please pixie dust fairy - save a new North Wing room for me... lots and lots of people are counting on me getting pictures for them :)

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust

Sending this your way! I really want to see those pictures:tinker:

Thanks. We will be there November 16-22, 2013. It is the week before Thanksgiving. I saw notes on Mousesavers that public discounts were offered but no %. Of course this doesn't count pins. I of course have thrown away all the recent discount offers that I got for this year at that time since we didn't need them.

Ok, so last year for those dates with a PIN,

35% Deluxe/Villas
30% Moderate
25% Value
Free Dining on 6+ night regular priced packages

Public Discounts were,

30% Deluxe
20% Moderate
15% Value
Free Dining on 6+ night regular priced packages (Offered a few weeks after PIN)

Both offers included Club Level but not Deluxe Rooms. I received my PINS for November Offers the second week of September. When we had our Disney wedding all of the rooms were booked under my name so I get a LOT of PINS. Wish I could use them all!

I love that you archive your pin codes! I bet you have a beloved WDW 3-ring binder, too:thumbsup2. I've only found the historic discounts posted on MouseSavers, AllEars and Intercot. Does the DIS have them posted, too?

:rolleyes1 *whistles into the air* I can neither confirm nor deny the 3 ring binder ;)

Thanks for the info on prior discounts. I looks like it would be less than $100 difference so I will be booking 2 rooms. Now 2013 rates need to just come out.

We are getting ready for our vacation, leaving on May 13 until the 21st. Confused about what to request. We have a courtyard view room with bunk beds. I have read about some rooms that have been renovated?? what should I request?? we were thinking something close to main pool?? lower level?? First time staying here!!
Help!!

Just a reminder to ask when you check-in if you've been assigned the North Wing so that you can have a rehabbed room.

That answered my question::yes::

When you check-in, only the Club Level's North Wing (7th floor) will have been finished.

The Silver Creek Springs (main) pool is in the courtyard of WL, so any WL courtyard room will be close to the pool. But, if you want to be able to walk right out onto your patio and to the pool, you'll need to request a ground floor room and make sure that if you want a view of the WL courtyard that you request an INNER or WL courtyard view. Otherwise, "courtyard" can also mean the VWL courtyard.

You're going to love WL and feel free to post more questions if you have any.

We are back from the WL and not happy about it :)
We had an awesome stay CL this time. Very nice. I will be getting photos together and doing a little review in the next day or so. We checked in about 1030am. First time ever we were greeted as we pulled the car up. Escorted to the 7th floor and checked in. Room was 7112 facing the VWL which I would request again in a heartbeat over a pool view/inner courtyard view any day. It was so quiet. Room was very clean. CL lounge was nice and staff very friendly. Lodge seemed crowded this time around especially by the pools.
Looked like construction was going on around the 6th floor also as it was blocked off by drapes. I asked CL if the had any photos or if they have seen the new rooms but they said no. Stay tuned ;)
You had me worried there when I read: "We are back from the WL and not happy about it." But, I kept reading and was happy to see that you loved your stay. BTW, those CMs are sworn to secrecy:ssst:

Thanks for posting about your trip, cburek. Did you book a BB?

We originally requested upper floor courtyard but ended up with ground floor, bunk beds- best location we could have asked for with 2 small kids who wanted a pool and the ability to explore the grounds.

You're little one has been through so much .

She has, but she's a tough little girl. You'd never guess there's a thing wrong with her (especially when she's mad about something). :)

I'm guessing deluxe are considered suites when it comes to discounts. I ran a few proposed vacations through the system - with discounts (I used both the free dining package and the room only discount) and without. The deluxe rooms showed up for those dates with no discount, but weren't available with the discounts. I suppose it's possible that Disney had a few of those rooms available when the discounts were first released, but I'm going to assume they just don't qualify. A deluxe room was still cheaper than booking two CL rooms with the 30% discount.

I was so tempted to book something. I need the 2013 prices to come out so I can get this thing started already. :)

:cool1: Just booked our flights! Good thing I waited so long, we saved almost$200! 3 rt tix for $801.30 HPN to MCO.:cool1:

How exciting - it seems more real now!

Yay! For saving money!!! :yay:

Speaking of savings... Last night I read in the AllEars Newsletter that the Wild Africa Trek (that I just booked for our anniversary), decreased rates by $50 per person for treks after 11:45. I had the IPO change our time from 10:15 to 11:45 and we were credited $159:thumbsup2

That's Great! :thumbsup2 I wish we could do the treck but DD will only be 7 when we go. :( Maybe next year...

She sounds like a real trooper and I'm sure she's as precious as can be :cutie:.

I am also waiting for the 2013 rates to come out as I want to book for June next year. But then again, I've changed resorts so many times in my mind already that once I book I may be in trouble :rolleyes1......I might be making alot of phone calls and making alot of resort changes between now and next summer :rotfl: :rotfl:.

She said everything was fine after that...it was obviously on the other wing (south wing), so they weren't able to hear the noise anymore. Just thought I'd share her experience.

Very interesting. They were supposed to have a buffer between floors, meaning that when your friend was there, they should have been working (and still are) on the 7th floor, North Wing. The 6th floor, NW, should be vacant. Which floor was your friend on that was noisy? What did she think of CL? It sounds like WL really tried to make her happy and I hope she'll return, despite the noise.
.

When I was at the WL from 4/16-4/20, the construction was just beginning. We were CL so we got a decent view from our inner courtyard room of the North Wing. No - not so good that we could see what was going on! I can confirm, however, that there is a buffer floor between the work zone (7th floor, North Wing) and the floors beneath. The 6th floor was closed, the sheer curtains were drawn in toward the middle and bound and the mattress was leaned up against the glass. Perhaps they were already prepping for some of the work to come? As far as the noise goes, when we arrived at approx. 1:30 PM on Monday, April 16 (1st day of construction?) the noise in the lobby was so loud that I seriously doubted booking a reservation at WL. Upon arriving at the 7th floor, the CM had to shout in order to check us in and give us a tour of the OFL. She apologized repeatedly for the noise and explained that they were ripping up the carpets (with jack hammer or some other very loud device). The noisy episode quickly passed (we couldn't hear it in our room or if we could it was very minimal and not a disturbance). From that point on, there was no noticeable noise from the construction during our stay. To play devil's advocate however, we were out of the room during the noisy hours for the rest of the days. One benefit to being there during the reno of 1/2 the 7th floor was that the OFC/lounge was half as crowded!

One point to note, if you do request a newly renovated room in the next few weeks, be aware that you may be dealing with noise from the floor below you as I'm not sure the floor above will be a buffer zone. If it is, the then newly renovated 7th floor wouldn't be available until they were done with the 6th floor.

I'm not planning to do a whole trip report, however one other thing that I wanted to mention on the boards is that a while back someone had commented/complained that the snacks/apps/desserts were not replenished. I, in my very limited experience, can only say that the exact opposite was true. Even at 5 minutes before closing, when the tray of sushi was empty, they put out a fresh one. Everything was kept replenished in a very timely manner. The only complaint I could have is that there aren't always drinks available. That would have been a very nice touch for when you get back from the parks and just want a soda but the lounge is closed. However, the homemade potato chips with ranch dip may just make up for it! :-)
