We are booked in a courtyard view on a bounce back, and when I called to see if we could switch to a woods view room, they told me that all that was available was a woods view with a bunk bed. I guess they have a lot of those available. ;)

Wow! I guess so! I don't know what we are going to do with them!:dance3:

That room is actually more $$$ than the courtyard view with regular beds

Does WL runs out of discounts quickly like POR? Trying to determine what are the odds to get a discount applied if offered during my dates.

The discounts for any resort are usually limited to only a certain number of rooms. So it seems as if the allotment of rooms for the bounce back discount, that has been available since December, is running low. But I would think that the future discounts, the ones that haven't been released yet, would have plenty of availability. The WL just seems to be a little more popular lately.

We had no trouble getting a discounted room for our last minute trip to the WL in January. I would think that you would be able to get a discounted room without a problem. :)

No, not as quickly as POR. We initially booked our bounceback last Nov at POR for dates this April and I was shocked to see how many rooms were gone already. We ended up switching to WL. If you are waiting for FD I think you should be ok as long as you call first thing the day it comes out.

Ms. Kook did say we were allowed one party while she was away, right??:cheer2: I've upgraded to WL CL (again) :rotfl: To help my budget a wee bit we will be 6 nights 22nd-28th...but it's all good. I also changed my beach portion from Anna Maria Island to Treasure Island and save mucho $$$$. I wanted to try Anna Maria Island but we all adore Treasure Island. It's going to be AWESOME!!!:goodvibes

It's official!

Is there a toaster in Roaring Forks? (I eat WF bread products so plan to bring my own and would like to toast them).

What are people referring to with Dormer Balcony?

Yes there is toaster at Roaring Forks, in the dining hall area.

You're making me excited for our trip!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We arrive at WL earlier Easter Sunday morning after check out of one night stay at POFQ. Very excited for our first stay here. :cool1:

What are people referring to with Dormer Balcony?
It is a term for the balconies with enclosed railings that are on the top floor of each section of the resort.

All of the 7th floor rooms and those on the East end of the wings on the 6th floor have them. Some prefer the more private feel, but others don't like that you don't have a good view while seated.

In this picture from the first page of this thread, you can see the rooms with the dormer balconies in the North Wing. They are the rooms on the top floor that look like they are popping out of the roof.

Here is a picture of our dormer balcony from room 6018. The walls are solid and you have to stand to see out.

And here is a view from room 5055 of the open balcony. You can see the dormer balconies in the wing across the courtyard.

Back from vacation and although we had a wonderful spring break, it's nice to be back "home" here and anticipating our June stay. DD got her Learner's Permit as soon as we got home so hopefully she'll be helping drive our next trip to WDW:car::drive:

Thanks again to all who answer questions so thoroughly and promptly:grouphug:

I am very behind, but will get over there soon.

Enjoy!!!!!:yay::sunny::flower1:
We did enjoy spring break, even though it snowed on Day 3:cold:

:goodvibes

We really enjoyed our March 23-27 first-time stay at WL. The resort is in great shape, the CMs were so welcoming and we liked the atmosphere overall. We also gained greater appreciation for the Contemporary (such a quick boat ride away), including The Wave for dinner (previously had been for breakfast and lunch).

We will be returning to the WL with a group of 10 in October (26- Nov. 1).
WL is really centrally located to so much. I'll log your October dates.

That is party worthy and I will amend the log to reflect your awesome change to the OFC!

It's almost time for the Lodge:hyper:. You're going to love it!

If you were to request one of the dormer balcony rooms, how would you request it?

If you are staying club level, then I think all the rooms have dormer balconies except some of the deluxe rooms.

That's correct that all the 7th floor CL rooms have solid balcony railings/dormer balconies and some of the 6th floor, as you stayed in. The Deluxe rooms are only on floors 1-6 and 6/25 have dormer balconies.
