We had it stop there once, but not for long. Last trip, I saw it get stopped while standing on the rotating platform as someone sitting in the ride had her hand shut inside the door of the car.

That sounds a bit painful. Just a bit.

I don't want to get into a FP+ debate (in general it works well for us), but this is one of the rides that has gotten much longer lines since FP+ came around.

Not as bad as Haunted Mansion though!

Kook-you are too funny. I do think the drive would be interesting too. I know last fall driving to North Carolina from Orlando with Anita and her friend was fun. We would have about 400 more miles than what you drive with two teenagers DD and her friend. Can't decide!! :scratchin

We've had to change our plans for Spaceship Earth since staying on the Boardwalk. I like Illuminations, but Wishes is still my favorite. No spoiler alerts, but Illuminations is best seen in the front row around the lake. So, after a while, we stopped camping out for Illuminations in the front, and just continued to ride rides. Then, right before Illuminations, we rode SpaceShip Earth, played those games in the Siemens area, got our free Disney Visa picture up front, and then stood nearer the entrance and watched Wishes off the crowd". After it was over, we would exit.

Ever since staying at BWV, we can't do that since we have to go thru the IG. I'm not complaining, because I do still enjoy the planning.

Somehow lost Tara's past about napping, but that actually did happen to us. I assume while they were loading somebody from a wheelchair.

I still find that a late in the day visit is the best time to go.

I'd like to get stopped next to the Roman scene to see I can understand anything being said.

I think the last time we went we tried at 2 or 3pm, when it used to be walk on, and it was a 20 minute wait. No terrible, but still.

I never realized you could see Wishes from Epcot at all, but makes sense. You can see the top of it from the BW, too!

I received an email from Disney's Yacht and Beach Resort Itinerary Planning Office. It's a multi-page form telling them my flight details, dining, show, tour requests etc. Seems like the same thing I could do myself. Is there any advantage to having them handle it?

I think that it depends on how you like to control details, and how busy the time of year you are traveling is. When we stay CL, we let the IPO take care of all of our ADR's, and tours. Yes, I could do it myself, and often do, but I know that if my requests may be difficult to fulfill, the IPO has a better chance of achieving them.

At BWV now, and it looks like they are starting to do some work on the Leaping Horse Libations. I am seeing it from the balcony, so not sure exactly what's up, but the construction walls are going up. Might just be cosmetics around the back because that is where I am seeing the walls and scaffolding.

Uh oh. We are there in just over a week, and were really looking forward to being able to grab some food by the pool. Plus, it's so cool-looking. Does anyone else know anything about this? Is it still closed off?

We just checked out yesterday. It's only cosmetic and isn't affecting operations. It's all on the back side.

That's a relief! It's a small thing, I suppose, but we always seem to be at the pool around dinner time and needing something to eat. We have only stayed at WL, which we love, but wished the pool bar there offered food.

Thanks for the report.

Big milestone, got the luggage tags in the mail today!! Can't wait, our first ever stay at the Boardwalk is just a month and a day away!

I'm a planner so I've found its easier just to do it all yourself. If you want some of the more difficult things to get (such as Be Our Guest) you may want to have them try as well.

wow it sure seems to be taking them a long time to refurb leaping libations! they had workers painting the outside of it when we were there back in April!

What they did while we were there was replace some of the concrete sidewalk back behind the pool bar. They also looked like they were doing something to the roof in the back.

Hi everyone! We checked in yesterday, staying for two nights. We have the most amazing Boardwalk view corner room (3259) where we can see right along the lake, including Seabreeze Point. This is special to us as we got married there and yesterday we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary :D

Sounds great! Enjoy and congrats!

So because our little guy (this one: :cat:) was really sick and needs injections every day and oral medicine twice a day, we ended up canceling our Disney Cruise for next month. We wouldn't enjoy it worrying if he was okay, especially with no real way to get back early if we had to. It's okay, we vacation a lot (3-4 per year), so we'll make it up next year.

But, that officially makes our December trip to the Boardwalk our next vacation! Hopefully he'll be all better by then. But after missing this one, we'll definitely be looking forward to that vacation!!

We are going in September 2015 and also staying part of our stay on the Boardwalk to celebrate our 5th anniversary at SBP :) Congrats and happy anniversary

8 more sleeps!! :cool1:

So excited for our first stay at BWI... I hope it cools off a bit.
Only one more sleep now:yay:

Anything Disney-related is open to discussion here. While I really didn't notice the longer lines last December, I did notice them this June/July. I attribute that to the large increase in those utilizing FP+. We rode 7DMT 4 times with FP+ with no wait, but I would never-ever ride it w/o a FP. The lines are notoriously long and not worth that kind of wait, IMHO.

We were still able to walk right on SE in the last afternoon, but that's always pretty much been the case. I think you're right that the morning stand-by wait is much longer now. What month did you have a 20 mins. wait in the afternoon? I think the posted wait was about 10 mins. in June/July. To me, that always means basically no wait at all and just walk-on time.

I never realized you could see Wishes from Epcot at all, but makes sense. You can see the top of it from the BW, too!

Great photographic proof:thumbsup2

Even less now! Yippee!

Thanks for the update. I wonder if the pool fence will be going in soon like at WL. A roof repair permit was filed 8/14 and I found this permit that was filed about a couple of weeks ago for some pool area work.

Happy 5th anniversary! I hope you're having a wonderful celebration.

I understand. It's really hard when your pet is ill and requires medicine everyday. Have you thought about boarding him at your vet's? That way he'd have around the clock medical attention. But, I understand it can be a difficult decision to board an ailing cat or even a healthy cat for that matter. December will be here before you know it and I hope your cat improves by then. How old is he?
