I was able to book the Deluxe CL room with the 30% off Summer discount this morning.

I missed this post because I was following this thread on 3/18:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=50983862

I'm curious how you may have gotten 30% off with this promo?

I called three times that day, the first two CM's told me that there were no more BWI deluxe CL rooms available for that time (early Aug) with thsi promo. But when I spoke with a third CM (who was the most informative) she told that there was only one deluxe CL room that had been made available for this promo (and already sold out) but that it was only available at a 10% discount.

Checking online the price of WL deluxe CL rooms -which are a similar size to BWI deluxe CL - it definitely showed a 10% discount. This is consistent with the WDW website which says: Moderate and Deluxe Resort suites may be available at a lesser discount.

So how, may I ask, were you able to get a 30% discount?

It is 30/35% off if it is available for your dates. I just checked and it is available for my dates and it come up with a 35% discount if more than 6 nights stay.

They must not have anymore rooms for when you are going.

I just checked and it is available for my dates

Are your dates near the 4th of July?

Edit:wait it says in your sig: Jul/Aug'14 - I'm not finding anything there available at that discount?

FWIW, I just checked 7/9-7/12 and voila! Deluxe CL room available. Regular price per night...736
offer price 515.

Availability can change frequently. Obviously, the search is not always going to be successful. If it is, though, sometimes the key is patience, sometimes it's splitting a stay or tweaking dates..and sometimes it's just luck. :thumbsup2

Thanks, that does work.... but if I change the checkout date to 7/15 to make for a 6 night stay for 35%.... it's NA.

Guess I have to keep checking occasionally.

I would check back every day. It took me 3 days of calling every day to get the discount and room I wanted. Last time we called every day for 3 months and the room never opened up. However, once we got there (and without us saying anything) we were upgraded to that room for free! So, patience is the key (:

Did you get the CM rate? How's DD doing?

We're DVC, so that's not an issue. But trust me, future cruises, we'll definitely keep that in mind.

She's doing great. She did Traditions on Saturday and picks up her costumes today. I didn't realize that Photopass photographers had different costumes depending on location. Since she's doing resorts, she said she's going to have a shift at Chef Mickeys. So jealous.

But I did get to talk to some very nice people, some I have missed since that trip is over. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Update - we found a 6-day stretch available during the period we wanted, so we grabbed it and added 2 days at the WL preceding it. That's 2 nights at WL for 10% off followed by 6 nights at BWI for 35% off. Our first split-stay. Woohoo! :)

If you haven't seen the news, this is spreading fast. WDWInfo is reporting:

Kouzzina by Cat Cora will be closing September 30. Reservations can be made up until then. A new restaurant concept will open in its place this fall.

Can't say I'm too sad about this. We've eaten there twice, a few years apart, and both times they brought over the main course when we weren't even near being done with our appetizers. That really shouldn't happen at a decent restaurant, and definitely not twice out of two times! The place is huge, and it was pretty empty when we went last November, so this isn't a huge surprise.

Hopefully they reopen the new place by our December trip!

That's sad to me. I adore the Fisherman's Stew. We did have service issues in January--both for dinner and breakfast--and the breakfast menu has been "dummied down" over the years. I'll be there later this week and didn't book an ADR for K but may now, just to have the stew one last time;)

I hope they have a new restaurant in place by early December, too, since I was planning an early December trip to see the holiday decorations--one of my favorite WDW times!

Kook-LOL I have our next three trips in the next three years written out with where we are eating, what days we are going to which park, etc. I am definitely a planner. DD wants some of her senior pics done at the Boardwalk and EPCOT so we are putting that into the plan next summer as well. The same friend will be joining us then so she can be in pics, as well as DDs good friend from Florida.:thumbsup2
Love your planning enthusiasm and that's what makes going to WDW extra fun is all the planning and anticipation that goes along with it:thumbsup2

OK, I know I should already know the answer to this...

We are staying in a Deluxe CL the first week of August. I know that the lounge is being rehabbed before we get there. But, what about the actual rooms? Are they going to get a refurb too?
There is some confusion about this. It's been reported that only the lounge/Innkeeper's Club is being re-done and not the rooms. Why they aren't relocating the lounge and keeping the rooms open, as is usually done at other resorts, is unknown. This would suggest a room rehab might occur, but none has been officially reported. However, last year, Disney filed permits indicating a BWI room rehab would take place this year and be completed in the fall (see my reply in the next post). BWI rooms haven't been rehabbed since 2009 so they are due. I'll be staying at BWI in June and will try to find out more about the room rehab if someone doesn't post here soonerpopcorn::

DH and I were talking this morning about how much we are looking forward to our fall BWI stay. :cool1:

Kook, do you have information about what they are going to do with the lounge rehab? Can I hope for a little lounge frig for my diet coke rather than the
box of melting ice?
Are they doing any other updates at BWI? Thanks a bunch for any and all info! :flower3:

UGH to the sinking yogurts, beer and sodas in the melting ice bucket. ITA that it sure would make a lot of sense to have fridges like all the other CLs.

This might be a good time to post the BWI room rehab info. that I posted last year:

"All I know about the BWI rehab is what I posted back in October:

I accessed the actual Permit/Notice of Commencement dated 10/17/13 and the only description in the permit is "Room Rehab." The land description is: BoardWalk Inn Guest Rooms.

It also states: The expiration date may not be before the completion of and final payment to the contractor, but will be 1 year from the date of recording unless a different date is specified... 09/27/2014. I interpret that as meaning the expected completion will have to be before 9/27/14, but an actual start date is not given."

How neat that she'll be a resort photographer! Maybe we'll see her in June.

Saw that in the DIS Email this morning. Thank you for posting the details here for everyone. I booked a breakfast there for June since we've never been, but seeing that they're closing and getting frequent negative service reviews, I think I'm going to change to maybe Captain's Grille for our BWI TS breakfast. We've never tried breakfast there, but the menu sounds promising...Lobster Omelets...

Any thoughts/opinions on CG? How is the buffet? Anyone have a favorite Epcot Resort Area TS breakfast:listen:

Thanks for sharing! I completely missed this! Hopefully something yummy will take its place before our trip in January ;)

Thank you for the update! I knew I had read something about the BWI rooms possibly being refurbished, but for the life of me I couldn't remember what I had read.

The first time we stayed at YC the rooms had just been refurbished. And then, we got to stay in the POR Royal Rooms the month after they were completed. And, last August we stayed at the Polynesian in a very newly refurbished room. And the one thing I learned....I really, really, really like staying in a new, freshly refurbished room! I think I have become something of a refurb-snob.

Here's hoping the BWI decides to do a rehab on the rooms before we get there in August. 2009? Seems like they are probably due!

Hi Everyone

I will be staying at the BW Villas for the first time in September. I noticed BW doesnt have a foodcourt, where would I fill my mug up with coffee in the morning and soda in the evening?

Thank you
Matt

The Belle Vue Lounge has coffee in big urns where you can get coffee and refills in the morning. There are two blends and people seemed generally happy with the coffee. (I don't drink coffee, but spent early mornings in the lounge doing work every morning during my trip earlier this month.)

As another poster noted, you can also get refills in the Boardwalk Bakery. I think the Belle Vue Lounge is more convenient myself. Pastries and fruit is also available. (For hot breakfast items, you have to go to the Bakery.)
