Sounds like you've been staying in the South Wing. We've stayed on both sides of the upper/ inner courtyard (CL) and the views are very similar ... either side will probably have some of the floats blocked a bit but it's still a nice view and show.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this info - it's greatly appreciated!

Hope no one minds me posting that we're very excited to have booked a spring break stay at our Bay Lake neighbor, CR:goodvibes

I just have to share this with someone! We booked a deluxe club level room for May 2-10, 2015 at rack rate. It was painful, but I was hoping that the room would be included in the room only discounts that will come out eventually or we would get a AAA discount or SOMETHING. Well, for the first time I can remember I got an offer code postcard in the mail. I called tonight, and it worked! We saved 35% off of the room, which ended up being around a $2500 savings! I was so excited, I had figured it wouldn't work on a deluxe room or something. So now i can relax, as I doubt I'll get anything better (but of course I'll keep an eye on it anyway ;) )

(I've been following this thread since we booked a month ago or so. We actually got married at the WL back in 2003 on the balcony overlooking the courtyard, and stayed there again in 2009 for my birthday. Then, about 9 months later, we had a new member of the family join us :) I can't imagine how that happened :rotfl2: )
That's terrific! Usually the Deluxe rooms aren't discounted so you really did well. So, where will that $2,500 be going:scratchin. Love that you came back from WL with a souvenir;)

Well, we checked in today! :cool1: Our room was actually ready when we arrived at 8:30 a.m.! We went to AK and MK for MNSSHP! It was awesome :) I did take some pics of the construction from our room. We are on the 6th floor with a courtyard view. I will try to post them tomorrow. We couldn't really hear the construction from our room while watching tv, but it was loud on our balcony! Can't wait to see what the next few days has in store for us!
That was great that your room was ready so early:thumbsup2. It's so relaxing to check-in and be able to immediately get settled and have all your luggage delivered. Looking forward to your photos.

Oh one more question. We will ask for south wing but are there connecting rooms for standard view? We are booking two rooms since we are bringing our friends for their first ever trip to WDW!
Make sure that your reservations are linked and that you've requested connecting rooms (with a door in between). There must be the same amount of SV connecting rooms in both wings:confused3, so they will do their best to accommodate you. If they can't do connecting, they should be able to do adjoining (next to each other).

I'm sure this info is here somewhere, but I'm hoping someone will help me anyway. I just switched our resort from POFQ to Wilderness Lodge! We have stayed there before always in a courtyard view room. I am going to request inner courtyard as we like to have a view of the electric water pageant. Previously, we've always been assigned a room in the right-hand wing (same side as the elevators off the lobby). I'm not sure if that's the north or south wing? And does it matter in regards to the view of the water pageant? Thanks so much!!
Congratulations on changing to WL!

We arrived at the WL this morning around 11:30am and our room was ready. We got both our requests, near lobby and open balcony. We have a view of the inner courtyard and the stream runs just below our balcony. We are very happy with the location. We could not have gotten a better room. We don't hear very much construction noise from here. I checked out the quiet pool and it only had about a dozen people in it. And there were plenty of open chairs.

When we checked in I asked if we could have the $50 per night room discount for the inconvenience of not having the main pool. The CM gave me a funny little look and said sure, she could arrange that. I know that they wouldn't have offered it if I hadn't asked. ;). I also asked if they could give our daughter a room near ours and they got it a couple doors away. She was great!

The only bad part is that our luggage isn't here yet. We landed about four hours ago. :(

More later. We've been up since 3:30am and need a nap. :)

Why did you decide not to put your luggage on the ME with you? I've never used ME, but I've read that guests do that to ensure their luggage goes with them:confused3. I hope you get all your luggage soon after your nap.

I had no idea you could ask for the credit upon arrival. I had only read of guests calling and speaking to Guest Services about the $50 credit. Good information for everyone - thanks:thumbsup2

One of the perks of ME is that you don't have to handle your luggage at MCO. You tag your luggage at your departure airport (ME sends special tags) and then they magically arrive in your room at Disney "up to 3 hours after check-in." Most people use the ME luggage service; very, very few ME riders take their luggage onto the bus themselves.

Oh my gosh we were out at the pool til 3:45! Maybe you noticed a tall young man with a green water shirt and blue bathing suit singing in the pool! That would be Adam:)
Dinner ADR 6:30 Trails End.
We received one of 2 bags and have been told missing will arrive on a different truck! Our plane landed at around 10:00. We must have just mussed you at the ME this morning we were first on the bus and then had yo sit n wait while they filled the bus!
I also asked about the discount and got a funny look the CM Rob said he would ck about discount then when we came back from pool there was a different CM who knew nothing about it! Was a little disappointed in the size n darkness of room but getting used to it. Can't help comparing to Great Wolf Lodge which has huge spacious rooms similar theme.

Just HAPPY to be here.

Until today, my family and I were staying at ASMu for our first night next week due to not being able to add that night to our free dining res(long, long story). We figured, hey let's save some money. Well yesterday I was able to book Hoop Dee Doo Revue for that night (Wednesday). So today we decided to go for it and changed our res to the Lodge for next Wednesday night! AND I was able to use my passholder discount for 35% off. :cool1: New dates, 10/29-11/2.

We'll be at the Lodge in 7 sleeps! :dance3:

We added a night to our trip so that we could take a later flight and not expect my 2 granddaughters to be at their best in MK after getting up at 4:30 am to go to the airport, fly from NH to Orlando, check in at the resort and then get to the park...not sure that Grammy would have been at my best!

So we added a night but are staying at AOA that first night to lessen the budget impact and to see the Little Mermaid room. We are now coming in on 12/26 and expect to land at MCO around 6:30 pm and utilize DME.

1st question: would you use your DME luggage tags or would you get your bags from baggage claim yourself and take them to the bus area. My concern is what time the bags would be delivered if we leave the whole process up to DME. While I don't expect us to try to get the girls to bed much before 9:30-10:00 I don't want to wait much later than that to get our bags.

2nd question: We want to check in at WL pretty early the next morning so we can pick up our rented stroller and make sure our park tickets and DDP are activated on our MBs before heading to MK. What's our best option for getting ourselves and our luggage from AOA to WL?

TIA

Hey guys! I have a couple CL questions, and I was hoping someone could help me. What exactly is served during lunch hours? (I believe the serving hours were 11:30-4) I saw a few pictures showing snacks such as gummy bears and chips, but is there any food? Also, to those who have been in the CL recently, are they still offering chicken nuggets? Thanks so much!!

1. I agree, we waited till midnight one trip for our luggage! I think your granddaughters are going to love AoA for a night! I wonder if you could just pack one carry on with a one days set of PJ's and tomorrow's clothes - enough to get you through the one night? I'm not sure how much luggage all you all will have, but maybe that's a compromise?

2. Traveling to WL, ask when you check in at AoA about transferring your luggage the next morning - (I'm not sure what the new routine is) but again, pack your "day pack" (maybe swimsuits?) and take a bus - (Does the Whispering Canyon have breakfast early, so Bus transportation? If not you might have to go to MK then transfer to a boat or bus from MK to WL) The other option is to call a taxi to get you from AoA to WL (maybe posting on the Transportation forum here on the Disboards will get a better answer than mine!)

I agree that the Transportation forum is the best place for your questions. But people here report good luck at least getting checked in early at WL even if the room isn't ready.

I was going to add that you are arriving at a VERY busy time. I would just plan for everything to take longer than average. So either pack a carry-on with everything you need for that first night or collect your own bags and avoid a late-night knock at the door.

I only have 2 experiences with DME, but our most recent had our bags take more than 5 hours to get to our room.

We were there last month. "Lunch" is snack time, which as you said was usually gummy bears and chips, as well as cookies, wasabi snack mix, and some yogurt covered pretzels. They also had sodas and beer during this time.

They had chicken nuggets one of our 4 night there.

Hello, we are here now staying CL level I was not impressed when we arrived around 12:00 but I am a "believer" now !!! CL staff this afternoon and his evening have been wonderful! My nephew was disappointed that there was no root beer in cooler and when the CM overheard him and found out he can't have caffeine and was tired of just drinking water and sprite he showed up at our door with several cans of root beer!

Snacks this afternoon included choc chip and sugar cookies, chips, gummy bears, and snack mix. Coke, diet coke, sprite, apple juice boxes, several kinds of beer in cooler. Also cranberry lemonade, ice tea available. Doors locked between 4:00pm -5:00pm. Then from 5pm to 7pm they served wine and cheese tray, P b& jelly shooters, chicken salad roll-ups, a chicken salad with veggies, small Roos with melted cheese, and tomato fennel soup.
Desserts tonite included apple cobbler (absolutely delicious), chocolate chip cookies, magic cookie bars, lemon bars, and s'mores tarts! Also wine, beer, and various Cordials were offered as well.

Sorry forgot to say no real food items offered during lunch time....also did not see any chicken nuggets out tonight. I will ask tomorrow morning if they have any kind of menu.

CL offerings change each night. For the appetizers at least. Most of the rest remains pretty constant.

Breakfast and Evening appetizers are the only "real food" they have. The rest is snacky stuff.

Kastoney and Angi thank you both Very much for helping!!!!

LSdolphin - thank you for helping as well!! I appreciate the detailed info!!! So sweet of you! My kids would definitely appreciate the nuggets, and even more so my DH who would be relieved he wouldn't have to run down to RF to get the kids food because they don't like anything!! LOL

Is there a menu posted up each night? If not, I can just keep Kooks list where I can easily access it. Thank you all again!!!
