Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding Sturdy Branches Health Club. I was told by a CM that I can book spa reservations 180 days in advance. We would like to get massages after the marathon on Sunday, January 11. Has anyone ever done a massage at the spa at WL? I know it would be a quick hop on the monorail to get to the Spa at GF but not sure we want to pay more for the spa there. Any insight on the health club/massages would be great. Thank you.

I would definitely pick the CR pool over the FW pool! Much easier to get to, and there are towels available (no towel service at the FW pool).

Thanks for the responses! Looks like CR is the better option :). Hopefully the weather will be nice. The past two years we've been lucky that its been warm enough to swim.

I love Sturdy Branches! (Both the gym and massages). I have always had wonderful massages there. My favorite was the deep tissue/targeted that I had over Christmas. It was heavenly and I highly recommend it. They offer DVC and AP discounts, too and are less expensive than the "spas."

Oh what to do now? The pool personally is not a biggie but the overall look of construction is getting close to deal breaker ... Yikes!

We have room only so I have 2 reservations and will cancel one on 11/9 (we arrive 11/15), depending upon reports of progress. But I hate the uncertainty so based on Tikiman's observation that they never finish these things on time, looks like it's WL that will get cancelled. And maybe way before 11/9.

We are arriving dec 13th, should we switch? It's our honeymoon, would hate noisy construction and pool closures then

We will be there from 9/18-9/27. Will the "quiet"/Villa's pool be open? I know it's smaller but we are just looking for maybe 20 minutes of swim at night for our 4 year old. Even a 5 minute boat ride to CR, seems a bit much for such a short time.

I just called to get info on other resorts during that time and the CM was SO kind to offer me the $15,000 suite at GF! :confused3

Yeah I have GF saved on my cart right now for Nov 9 for 10 days. It's over $2000 more so thinking about it for a few minutes before I hit the go button. I've stayed there many times and was looking forward to staying CL at WL as something new to enjoy the walk to FW and overall beauty of the lodge ... I knew it may be near the end of the construction but the whole trip not a fan ; (

Well I need to change my dates.

I decided on not doing the solo trip, mainly because flights were too expensive, and John will just have started getting his paychecks

So, we are going to wait until he is home on leave and go in October.

We are doing a split stay.
BC 10/14 - 10/17
WL 10/17 - 10/23

We did a room only rate, because I have an AP and John will also have one by then.
I just have to keep checking to AP deals, to see if a Passholder rate comes out.
Those Rack Rate deposits are scary!

Hey guys,

Just got off the phone with back office. I was told they they are putting in a fence, sidewalk around the pool and kids splash area. The cm said it would take probably 30 days but possibly longer but he thought it should be done by November.

It isn't an inside tip but it was from the resort.

Hope it helps.

Yes, the villas pool will be open. :)

I really hope that the CM is right. It would make a huge difference if that was all it was. The kids area is off to the side, so that wouldn't be too disruptive.

:)

I guess it never hurts to ask if you wanted it! ;)
Emailed my TA for options this morning. Hope she comes up with a few more options.

Awesome  I know you are missing DH terribly! This is fantastic news and I am SO happy for you!!!

After a phone call & email, I believe it's official we're staying week starting Oct 12th
:cool1:

Ok so I don't think we will switch resorts because everyone says how beautiful WL is at Christmas!! But, what about club level? What are best things about CL?? It really won't add too much on the price we are at now to be honest.
Best thing about CL...other than the CMs _COBBLER!!!

Thank you for this post. Disney is giving us over 60 days prior information about the pool rehab.

Disney is not obligated to give you anymore. We are very lucky to have places like the DIS to find out information way before the "official" info is published.

I'm not saying that I don't feel for everyone who is stuck because there is no other availability with their discounts. I really feel terrible. But Disney and the WL did nothing wrong.

Remember - I posted the information about the pool rehab dates (Start after Labor Day and hoped to finish by Thanksgiving) back on June 6th as soon as I found out. This was from my friend in the back office.
I am happy to have the info, surprisingly I actually ch-ch-changed to OKW pre-pool notice. :confused3 If I had the option to go to CR pool I may not have changed (we have friends staying there when we are visiting) AHHH, I can't talk DH out of a villa...BUT perhaps the VWL may open up for all 6 nights....;)

It appears I have an update to the pool rehab status in POST 2:). And, at the speed this thread is going, I may have to re-post the thread this week before vacation:badpc:

Multiple sources reported here yesterday and on social media that the WL pool rehab is slated to be completed around Thanksgiving and pools at CR and FW will be available to WL guests. The completion/re-opening date and use of other Bay Lake pools is new information since Heather/hstrickland returned last weekend and since my last update on 11 June from the IPO. Thank you to those who posted updates yesterday.
Have a great trip my friend

On another thread, a person said they called the WL and were told that passes to a water park would be given out. So hoping that is the case. Otherwise, it's the CR pool for us. Was really looking forward to finally swimming in the pool at WL. It's our first stay there.

It just stinks when you've been saving up for so long and then this thrown at you. This is going to be our first trip at a Deluxe. We made all of our dining plans/park plans months ago for our trip in September. Just checked around for other resorts and doesn't look like we have much options at a similar cost unless we downgrade :( Our plans included pool times and my boys won't be too happy. Sure they're letting us use other resorts, but when we were planning to take a mid-day break it was a nice idea to go back to our room, change, pool, back to room to change before dinner. Now you have to factor in time traveling to yet another resort.
