Hello, my family and I will be staying at the BWI in November. This will be a first for us - staying at BWI and traveling to Disney in November:woohoo:r. We are really excited and so thrilled to be avoiding the August heat! We have always stayed at the Poly - but have decided we need a change and we do love Epcot.

Can anyone tell me please, can we walk from BWI to Cape May in BC?

Yes, it's a very easy walk from BWI to the BC. You just follow the walkway around Crescent Lake -- there is a walkway all the way around the lake. Also, you can catch the Friendship from BWI to the BC/YC dock (on its way to DHS, it will stop at BC/YC). If the boat is right there, it'll save some walking.

Thank you so much Sandi!

can anyone point me towards a map or outline of where the standard view DVC units are? I know where the DVC BW views are, we had a great stay in April there. Looking to see where the standard view studios are located or where they look out onto. Thanks:thumbsup2

The actual map is around somewhere, but if you look at a BW map, the whole inner leg of the "H" on the Villa side that comes out of the entrance are the standard views, so they face the port cochere, parking lot, fountain, etc., all the way from the lobby down to the end going towards DHS.

thanks! so what are the rooms that overlook the community center and quiet pool? When renting from DVC the points are either standard or preferred BW view. so there is no middle pool view between. If I am going to save money I was wondering where they overlook, so thank you for helping me out! If the cost is not that much then its a no brainer to take the BW view :rotfl:

There should be three booking catagories when dealing with DVC vs Disney (as a cash reservation). There should be standard (look out towards the bus stop and front entrance area, or at the very end looking out towards DHS and a parking lot), preferred (view of anything that isn't the boardwalk..such as a pool, gardens) or boardwalk view (actual view of the boardwalk).
The villas that look out on the quiet pool/community center are a preferred view. I've had a villa there several times.
The boardwalk view and preferred view are the same cost in points..it's just a first come, first served type thing. Those that book boardwalk view first, get them. Once they're gone, they're gone.

thanks!!! That is what I remember from booking for this last april. My friend who is DVC was on the line at the 7 month mark on the dot and told me that preferred or BW view were the same cost and both were available. So of course I took BW view. If the preferred pool/garden are not cheaper then I will not go for that if the other is open. Standard will be the only cheaper way it seems!

I am having a challenging time using a BB at BWI this fall. Guess it's my dates. I ended up booking a Garden Suite for three nights to use the BB, and then the rest of our stay is Standard CL.
I figure this gives us a chance to try to Garden rooms, but also have most of our visit with close proximity to the lounge.
Hopefully it will turn out to be a happy Boardwalk Inn adventure! :dance3:

Okay, changed my room preference request from King bed, to 5th floor with Epcot view! :) Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed. LOL
Thanks again WDWKook!
That's exactly our request for next month, plus "no connecting room." Multiple appendages crossed for both of us:hug:

Just two! Have to make the most of the birthday!
:thumbsup2

I know if I read through all these posts I'll probably find an answer to this question but I'm being lazy:)
On the club level standard rooms are there any king size beds? If there are any would they be garden or boardwalk view? We are returning to the BWI Sept.23 to Sept.30 staying standard CL and my first choice is boardwalk view but I would love a King bed. I have never had much luck with room requests, even though we go at slower times of the year, and was just wondering if they even have boardwalk view king beds in the CL.
Not lazy - a good excuse to have you posting to our thread and I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

According to Touring Plans, which may be incorrect, there aren't any King CL rooms. I find that hard to believe though. Maybe someone who knows for certain will post:listen:. I only know for sure that the Garden Cottages have king beds and the suites.

Also, the CL views aren't bookable at BWI. But, you can request either a BWV or a GV. The 10 Deluxe rooms automatically all have BWVs.

Can anyone tell me what the options are at online check-in? I heard that some studios have daybeds and I'd love to have one, I feel like it'd be roomier than with a pack and play stuck somewhere. Otherwise, what should I request for a standard view studio?
I only know about the BWI OCI options. I'm sorry I can't help you with BWV. But, I can tell you that any requests you would like to make should be made through the WDTC, if you booked a cash reservation. It's fine to do OCI, but the pre-set options are often not applicable to your booking and/or very limiting.

Just booked a 2 BR, standard view villa for February! What can I expect?

Congratulations! I've never stayed in the BWV, but others have who can help you. Is there anything specific you're wondering about?

Great Thread!! My family LOVES BWI!!! 160 days and counting!!!Been staying here for 6 years now and fall in love with it more and more every time we go. We stay in club level and the cast members are more like family then cast members to us. We've stayed other places but our hearts belong to BWI!!!
Welcome to the thread! We love your enthusiasm and it's great you've found your Disney "home." Happy planning:)

Welcome to the thread! You're going to love being able to walk to BC/YC, Epcot and DHS. You can even walk to Fantasia Golf and Swolphin. November will be great with cooler weather and less threat of storms. It's so much fun to try new resorts.

Cant wait to check out the Christmas stuff. Thanks for all the info.
In case you missed it, I have a CHRISTMAS PHOTO section in the thread:santa:

Touring Plans shows you HERE. You can also click on the room that will be highlighted on the map and it will give you detailed information about the room and a room view photo.

Have you tried using the Military Rate 40% off? Do you have any date flexibility?

Any there now that knows if the CL lounge rehab is underway? Is it just the lounge, or the CL rooms too? I think it was supposed to start May 12th.

Not exactly sure what you're looking for. Most likely you'll end up with a one bedroom that has a door in the living room that opens up to..... another door! That door opens up into the sitting area of a studio. Both the one bedroom and the studio will have a door to the hallway, and your keycard(s)/magicband(s) will open both doors. The studio is one room -- you walk in and there's a bathroom, then bed, then sofabed on one side. The sliding glass doors will open to a private patio/balcony, and then the other side of the room (going back up to the main door) will have a small table (maybe not; maybe just the connecting door -- it's been a while since I've had a 2BR) then the cabinetry that has a few drawers and holds the TV, then a wet bar with small microwave, toaster, small fridge and coffeemaker. The one bedroom will open up with a bathroom on one side and a full kitchen on the other. If you continue farther into the room, the master bedroom (with bed, TV, dresser, etc.) will be on the same side as the bathroom and the living room (with a pullout sofa, TV, probably a chair) will be on the same side as the kitchen. There will be a small closet next to the kitchen that will have a stacked washer and dryer. A patio/balcony will be accessible from the living room (and maybe from the master bedroom? I can't remember.) Rarely would it be connected to the patio/balcony of the studio.

You'll get one or two packages of coffee and tea, one small box of laundry detergent, one small bottle of dishwashing detergent, and (I think just) one box/bottle/whatever for a load of dishes in the dishwasher. The coffee and tea may be repeated in the studio portion (technically, I guess, that's the second bedroom). Do note that there is *no* salt and pepper included, however you should have at least enough 'real' plates, bowls and silverware for at least 4 and probably closer to 8 people. You should also get at least one pot and something that's useable for a baking sheet. I suspect there's at least one skillet, as well as a few utensils to use when cooking. The last time I had a 1 bedroom, there were a couple of storage containers but I'm not sure if they had been left by previous tenants or if DVC was supplying them.

A standard view will be basically any one of the rooms that you can see to your right when you're standing at the bus stop. The closer you are to the elevator, the closer to the lobby you'll be. The further from the elevator, the closer to the parking lot you'll be.

Yes, rooms and lounge are being rehabbed right now. I have a rehab update on the first page and this is the last update I posted:

Would love an update on BW refurb if you get a chance to check it all out over there....no pressure.;)

Hi. We'll be staying at the BWV for 3 nights the 3rd week of August. We're staying in a standard studio using rented points. (I understand where these are located, that the elevators are near the lobby, this lobby area can be loud, and the hallways are long.) I'm looking for room request suggestions. Here's our situation.

- we'll only be going to HS and Epcot during this time; approx equal time for each (maybe a little more at Epcot)
- DD and DH are afraid of heights (so thinking 1st floor or maybe 2nd).
- DD has some special needs, so stairs are hard. She needs a quiet area that's not too far away from everything.
- was thinking about 1st floor, but I'm wondering about critters.
- DH likes waterways so I'm considering canal view down at the end, but worried about distance??

"On paper," it seems like I should ask for 2nd floor about halfway down hallway. I've never stayed here, though, so I'm not sure if that's the best choice and if that's even a legit way to request that. Any advice is appreciated :)

We've offically moved our rez from the Poly to BW and I am thrilled because the CL staff at the poly have been less than helpful and kind of rude.

I was really bummed because I want my parents to experience the poly CL but now that I am in touch with the BWI CL CMs (is that enough acronyms for ya?) I am thrilled.

They responded to emails so fast and didn't just answer my questions, they went ahead and made arrangements based on my questions! Totally pro-active.

We'll be there 11/1 through 11/8. We have all our ADRs (even though I keep changing them) and my twin daughters' 10th birthday surprises set up at Akershus (b'fast) and Narcoossee's (dinner). Also doing the terrace dessert party for the first time.

can not wait!

Just returned from our 5 night stay at Boardwalk Villas (5/12-517) in a standard 1BR. First stay in a villa & loved it. Third stay at Boardwalk (twice at the Inn in a standard room & garden view suite); the staff is lovely, friendly & accommodating. Asked for high floor, quiet area & it was perfect! Overlooked Swan/Dolphin & walking path/waterway to Hollywood Studios. Just a few feet to a stairwell, down a few flights & we were on that path or next door at Luna Pool. We are planning another stay for a few nights during F& W (bounce back offer at BWI).
