So, I will be at WL Jan.19-27 for my Disneymoon...this will be my new husband's first time at DW...I mentioned that there are celebration buttons that we can wear...he balked...I was just wondering what examples people have of pixie dust when wearing the celebration buttons? I recognize the pixie dust is at CM discretion, but just looking for examples to convince my significant other the buttons are a good thing :) I can only dream of getting him to wear the tux mouse ears :p

One it's fun just having people congratulate you. Also we actually got a couple of free desserts (wasn't on dining plan). Also on the safari ride we got some special treatment being pulled through the line a little bit and given a while row in the back to ourselves. Tell him just do it it's fun :)

At Disney, let your Disney side shine!

we've never expected anything - but we have gotten lots of great congratulations from others, while in line for Muppets (my mom and dd were celebrating their birthday with buttons) People just started singing happy birthday! They got a cupcake at CRT, and I know they were sung to on Main Street -

mom did say it was exhausting and wouldn't wear the button all week! :lmao: (she is a people person and loves to talk to people,so of course she would go on and on! Surprised she didn't lose her voice!)

When we celebrated our Anniversary at Artist Point they gave us a glass of Champagne! :goodvibes

Besides the frequent verbal recognition you get by wearing the buttons, a nice way to get some special recognition / pixie dust is to note the celebration in your ADRs. That way the staff at the restaurant will often do a little something special to congratulate you, and it won't require any input on your husband's part. :thumbsup2

Just a quick heads up about discounts.

I made a November reservation at the WL a month or so ago and was only able to get rack rate - no discounts available. I just checked and suddenly both Passholder and Florida resident rates are available for our dates (11/17 - 20). I called CRO and was able to apply the Passholder rate and saved over $600! If you qualify for any discounts, I would suggest checking your dates.

Hi there!

We just booked Wilderness Lodge for 8/22 to 8/29. It will be me, DH and our two kids ages 14 and 9 at time of travel.

We have never stayed at WL before, so we are looking forward to it. We were supposed to stay here in August 2014, but for many reasons too boring to go into here, we had to switch our reservation to the Contemporary. I ended up not being all that thrilled with the Contemporary (theme there just not for me), so I'm glad I'm getting the chance for a "re-do" so to speak.

Can you add us the Lodger's Log?

11/29-12/07, 2015 WL-CL. We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and my husband's 45th birthday!

It wasn't hard for me to follow your trail…I think you took the concrete path over;). I still have you in our Lodgers' Log so I guess I didn't realize you had switched - welcome back.

Oh KOOK! I belong in the resort changers thread. We started at CBR because I insisted that I was NOT going to pay deluxe prices...then the free dining promotion came out and I jumped on the WL and of course, upgraded to deluxe dining...like I need it...but plan on using the table service time to get out of the Christmas crowds....then we decided to go to the BC so that we could walk to two parks because we got scared of transportation at the busy time...(AND NO...you probably didn't miss it...I probably forgot to tell you!) and now we are back because well...Christmas won't be Christmas at the Beach so it had to be the WL!

I just want to put my two cents in and tell you that you will LOVE the WL!

We love both the WL and the BC. :lovestruc One of the really nice things about the WL, besides the ease of travel to MK, is having a real counter service restaurant.

The boat ride to MK is about 12 minutes and the boats are usually 20 minutes or less apart. The line for the boat first thing in the morning can be rather long and sometimes you have to wait for the next boat. So I would give myself about 45 minutes to get there for rope drop. The bus might be safer if you want to get there for rope drop. Usually we aren't in a big hurry to get there at a certain time, so we usually take the boat. :)

It takes us about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to FW. It is one of our favorite things to do when we are staying there. :)

Thank you :goodvibes It's exciting to stay someplace new!

I hope so! I think my kids will be happy with it for sure.

I had actually told them we would not be visiting WDW for a while after our August 2014 trip, but then I booked this. I think I might keep this one a secret from them for a while. I've tried surprising them before (reaction was underwhelming to say the least), but they are older now and I think I just might get them good this time!

WDWKOOK! I'm finally getting back to The Lodge! Can you add me to the Lodgers Log VWL 2/22-26? :cool1:

He shall wear the button, at least for part of the week. He will get a reprieve when we visit Universal for a couple of days ;)

Thanks for the info...I've made three of our ADRs online, but I will call and have it noted :)

My daughter's best friend says decor is going up on 11/18, she works at WDW.

Oh shucks! I was hoping to get there before they were up in order to have that magical "they just popped up overnight" experience! Thanks for the headsup!

I gave question about the boat to MK. Is it a large boat where we could push the stroller on or do we have to fold it down?

They have both types of boats. They seem to alternate, so that if the wrong type arrives, just wait for the next one. :)

Hello,
What is the easiest / quickest way to get from WL to disney's ticket and transportation centre? Approx how long will this take?

Many thanks :goodvibes
