TaraPA-DD and her friend are both 16 and by early evening some of the days they just wanted to crash in the room or in the lounge. They were worn out from the heat too. It was hotter than last year. I still walked around in long sleeved shirts though because inside buildings it was ridiculous how cold it was!! We are heading down middle of June next year after state golf.:) Hopefully it won't be as bad

I think we're done coming in summer, the heat & humidity just wear us out. Even the teens were ready to head back to the room by 10pm, and we never started our day before 9!

I recently learned thst my 16th great grandfather Peter Shoffer created Shofferhofer beer, which they have in Germany. Had many of those this trip!!!

My FIL wants to take his whole family - 2 children, spouses, and 6 grandchildren - to WDW next year. In addition to the whole family & large group issue, the only time of year that we could go would be in July. My family has been one year the first week in June, and while it was warmer than October, it wasn't nearly as hot as July. I'm worried.

That is a very good beer and cool when you find a connection like that.

The GF rooms just were rehabbed and I believe that the BC rooms should be all rehabbed by next summer. Even if you have to tweak it, it's always nice to be planning another trip.

There's nothing worse than being ill on vacation. Do you think it was food poisoning? I hope you're fully recovered by now. Thank you for your review and happy future trip planning!

I think that any non-BWV room would be the quietest on the Inn side. The rooms that overlook the quiet pool area can also have a partial Illuminations/Epcot view. I don't know about the noise near the port cochere/bus stop/entrance area. Maybe someone who has stayed in that area will comment.

You can always ask about an upgrade, but keep in mind that your room has already been assigned prior to arrival and if an upgrade is available, expect that you will be charged the difference in price. It might be best to ask the CM if it is possible and how much more it would cost.

Glad you felt well enough to try the LR and you have your dates.

Was the road work on 95? Sounds like it was a grueling drive and you're so happy to be out of the car on solid ground. I love your attitude!

Were you on 95, too? We find Christmas to be one of the worst times of the year to travel on 95. And, if there's a lane closure or accident any time of the year, it can back up for miles and make it seem like you'll never get there. Don't they know we need to get to WDW…and FAST?!

You shouldn't have any problems at all with the MBs AS LONG AS everything is linked in your MDX account and as long as the CM at check-in has activated
each MB's number to work all the common area doors/room door.

We were on 95 but the construction was on 26. The back up was because of a wreck in the construction zone.

I have another Epcot connection - well to me anyway lol - the scene in SE where they talk about Gutemburg inventing the printing press - his partner was my 17th great grandfather Johannes Fust, who has also been called the inventor of printing. There are 3 men in that scene, the forward one is Gutemburg with his Bibles, so I like to assume that one of the 2 men at the printing press is Fust!

Hmmmm large family plus July heat...good luck with that!

At BWV now, and it looks like they are starting to do some work on the Leaping Horse Libations. I am seeing it from the balcony, so not sure exactly what's up, but the construction walls are going up. Might just be cosmetics around the back because that is where I am seeing the walls and scaffolding.

Getting loud around here now. Was fine at night, but might be making it tough on the daily nap takers.

That is a cool as well. Now, let's devise a plan for one of us to shut down Spaceship Earth while the other one jumps out of the car and plants a Schofferhofer beer in Fust's hand. Shhhh.....don't tell anyone. :lmao:

OMG YOU READ MY MIND!!!! What a photo op. I'd be the star of the next Shaffer family reunion!

We always go in July, every other year. Yes, this year it was hotter, but on other trips I've been there when it was not nearly as hot as this year.

The trick is to go to the parks early. We go when the parks open. Then we take an afternoon break. We leave the park no later than 2pm, and we have a nice sit-down table service lunch around noon which is also a very good break in the air conditioning. The parks are less crowded in the morning also. We only go back in the evening if we are having dinner in the park and/or seeing the nighttime entertainment. The heat calms down and it feels a lot better by the time we go back. We either swim or take a nap in the afternoons, staying nice and cool. When we nap and then return to the park, the boys say it feels like 2 days in one! Sometimes we just go to a resort restaurant for dinner and relax more. We also take advantage of the numerous frozen snack options at WDW, like slushies, ice cream and Dole Whips. Feels so great to have one of those in the summer!

So yes, July is hot but it can be done and everyone should have a great time! :)

I love it when a plan comes together. :lmao:

Sounds like an awesome plan. I'll pass it along. I know BIL and his family prefer the QS to TS, but maybe with the heat, I'll have some success in convincing them.

Our first stay at BWI and it is great. We usually go to Poly but decided to try an EPCOT resort for this visit.

Our room is on the fourth floor with a great view from our balcony - a water view and we can see the fireworks from DHS:cheer2:.

Your on the Inns side or the Villa side?

I know when we had the 2nd room to the left once you enter club level and you really couldn't see the fireworks. I know on the Villa side where we are staying though this time we will have great views of the fireworks.

Can't wait have a great trip!

My waitlist just came through for the Boardwalk (Boardwalk view) Dec. 12/13
Thanks to whom ever canceled .... I had to cancel my Beach club night for Sept. 13 so maybe what goes around comes around :)

Sooooo excited !!!!!!

I already have Disney depression or as I told Anita from Innkeepers Club, "Anita depression"-this being delayed to get home did not help. DH thinks we should drive next year or at least not fly Delta anymore:scratchin
"Anita another trip soon" says sfbank:rolleyes:

We LOVE driving:drive: and I highly recommend it. We take two days down and make our second day really short so we get in late morning, (we're about 865 miles away). We love being in control of the trip, stopping when we want and no airport/airline funny business. The drive ends up a fun part of the trip.

Woohoo, 2 weeks until we're back at the BWI.
Even less now!

Checking out tofay from another great BWI stay. At POR now cane pole fishing. We are in Deluxe CL room 3257 & its a little larget than the one we had last year right next to it 3259. Has a very long & large hallway/entry.

Parks were fairly full. Magic bands worked great, MDE app not so much. Wifi both here & AKL spotty which was frustrating. Encountered lots of rides down but hey there's always next time!

We did Sammy Duval watersports which the boys loved but pricey. Only got half the time in as a storm approached. Boys did Universal which they loved, I loved my day alone in Disney! We also played mini golf at Winter Summerland. Here's a tip I didn't know - Winter Summerland is opem til 11pm but busses stop running 1 hr after Blizzard Beach closes. After that there is only 1 bus to CSR. Thats your only option for transportation other than a cab. We made the mistake of hopping on the DHS bus at 9:50 pm when DHS closed at 10. Took well over an hour from ending at WS to getting back to the room via boat at DHS. Other than that WS was a nice course. AP gets half price which is nice too!

Thanks for your mini TR and we're honored to have a beer magnate on the thread - next round's on Tara!:worship:...Cheers!:drinking1

Not good - sorry. I hope it's quieter by now.

A plan? I think we end up stopped in front of the snoring monk/Pacer/burning library every single ride. I actually get disappointed when we don't. I think we can just plan not to plan to stop it and we'll just make our way over to the Gutenberg Bible area from wherever it stops. Everyone's asleep, so no one will be the wiser. Love that ride, BTW.

That is a great ride. The smells of the wood burning. The computer that fills up the room. The lights/mirror effects at the end. Designing your own future. It is a must do ride every trip.

Its one of my favorite rides as well. My dream is to be stuck at the end when you turn backwards & go down...where all the mesmerizing twinkling blue lights are. That would be the most perfect napping spot!!

We had it stop there once, but not for long. Last trip, I saw it get stopped while standing on the rotating platform as someone sitting in the ride had her hand shut inside the door of the car.
