Hi All! We'll be staying at the Vistana Resort. We have a Friday thru Friday stay. We plan on arriving a day early, and we'd like to stay within walking distance of Old Town, for a one-night stay Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The Days Suites and Days Inn are right next door. We stayed at the Days Suites in November in a 1-bedroom suite for $39.95. It was great and included free Old Town ride tickets. They also have some regular rooms even cheaper. Check daysinn.com or thhotels.com for rates. There is also a Quality Suites but the tend to be more expensive (but do include breakfast).

You are going to hear some negative things about the Days Suites and Days Inn at Old Town. We have stayed at the Days Inn at Old Town x2 in the last year or so. We stayed April '02 for $19.99 a night and then this past February for $32.00 a night.

If you don't have luxurious expectations for this room then it's not bad. Everything worked, it was clean, it was pretty modern looking, and there were no bugs. But the carpets were really worn in spots, the wall paper was a little ratty in places. For the price versus how much time we actually spent there, I didn't think it was bad. The pool and hotel grounds were both really clean and well kept.

I found the best prices at go2orlando.com. Better yet the Days Inn website says they'll beat any lower internet price by 10%. On our last trip go2orlando.com was about $6.00 cheaper per night. I didn't try to get the 10% cheaper (I guess I couldn't be bothered), but if you have the time it could really be a bargain. Also, they website has no service charges and the same cancellation policy as the hotel and a one nights deposit or credit card guarantee depends on the time of year.

If you want to upgrade a bit from the Days Inn/Suites, try the Quality Suites Maingate East right next to the Days Inn.

I have stayed at the Quality Suites as well (March 2002). As I said in my first post, it tends to be more expensive but does include breakfast. They have a nicer pool area but otherwise I really didn't feel it was any better than the Days Suites. Dollar for dollar, I think Days Suites is the better deal.

Thanks Everyone! We found a place. We'll be at the Motel 6, next to Old Town. A friend of mine just stayed there. All we wanted is a cheap, clean, safe place, next to Old Town for one night. We're not too worried about luxury, as I'm sure we'll have that aplenty at the Vistana Resort.(lol!) We got the room for $31.99. Thanks, again!!
