Glad to hear that the waterfall is now working, we will be there in 40 days time, not that I'm counting or anything :rolleyes1

We arrive this weekend.

Anyone have questions or photos they want answered/posted? I will not have access to CL, but otherwise I'm more than happy to check things out as I can.

That's great! I completely agree, I think it's a fantastic benefit! I'm crossing my fingers we'll get to try it out in November! How did you like the food in CL? Which part of the day did you enjoy most as far as the food went? Happy you had a good trip!

Thanks! I hope the texting service will be in full swing by your trip. It would definitely help to have that advantage while you are still in the park.

The food was fantastic! All of it! I don't think I tasted anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. Our philosophy for the parks is "hit rope drop and do afternoon breaks after lunch," so the food offerings at club level were perfectly timed for us. We don't have heavy appetites (especially in hot summers), so it's always been easy to overeat at Disney. We also prefer our lunches to be table service in the air conditioning in the summer, so our "big" ADRs were our lunches. In the OFC, we enjoyed the light continental breakfasts, snacks in the afternoon during our breaks, and the appetizers for our light dinners (since we were usually still full from our lunches). Then, we would hit the parks again in the evening, but usually make it back in time for a quick snack. We really enjoyed the evening cobbler and the cookies.

I think our favorite part would have been the evening cobbler. There is something about having a hot cobbler waiting for you after an exhausting day in the parks that just welcomes you and makes you feel at home. :) It's also nice to have drinks available at almost all hours.

I hope you have a fabulous vacation. :goodvibes I miss the lodge already!

JnKinVA, I'm so happy your plans have worked for you and DH. I used to always say "I'll believe he's home when the plane lands!" ::yes:: It's also great that you were able to receive the military discount for your stay. I know we're very appreciative of that privilege... it greatly helps our Disney budget. :)

Thank you for writing!! I read it out loud to my DH!! It really sounds wonderful! I really love how there's always something out and ready for you!! We always go back to the hotel for breaks, so it will be great to grab a bite while the kids rest. The drinks are great because I love my morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening in a relaxing atmosphere seems great to me!! We are really looking forward to it!! It's funny, after reading your post to DH about the cobbler he asked 'what time does dessert come out?!' Lol Thanks again!!!

If you could ask management if there is any other major maintenance, or courtyard construction going on before the planned pool rehad in late August, Sept... We are there soon and are hoping this is it for courtyard work being done.. Thank you for going out of your way to be so helpful :thumbsup2

We were at the WL the first week of Dec this past year and were able to spend some time in the pool. Kids will swim in just about any weather, so I'm sure they will be fine. We had highs ranging from the low 70's to the mid 80's during our stay. :) Housekeeping will bring you extra coffee, so you don't really need to buy any extra. I had left a note asking for extra coffee and I received enough for a ten day stay. :rotfl: It is the pods that look like a round tea bag. I used the filtered water from the drink dispenser in Roaring Forks for the coffee and it tasted pretty good.

Great news about the coffee! Thanks for the tip - the kiddos have already made little envelope for tips for the mousekeepers so I'm sure they will love to make little notes too! :)

are all the King rooms handicap accessible rooms? I would like a King but don't want to take away a HA room

Does the WL use coffee.pods in the rooms? Does anyone bring their own and if so where do u get them? I find their coffee not so good but drink it anyway!

Here is a picture of the coffee maker from the first page of this thread - thanks, Kook:

It makes one cup at a time and the coffee comes in round, tea bag shaped packets, like a round tea bag. They now use Joffrey's coffee, which isn't too bad as long as you use filtered water. :)

They switched brands last year. They now use Joffery's instead of the Nescafe stuff that they had in 2012.

Much better.

Not all King bed rooms are handicapped accessible, but a significant portion (about half) are, so requesting a King bed increases your chances of getting one. If you don't want a handicapped accessible room, be sure to note that in your requests as well, and depending on availability it might not be possible to get both requests met.

There are generally extra handicapped rooms in inventory, and they are made available to guests who are willing to have a room without a bath tub. This way the rooms are there if handicapped guests need them, but there are enough of them that non-handicapped guests may be placed in them as well.

Love Wilderness Lodge, can you help me decide, I can stay 5 nights at the CR in lake view, or 5 nights Club Level standard room at WL for the same price. arrive 11/21-11/26. What will the construction be like then. Is it just the pool area closed or other areas as well

Great photos, Kook. I think I'm homesick for my summer resort. :rotfl:

Hi All:

I thought I would pose this here to some of the wilderness lodge experts.

We are considering a trip Jan 3-6 2015 to the lodge and were wondering if the Christmas decorations will still be up at the lodge itself. I'm pretty sure we'll get to see a lot in the parks and probably osborne's last night will be the 4th but what bout the lodge itself? I know the resorts sometime un-decorate faster than the parks.

Anyone been there just after new years and was the tree still up?

thanks a lot!

Great pictures, KOOK! So wish there would have been club level availability for our stay. Looks amazing! :lovestruc
