Close to a decision

Hello All,

On my 7/28 disney cruise, I attended the DVC presentation. I signed up for 150 points at the Wilderness Lodge. I received my contract and filled everything out. Now I am questioning myself..... because I have never been to the Wilderness Lodge so I am purchasing sight unseen.

History:
Family consist of myself and 12 years old son, who lived in Central Florida for 10 years. Not very interested in going to the parks every years, since we visted over 100 times already, but loved the cruise and can see going every other year on a cruise. Already own a timeshare and is a member of II already. Timeshare is in Mexico (actually is a vacation club that have units all over Mexico, one in Spain, etc).


I want to know how is the studio units, I am used to having a one bedroom unit when I travel, but since never spent a lot of time in the unit, is willing to try studio. Also show I try for a different location?

Also is there an advantage to purchasing from Disney vs resales?

A DVC membership is best used if you plan to travel to Disney at least everyother year. If WDW offers no intrigue for you, perhaps it isn't right for you at this time. The other theme that is reiteratted here time after time is, 'buy where you want to stay'. It is also a good idea not only for within Disney, but also vacations in general. If you are interested in doing the cruise every time, then you should look at the least expensive resale in the least expensive to maintain DVC resort. I don't do cruises, so you would need to check on what is the number of points required for cruising as often as you want.

Studios at OKW are nice and large. Can't tell you about the others since I only stay at OKW, but they will all be better than a regular hotel room.

I guess the first question I would ask myself is if and when I go to Disney is VWL where I want to stay? Do I enjoy the surroundings enough to want to stay there most times. While making reservations at other DVC resorts is possible the 11 month booking window is very key especially if you are traveling in busy periods. If another resort is where you wanted to be like BWV or OKW then you can still get those through resale.

DVC concept is a no brainer as for the investment but secondly the resort is important.
