I'm currently booked CL and requesting bunk beds. What other request could I make for a good view? Perhaps of Bay Lake or the castle?

I HAD to check out the Orbitz rate...yep it worked!! So I added a night on!! With the families' OKAY

So after 5 glorious YC CL nights..we will be moving over to the Lodge!!!:dance3: Happy Birthday to me!! The only thing to perfect this is a Lodge Queen to share a table at OFC
Since my magical erasing quill is already out, I'd be happy to add you! I'm glad the family is excited and they love WL-CL so all is good:goodvibes

Are we able to use the quiet pool at VWL as well as the main pool if we're staying at WL?

Yes.

If bunks are very important to you, then I wouldn't add another request on to that one since there aren't many bunks. CL views can be of VWL in the South Wing, woods/castle/CR in the North Wing or the WL (Inner) Courtyard/Bay Lake in both wings.

Just wondering if anyone knows/can measure how wide the vanity area is in the VWL studios... TIA :goodvibes

How old do the kids have to be to use the cub's den (or whatever it is called)? :-)

Paul (Grand Californian): Love your thorough answers:worship:. (And yours too, Sue, but you're on vacation now. How is our Lodge?).

We passed the Lodge on the way to Fort Wilderness tonight. We had a most delicious dinner at Trail's End. Our waitress was Serena and she was a sweetie. I asked her if she knew anyone from the Disney forum and she didn't, but she did mention that there were a few couples who always asked for her. She said to say hi if that sounds like you. :)

By the way, it is a lot easier to get to FW from WL then from the BC. Can you believe that we got to the bus stop at the BC at 5:30pm and didn't get to Trail's End until 7:10pm? :sad2: We had long waits for both the bus and boat. At least the food and service was good. :)

The monorail is down from 11am until 7pm, and it is messing everything up at MK. People are trying to use alternate transportation to get the the MK, and everything is crazy.

The kids need to be toilet trained and the top age limit is 12.

The first page has Cub's Den information/photos HERE. As Sue posted, the child must be potty trained. Also, they must be at least 3-years-old.

I plumb forgot that you weren't staying at WL - which explains why you aren't in the Log...doh.

Was it hard going over to FW and seeing WL, but not staying? I thought the monorail was supposed to be back up during the day by now? Well, it's a good thing this won't impact you much.

The Epcot Resorts do get some negative comments when it comes to the buses which share with each other and Swolphin, too. When we stay, we do a shorter split there and only do DHS and Epcot so as to avoid the buses. Are you seeing a lot of spring break crowds now? I hope you and DH are having a great vacation and thanks for checking in with us:)

I thought the monorail was supposed to be back to normal by now, too. We haven't spent a lot of time in the parks yet, but the crowds haven't been too bad at Epcot and HS. We are going to MK this morning, which will be the first real test of how the crowds are.

Usually the bus at the BC only shares with the YC and it is fine. The ride back to the BC from MK only took fourteen minutes, about the same time that the WL bus takes to go from HS to the lodge.

But we are scheduled to return to the WL in October. :)

How easy is it to get to Mickey's BBQ or the Chip & Dale sing-a-long from WL? I'd assume take the boat to FW, but then what? Is it within walking distance or do we have to take an internal bus?

Are there rooms off the lobby level and if so is the noise bad? I requested a low floor woods view but dont know where in the resort I should be. I don't like elevators and would like to be closer to the lobby. Long windy hallways would confuse me LOL. Any suggestions?

I've been waiting to get the kids to OFC since DH and I stayed there. THIS WILL STICK :cloud9:

Ugh, so sorry to hear that. Glad to hear the food is yummy at Trail's End, we always mean to try it and never get there. Enjoy your MK day!!

You can walk, boat or bus. Honestly the bus is FAST!!! But the boat is so nice :) If your tugging a stroller, it might be nice to just walk it IMO. I always struggled with stroller folding, this is our first trip without one this summer:yay:

To get to FW the easiest option is to take a boat, but there are also buses that make the trip too, or it is about a 15-20 minute walk from WL, but the path is not lit. Either way you end up at the North end of FW (Called Settlement), which is where the marina, Hoop De Doo, Mickey's BBQ, and Trail's End all are. The campfire and Chip and Dale's sing along are in the middle of Fort Wilderness, so you'll likely take an internal FW bus from the Settlement area. You could walk it, but it is about half a mile.

There are rooms in the South Wing off of the lobby level, which is actually the 2nd floor of the resort. The hallway connects right across from the Mercantile, and despite the large amount of traffic in the open area there (on the path that leads to the Villas and Buses) the hallway goes around a small corner and is usually relatively quiet. Even numbered rooms from 2100 to 2120 are in this area and considered Woods view. There are also ground floor rooms in the North wing that are actually on the first floor (pool level) so they are a close walk to Roaring Fork (the QS restaurant). For more room location info, check out the map on this post, just be aware that the North wing 2nd floor rooms don't connect to the lobby because WCC and Artist Point get in the way.

Just back from the Lodge and it was wonderful! Thank you for all the great advice in this thread. We originally were booked CL, but (long story) ended up with woods view. Didn't request anything, and ended up on the first floor pretty close to everything. Very quiet and oh so nice! The resort is so beautiful and we took tons of pictures. The pool wasn't too crowded except for yesterday afternoon...very busy! And of course a bounce back offer was definitely booked!! November 2nd - 7th! :yay:

Hi, we're off for our first stay at WL from 18-23rd May: can't wait!
We've booked a woods view room but I would prefer not to have the afternoon sun blazing onto the balcony. Could you please tell me which side would I need to be on to avoid this?

Just had to post that we just got to the Lodge sitting at Whispering Canyon and we love it here! This is our first stay and as I thought would happen no one wants to switch to BLT.

On a side note we are in a 1 bed on the 3rd floor facing the bus stop kind of. I guess our room has been refurbished for a whole 10 days!

We had a woods view room that faced the villas, and had the afternoon sun shining in. So if you ask for the north wing, facing the Contemporary, you will have a shady afternoon. :) We had a courtyard view room that got the afternoon sun, which was great in January but has to be hot in the summer.

Thanks! That's what I'm worried about! Late May is hot and I'll be desperate for some shade so a sun-filled balcony will not be a welcome sight when we get in from the parks!

Are either of the pools zero entry or not?

I've been looking at pics and videos online...can't wait!! :-)

Oh Queen of Bay Lake, get your eraser out...

The Pas clan will be at WL CL from 8/22-8/29 in 2 (hopefully connecting) CL rooms :hyper: Feel free to use marker :thumbsup2

No zero entry at Wl/or VWL

There's a cool kiddie pool and it's well shaded:goodvibes
