Hi, love the info on here, we are deciding where to stay on our next trip and WL is a close second to the BC. We stayed BC last year and loved the room size, we had 2 beds and a rollaway, it was a squeeze to get onto the balcony but had plenty of room at the other end! I'm looking for any recent photos of the bunk bed rooms, my 2 DD's won't share a bed, that's why we had the rollaway, and the bunks look a great idea, both happy to sleep in them but I'm worried on the room size as I've read comments about the rooms being small for a deluxe, are the bunk rooms smaller again? Would be be able to fit a rollaway in if we had a normal 2 bedded room? We visited here last year for a meal at WC and loved it, I've always wanted to stay here but we also love the walk to Epcot from the BC. We get to come to disney every couple of years, staying 2 weeks so we would like to try somewhere else. Thanks for any input.
The bunk bed rooms are the same size as the regular rooms, so it looks like you get a little bit more usable floor space.
WL is awesome, and having boat access to MK is great, but it is hard to beat walking to Epcot from BC. Maybe a split stay?

Does anyone know what kind of hair dryers are in the room? Wondering if I should bring mine from home or just use the one at WL... Thanks!

Just checked in and laying by the pool. So impressed by this resort so far! Room was gorgeous and the pool is actually more fun than pictures presented it as! Really happy with our decision!

We will be staying in a studio May 14-19th. First time to the Wilderness Lodge. Does anyone know if the rehab is completed in all the rooms? Also, how is the pull down bed working for everyone?

This is good to hear...it will be our first time there, and I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake...but I feel that way with every resort!!! :)

We recently came back from our stay at the Beach Club. We had a room with a daybed and it was definitely bigger than a room at the WL. Some of the larger size in the BC room is in the hallway and the sink area. The BC sink is a little wider, the floor area there a little bigger, and the hallway a little wider. The BC bedroom area is a little bigger. There is more open area between the outside wall and the bed, and the open area between the beds and the dresser is wider. But the WL rooms have been recently refurbished and they look great. :thumbsup2 The bunk bed room should give you a little more floor space than a room with two queen beds. The WL doesn't have rollaway beds, since the rooms are too small to fit one. I don't find the WL rooms small at all, but they are too small for a roll away bed and they are smaller than the BC rooms. :)

We like both resorts. :goodvibes

I will add everyone's dates to the Lodgers' Log this afternoon. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend:goodvibes

WDWKOOK, please put us down for WL 8/9 - 8-14 First stay at WL! Thank you.
:thumbsup2

So there is no after-hours swimming, even "swim at your own risk"? Is this true for the Hidden Springs Pool, as well? I love taking a dip at night after long days at the Parks, it helps me unwind!
Last year, a new policy was implemented for feature pools only. The pools with life guards and the hot tubs near them are now only open when there is a lifeguard on-duty. The "Quiet Pools" and hot tubs next to QPs are not impacted by this new rule. The rule was a result of the drowning of a child last year at a Value Resort after hours when there wasn't a lifeguard present. In other words, the lawyers made them do it:rolleyes2

Oh wow...shame on me for not scrolling enough. I've read the posts about being added to the Lodgers List but didn't see it was at the bottom of 1st post. That's really cool, I see that we'll overlap with 7 other DISer's while there in now 68 days!
Glad you found the Lodgers' Log in Post 2:)

For log book-

Liball3 VWL 12/18-26/14. Our 1st Disney Christmas !
:santa:

Hey WDWKook, can you update my log to be a WL first timer as well?

Thanks!
Of course I can.

Me too!! And first time CL!
:)

Welcome to the WL/VWL thread! Nice to have you with us.

I understand your dilemma. It's so nice staying at an Epcot Resort so that you can easily walk right to DHS and Epcot. We've solved this by sometimes doing a split stay. We stay a few nights at an Epcot Resort (we prefer BWI and YC), then we head on over for breakfast at the OFC or WCC and stay around 8 nights at WL. Would you be able to do a split stay?

WL does not provide rollaways due to room size constraints, but some guests do bring their own inflatables. I think the bunks would work perfectly for your family. I'll have to look for the bunk bedroom photo and I'll post it later.

Does anyone know what kind of hair dryers are in the room? Wondering if I should bring mine from home or just use the one at WL... Thanks!
They work really well, so no need to bring one.

Can you add me?

08/16/14 to 08/23/14!!! YEAH!!! :)
I'd be happy to add you.

So glad you're having a great vacation. Thanks for the update and have a magical day!

I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log. No one has reported here that it's been completed, but it should be done:listen:

This is good to hear...it will be our first time there, and I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake...but I feel that way with every resort!!! :)
You're not making a mistake, and I can appreciate you feeling like you might be choosing the wrong resort. We've pretty much tried all the Deluxes and Mods and we always keep coming back to WL. Every resort has its pluses and minuses, but for us, WL has the most pluses and I think you and your family love it. One of the great things about WDW is that there's a perfect resort for everyone:)

Welcome back, Sue and I just noticed you already posted about the rollaways:blush:

Hello from the World! Here now, but not staying at WL. But, we did stop by the Lodge last night for dinner at Artist Point. It was EXCELLENT. Two great dinners in a row there, including our visit this past October as well. Great views of the pool, Bay Lake, etc., and we really enjoyed our meal. I had the mussels and the trio (bison filet, venison filet, and boar sausage), and my wife had the mushroom soup and scallops with risotto. We shared a vanilla creme brûlée, which was on the house for my wife's birthday. It was probably our second best meal of the trip behind Yachtsman's. Would definitely recommend anyone who is staying at WL to give it a try. :thumbsup2

Is there a good spot there at WL to catch the fireworks and EWP? Do they pipe in the music for Wishes?

From post #15 of this thread.

THE ELECTRICAL WATER PAGEANT runs every evening at 9:35 p.m. (weather permitting). Disney's Electrical Water Pageant stops in front of WL as it makes its way across Bay Lake. The 14 illuminated floats, accompanied by music, was created for the dedication of Disney's Polynesian Resort in October 1971. It can be viewed from courtyard rooms, the Club Level lounge, the dock for the Red Flag and Blue Flag boat launches and from the beach/marina area.

WISHES can be viewed from the following public locations at WL: The beach, the dock for the Red Flag and Blue Flag boat launches, the employee parking lot and special occasion Wishes Rooftop Viewing - please see the front desk or concierge for information and availability during your stay.

Although, as GrandCalifornian mentioned you can only see the higher fireworks of Wishes from the boat dock/beach.

This has come up a couple of times. For the EWP, you can get a great view of it from the boat dock, the beach, or even the walkway by the geyser. (We watched it from just outside the hot tubs one night too.)

For Wishes fireworks, the beach / dock area faces the wrong way, so you can really only see the highest fireworks from there. You can see them from corners of the North wing hallways which have big windows, and we've also seen the higher ones from out in front of WL, near the parking lot, but they don't bring in the music anywhere. Probably the best view is if you time it right to be on a boat during them, where you get some nice views from out on Bay Lake.

Is the Territory Lounge part of Artist Point or a separate location? We loved our WL stay over Thanksgiving (and are returning in July) but we don't remember seeing it anywhere, despite covering most of the property...or so we thought! Thanks!

It is effectively part of Artist Point, and is right between Artist Point and WCC, right at the top of the ramp. We missed it on our first trip too, and still haven't gotten anything there. Sounds like we have been missing out.
