I believe the pool is pretty much always open, it doesn't have a fence like SAB. They close the slide and the lifeguards leave, but we have been in the pool much later in the evening, with no problems.

I have to say, I didn't really care for the way the Lifeguards closed down the slide on our trip. First of all, there didn't seem to be a "set time"--even when we asked they just said "sometime between 8 and 10"...so I guess it is just up to the lifeguards discretion?

Then when they shut it down, it just ended, with many people still waiting in line. One poor little boy (maybe 3 or 4 years old) was crying so hard because he would have been the next to go down--then just "closed". I think it would have been better if they stopped allowing people to get in line after a certain time, and allowed all those already in line to go down. It just seemed mean to allow people to wait a long time, for nothing.

This was during our stay in mid May--is it always like that?

I agree that the way they closed down the slide so abrubtly was pretty dumb. However, that's great that the pool itself is open for 24 hours. I'm staying at BCV so I'll hafta try out the BWV pool early one morning. And no, I'm not abusing pool privileges, I'm a DVC member :)

Gosh, that must be new. They always had hours posted on the sign at the pool. Like 10 to 10. Or something like that.

When we were there last August, the quiet pool was definitely open 24/7, and one night around midnight, we wandered over for a dip in Luna Park and surprise! The pool was full! There must have been 50 people in it... And they were being quite loud! It was definitely open and no one was stopping them.

We were at BWV the end of May of this year and expected the main pool to be closed around 10p. But yeah, we were able to swim there after that. I believe hubby checked and was told the lifeguards leave at 10p (so the slide closes then) but people are able to use the pool after that. We were probably out there until close to 11:30p. While we were there a pair of ducks flew into the pool, swam a bit, then flew away!

Donald and Daisy?

The posted pool hours at all WDW resorts generally apply to the time period that lifeguards are present and therefore, the time that the slide will be open. Except for SAB, which I believe is closed off completely after hours or when a lifeguard is not present.

I think the pool hours change due to seasons. I know the Dunes Cove pool at the BCV which does not have a lifeguard has posted hours. You will see in the photo though the hours are changeable.

Doing the happy dance! :yay:

I just checked in online this morning, officially starting the single digit countdown until we get to fall asleep in the arms of the Mouse and drifting off to the sounds of Stacy laughing her way through all of the Walt Disney World must-do attractions!

Oh, and Jellyolls? HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to hear a little about Jellyrolls. I never hear too much about it. Is it good? Seems to be overlooked. :confused3

I apologize but I did not read through this entire thread. Can anyone tell me if booking a "waterview" room will actually get us a room overlooking the lake? Also how does one go about getting a balcony room?

Thanks for your help.:)

I can't speak to the waterview question, but there are literally just one or two rooms that do NOT have a balcony, every other room does. It's a safe bet that you would get a balcony. If you got one of those rooms without one, I would immediately ask to be switched.

No. Water just has to be overlooking "water" - that includes the canal and the swimming pools.

Thanks. We just switched from the Beach Club to the Boardwalk. I did request a Boardwalk view but I know that it will depend on the inventory when we arrive.

If we're talking BWV, then yes, you are correct, but if we are talking BWI, it's a different story. At the Inn, there's a quiet pool out back, but the rooms that face it are considered standard/garden views. Pretty sweet if you ask me (or should I say "suite"...ya know since it's a hotel...:rotfl:...anyone?).

ANYWAY...
I would assume that if you're staying in a standard, that is a non-Club Level room, and you've booked a water view, then by George, you're going to be facing the Boardwalk.

The reason I mention non-Club Level, is that standard Club Level rooms can either face the (lovely) inner courtyards/quiet pool or they can face the Boardwalk. It's really a roll of the dice. In fact....and I probably shouldn't breathe this....I'm surprised Disney hasn't separated the Club Level views to charge more for the ones overlooking the Boardwalk.

Can anyone confirm where exactly the 10 deluxe CL rooms are? There appear to be 12 windows over Seashore Sweets and Boardwalk Bakery that would fit the bill. I notice that 2 of the doors on the 4th floor don't have any kind of an awning. I'm wondering if those are not Deluxe CL rooms....any ideas?

This might sound crazy :cool1:, but does anyone know what air freshener does the BWI use? Or what is creating the smell inside the resort and rooms? I love that smell!

TIA!
