How about booking a Woods View without the bunks? Would that work for your dates? In the meantime, I'll get my handy eraser out for the LL.

We love the Courtyard View too much :). We did get a standard CV room with the new dates and was able to save $800, so I'm not too upset.

It just means one less day at WL but I get 2 extra days at WDW because we booked some nights at Pop ;)

So excited! We leave three weeks from tomorrow. Staying at the wilderness for the first time, can't wait to see the holiday decorations. I do have a question tho.. How are the locks on the doors? Do they have a latch on the top. I have a little one and I wouldn't want him trying to run out of the room. Thanks!!

The doors have a latch and a deadbolt.

Sooooo..... I forgot to add my room request to my reservation and now I'm 5 days out from arrival. Is it too late to add one now? I thought I had read that at a week out the room assigners look at the requests.

We booked a CV to see the water pageant and really don't want to have the villa courtyard view...

It wouldn't hurt to call right away and have the requests added. You have nothing to lose. :) They might not have assigned the rooms yet.

7 Days out from our stay at the beach club for one night, 8 days til wilderness lodge.

I am getting anxious. I called and was told christmas decorations start to go up at Wilderness Lodge later this week!

I am hoping to blog the install of the tree the night of 11/18, which is the date an "insider" told me its going up. I will post the link to the site here.

Hi there! New to Disboards and we will be staying at WL in May/June for the first time. I am curios about when traveling to Epcot is it easier to take the monorail from Contemporary or the bus?

Much easier to take the bus directly from the hotel. To take the monorail you would need to get to the Ticket and Transportation Center, because that is the only place you can get on the Epcot monorail (other than Epcot).

Thanks for the info!

I'm having so much fun reading everyone's comments!! I still have 80+ days to go but I'm starting to feel excited!!!
For the experts- is there a good place to view the Super Bowl, I would like to have an option for DH and the kids to watch at least the first part of the game {and commercials ;)}first thought was the territory lounge area or getting drinks/snacks and just watching in our room- which might be fun. Not sure what the lounge is like since I've never been but I'm looking forward to unwinding her a few nights!!!!!
Can't wait to see everyone's updates who have trips coming up!!

Grace

The bus stops at Fort Wilderness first, but I still think that will be easier.

Bus is easier, but the monorail is more fun. We just count on an hour to get to Epcot and hop the monorail.

I would think that the Territory Lounge would be a very good place to watch the Super Bowl. They have at least one TV in the lounge. :)

Just returned from a quick visit from the World and booked a BB offer for WLSVCL April 19-24. DD will be going with her band to march before the electrical parade at night at MK. I do not want to be a chaperone, but I do want to see her march at Disney! They only had SV with 2 queens for CL vs WVCL or CVCL with bunkbeds. Not happy with that, I'm going to keep my eye out for AP discounts to see if any other rooms without bunkbeds open up on CL. So, a nice trip to look forward to and keep me alive through the upcoming winter months! lol

Quick question - are there any Woods View rooms at WL where you can also see the Magic Kingdom? Can you specifically request MK view rooms at WL?

We booked a bounce back for April when we were at the WL last month and I was very disappointed in the limited choices for the room only discount. We couldn't get anything at the BC. And when I checked to see if there were any WL rooms available with the bounce back discount for our January trip, they said there was only CV bunk bed rooms available. I am hoping that they open up more rooms for the bounce back later. It is ridiculous to have such limited availability so early in the offer period. :confused3

Some of the woods view rooms in the north wing have a view of Cinderella's castle. We had a great view of the castle from room 6010 and there are other rooms that can see it, too. But you can't really see the Magic Kingdom, just the tall buildings like the castle and maybe Space Mountain. There are just too many trees in the way. You get a great view of the Contemporary, though, and some rooms see the monorail, too. :) I think that if you request a MK view they should know exactly what you are looking for. :)

I was hoping to be able to see Wishes from our room one night. Can you see Wishes from the beach?
