The buses start running about one hour prior to park opening. This sign is from the CR:

Woohooo! We're booked for the WL CV this October! Thanks to you guys, I went ahead and called Disney directly and spoke with a wonderful Mario. He was very enthusiastic about a possible room only discount that will be coming very soon (since we're staying during the FD blackout). Hoping we can get some sort of discount on the trip! ADRs so far at 1900 Park Fare, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Whispering Canyon. Next, I need to order tickets to MNSSHP. This will be a birthday celebration for our 13 and 9 years old daughters. princess:
Oh, that's great and I do hope a discount is announced for your dates. Make sure the birthdays are noted in your reservation. Your ADRs sound super!

I know that I read about the WL music but now I can't find it? Can anyone direct me to that info????

Page 1 of this thread has a link :)
Thanks, Minnie. Here is the MouseSavers link from page one/post #1:

I like the way this Mario guy is talking!! Looking forward to hearing more about fall room discounts too - it often saves is more $ than free dining!

We ar SO jazzed :banana::banana:

And thank you for being you & so wonderful. You are KOOKerrifc

BTW, DH still can't believe we are still booked there :rotfl:

Speaking of music, I know I saw somewhere the name of the music they play on the bus to the WL. I really like that piece but just can't find it anymore. Has anyone seen it who does remember where that was?

Just 7 more weeks till I know if I can start planning a trip for may next year.... :hourglass

Hello everyone! I was hoping you could give me some reassurance as to the boat transportation to MK. I was reading some reviews of WL on another site and three people recently said that the boat transports to MK had spiders in them  I am sure that there will be bugs after all we are in the woods, but DD is terrified of spiders and I am hoping that they are not as bad as these reviewers made them seem; they made it sound like the boat was crawling with them  I have taken the boat transports from YC to BW and have come in contact with bees an flies, but no spiders. Oh and we are going in December so not sure if the cooler weather will make a difference either :confused3

Just chiming in how much I love the information you provide here. I just added two more days to the front of my Sept trip, and VWL was still open!! That's got to be good news for a low-crowd trip, right? :lovestruc

Anyways, thanks again to you all.

My DD8 is bug-o-phobic and she was fine on the WL boats. We actually did see spider webs between some of the rails but no actual spiders...and there were some flies but that's it. I would have been skeeved out by spiders too!
We were fine!

OMG I have been trying to find out what that music is for years...I will buy the first person who can tell me a Dole Whip!!

pas130-you are so right... the Grand thread was very helpful when planning our trips there:) and because of the info on it helped us make the decision to change this trip:(

This thread was instrumental in helping us decide where to go once we decided we needed to switch. Thanks so much WDWKook :thumbsup2

We, too, are excited about staying WL CL... like I said on the RC thread, will have to go to the Grand for some gingerbread:woohoo:

We are leaving today and we only saw one spider on the boats. We did see lots of lizards and the grounds and one snake this morning.

Kookrific?! You crack me up. You must keep all your patients in stitches:rotfl:

DH can't believe you've kept this reservation? I can't either. Just think what a BIG surprise it'll be for DH when you actually drive-up to WL:yay:

I'm sorry that I don't know the name of the music played on the buses, but hopefully someone else will. I did find a 2009 site that lists music played in various WDW resorts:

I think you win the prize for being the first to ask this question!

Awww, thank you, Kathy:). Adding days is wonderful, plus you're arriving two days earlier:thumbsup2. Congrats on getting VWL!

You're welcome and I'm glad you made it over to the RC thread to share your change to WL/CL.

It's so nice and friendly over on the GF thread, and I feel bad for everyone who planned their 'dream' trips to the GF and have been met with tough decisions to make on whether to book/change or not. We all know rationally that the GF will be better than ever when all the rehabs are done, but it's hard to get past the thought of vacationing in the midst of so much construction and disruption.

We are leaving today and we only saw one spider on the boats. We did see lots of lizards and the grounds and one snake this morning.
Yep, lizards, snakes, a gator in the Otter Pond, probably an otter near the otter pond, frogs, deer, armadillo, ducks, Palmetto bugs... I've seen pretty much everything, but I have no memory of spiders:confused3.

Hello!
Finally joined today after spending many, many hours reading this thread - what an amazing amount of information, thank you all. Looking VERY forward to our first stay at WL in September. We are booked in the courtyard view bunk bed category.

We will arrive very late in the evening on September 18 and look forward to driving up to the WL and seeing it all lit up. When we first visited in 2008 our jaws dropped when we walked in the lobby and we always said one day we'd love to stay here and now we are lucky enough to be able to for 11 nights!

Now if only it could be September! Looking forward to reading more to keep the excitement level going.

:welcome: to the DIS and our little WL/VWL thread LuvGoldens! We're honored to have your first post here.

Eleven nights is going to be so wonderful and a CV is just amazing. Just make sure you request an INNER or WL CV if you want a view of the pool, geyser and Bay Lake. We've never run out of things to do or felt a stay was ever too long at WL. And, it's great that you can go after all the kids are back in school and the weather is getting a little cooler.

After many stays, I'm still in awe of the incredible lobby and theming. I still walk at a snail's pace when I first walk into the lobby so I can take it all in - you'll be doing the same thing.

I've never arrived in the dark, but I imagine it will be so exciting to wake up the next day, look out your window and take it all in:goodvibes. Let us know if you have any questions and congratulations on booking your first stay at WL.
