I thought I would have some to share in less than a month, but I changed our reservation from BWI to YC-CL:flower3:. I had been checking for weeks and a room opened up so I grabbed it. If someone doesn't post any rehabbed room photos before I get there, I will ask to see a new room when I go over to take photos. If I can see one, I should have some room photos posted here around 6/23 or 6/24.

Fantastic thank you :thumbsup2

Have a great time at the YC, I finally made it to the WL CL and I'm in love, I now have a joint favourite with the BWI CL :goodvibes

First time staying at BWV studio. Have two small children and the ideal room for us would be on the main or first floor, near the pool but more importantly close to the buses, main lobby, and elevator. Oh and a view other than the parking lot of course. A lot to ask for. If such a room existed, what should I ask for?

It depends on what type of studio you have. A standard view studio will face the bus stop (parking lot, but honestly you don't see it!) and you can request both ground floor (or second floor where the lobby is) and close to the elevators. A preferred view may be the area behind the lobby that you walk through (or skirt around) to get to the Boardwalk, or it may look out onto one of the pools. Again, you can request whatever floor you want and close to elevators. From what you've said, I'd think that a Boardwalk view would be your least desired view as it means you're on the opposite side of the building to the buses, though of course you can always ask for 2nd floor and close to elevators (no ground floor for Boardwalk as those are the stores and restaurants, etc.)

So, basically, you need to know what 'category' your studio is in - Boardwalk, Preferred or Standard view. The floor and close to elevators requests can be made regardless of category.

Preparing for my first trip to BWV...very excited will be arriving Friday morning for a quick weekend trip with my son for SWW. Was curious how long does it take for DME to get to the resort?

We just checked out of BW today and moved to Disneys Vero Beach. Our BW studio was on the ground level room 1081. It was a standard close to the pool and guest laundry room. Not too far from buses and lobby at all. The view was green grass - ds played frisbee in the open space. The HS path was straight ahead view and to the right over a hill was the main check in area. Really couldn't see anything over the grassy hill though.

Is anyone else terrified to see the newly refurbished rooms at BWI?
Having seen the (in my opinion) mediocre, unimaginitive refurbs at the POLY, CR and GF recently, I'm scared that BWI will follow generic suit. I thought the rooms at BWI were perfect. I really thought that they were the most elegant rooms available at WDW...yes, more than at the GF.
I'm really hoping Disney got a better designer for BWI, BC and YC!

Terrified? :scared1: eh, not really. Curious? :thumbsup2 Heck yeah....

I'm not sure you stated your question as you intended. :confused3 In any event, you can request a blender if you are staying in a studio. Anyone at DVC can request a blender, but they are in the "based on availability" list.

You're right Sandi, I didn't. Can I blame auto correct? But thanks. That was the answer I was hoping for.

One more week until we're back home :-)

I must admit I'm a bit apprehensive, when I first saw the photos of the new GF rooms I really liked them, now I've seen them properly (I visited a room when I was staying at RPC earlier this month) I'm not so keen. Just my opinion of course but I felt they looked a bit bland.

I love the BWI rooms, I liked the older blue/white decor even better than the current decor. It's going to be interesting, I just hope they retain some character.

I guess I look at this whole refurbished rooms differently. I am so happy to be back at the Walt Disney World in one of the best resorts that I don't even notice things. There must be too much pixie dust in my eyes. pixiedust:

What, you don't like the H's and cheese wheels at the CR?

I actually think the new Poly rooms are FANTASTIC. If you haven't stayed in one, you should... After the construction is all done!! I wouldn't go near that place right now.

Not necessarily terrified, but I understand what you mean. I love the decor of the BWI rooms, and yes, in some regard they are prettier than GF (we just returned from there). My sister and I had an incredible room at BWI a couple of years ago, just adored it and the view was great.

I think the designer/decorators need to return to the 'highly-themed' era, but that's just my opinion.

I'm sure the room will be pretty...fingers crossed....:thumbsup2 ::yes:: Let's hope so.

I think part of the reason the new rooms property wide seem so similar is that everyone is going to the duvet cover format so they can get away from the dirty bedspreads. By using the white duvet covers all the laundry can be done together. They need to pay extra attention to the accessories, as they will be the only way to carry the theme of the resort into the room. I like what they did to WL, and even CR since they kept the mid-century modern vibe going. I am looking forward to the new rooms at BWI when I stay there in the fall.

KerryCM--would love if they went back to that theme. We bought a comforter, the throw pillows, curtains-had them resized, and a pic last time they redid the rooms.:p

Checking into Boardwalk today, room isn't ready yet but I was told that we will have a 4th floor garden view.

That sounds lovely. I think (if Kook's estimate is right), the refurb of the 4th floor is part way done. Maybe you'll get one of the brand spanking "new" rooms. Please post photos of your room and view whether you have a rehabbed one or not.

Enjoy your trip! I'm way jealous.

Hi everyone! I just booked a trip a few minutes ago, and I'll be staying at BWI from 9/18 - 9/23! I've stayed at BWI once before in 2003, and I was disappointed that I never saw any of the entertainment on the boardwalk. Is there a schedule of when there is entertainment, or is it something spontaneous that you just have to catch when it happens?

It's somewhat spontaneous, but it's every evening. Will be hard to miss! I think back when you went it was only some nights, now it's 7 days a week. :thumbsup2

Just booked yesterday for our last big family trip before our oldest heads off to college.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what to request for a standard room? (view/floor etc?) Thanks!
