AHHHHH looking at those pool pictures, I wish it was August!!!
My DH caught me and the kids looking at OFC pictures last night (he wasn't told we were CL), and he just smiled and said Mommy loves the cobbler :thumbsup2

Lol. Too funny. I definitely want to try some of that cobbler! :-)

One of the things we love to do is have a dessert later in the evening. Of the places at the WL- who has the best and are there any issues with just ordering dessert?

The Territory Lounge serves a delicious cobbler with homemade black raspberry ice cream. It is really good.

I have used David's DVC point rental twice with great success, but the last 3 or 4 times that I have tried to rent from them, they do not have enough points for my reservation. I've followed their advice and tried booking at the eleven month and again at the seven month window, and they never have points available. They seem to be able to accommodate shorter stays that only require minimal points. One week, not so much. If they have the points available, it is a reputable company, and I would not hesitate to book with them. I will continue checking with them when planning a WDW trip, but it is kind of frustrating when they take a $98 deposit, and then never have points! The deposit has always been refunded, immediately, when they are unable to book.

I've used dvc rental store .com, too, with similar results (not enough points available). They do not require a deposit to check on availability.

I am sorry to hear this for you...yet grateful for us at the same time. Our upcoming trip is 10 days in a 2 bedroom which we booked at the 11 month window and got within 1 day!

I forgot this is the kid's first OFC stay, but not their first WL stay? Mom will have to show them how to properly serve up all that cobbler goodness;)

Of the three options, other than CL, I agree that Territory Lounge is the best choice. The cobbler is AP cobbler and you don't need a reservation. Roaring Fork does have wonderful desserts, too such as cupcakes, but the ambience isn't as relaxing as TL. You would need a reservation to eat at AP and later in the evening, you'd need a reservation at WCC, too if you weren't ordering to-go.

Can you change my dates to June 8-16? Thank you!
:)

Is this the same cobbler served at Artist Point? If so, I might be stopping by Territory Lounge a time or two! Yummy
It is the same. We just love TL and it became our new favorite must-do on last years' trips. I have a review in my last TR and the link is in Post 1. You can order many AP items there without having an ADR and they accept TiW. Kids are welcome and it's a cozy place to relax. If a seat isn't immediately available, one usually opens up soon - you seat yourself there.

The Smokey Portobello Mushroom soup is delicious, too:

SO yummy, served warm...I am not sure which one is my favorite...apple or blueberry:)

That sounds amazing!

They have never stayed at WL, we visited to see the tree on the girls trip last year. We have stayed in the cabins, we had the best trip that year. It was Oct/Nov 2009 little DS was in a pack and play

Thanks for all of the suggestions- can't wait. We arrive tomorrow for three nights.
AWESOME!! Enjoy!:cool1:

That is fantastic, and gives me hope of renting points for a future trip! It must just be my timing, as my dates are usually fixed, but my resort choices are pretty flexible. I'm still going to WDW, so nothing to feel sorry about! :woohoo:

We leave tomorrow for our first stay at WL CL for one night and then we move to AKL CL for the remaining days of our trip!!

so excited :)

Does WL have its own movie on the beach?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Yep. There is a pretty nice area just East of the South wing for movies on the beach. The schedule for them usually comes out early in the month, and Kook posts the link to the schedule here.

Ok, advice needed! We were planning on the first week in November because the crowds are so low and we thought Christmas decorations would be up. I just spoke with someone and they may be going up at the parks by that time, but probably not at the WL.

We could possibly change to the first week in December for the exact same price! I think that sounds even better because I really want to see WL at Christmastime. Are the crowds that much worse during this week? Also, it looks like statistically free dining has been offered during this time so that's a bonus!

The Mousesavers list of historical discounts is really misleading, since it doesn't list blackout dates. We stayed at the WL from Nov 30th to Dec 5th, 2013 - last year. There was a room only discount during those dates, but not free dining. There was free dining offered to the general public in December, but I think the dates were something like Dec 13th to 23rd? maybe? Some people got a pin code for free dining, but that doesn't count. This year that same week is not included in the Bounce back offer, which it was last year. I doubt that they will offer free dining the first week of December, since it wasn't offered during that time last year, but I could be wrong. But there will probably be a room discount.

That week was busy, but I don't think it was too bad, crowd wise. The Candlelight Processional had begun by that weekend and MVMCP was going on, too. Everything is decorated and Epcot has storytellers in the countries. They are worth seeing. :goodvibes

Thank you for your response! I hadn't looked into blackout dates, so this was very helpful. Looks like we will now be coming in the week before Thanksgiving! Cannot WAIT to see WL at the holidays. It truly looks magical
