clogged toilets! (yes thats what I said - lol)

ncligs,

Your graphics are funny!

At home, a good 'ol strategic flush will reduce clogging. You know, flushing in the middle of the procedure. This might help on the cruise, too, but look out for the power flusher suction.

Hopkins,
Yeah.....my husband is the bathroom officianato at our home! He was the coach for our 3.5 yr old.....and yes he taught him that very handy procedure..............
HOWEVER.....Now I am changing the game plan...................
I'M NOT LOSING MY KID DOWN THE DRAIN ON HIS 4TH BIRTHDAY CRUISE!!!!!
Lets face it it would put a damper on the whole vacation! LOL

So now if you ask Matt the proper way to flush.......
GET OFF....drop the lid and press the button.....hey maybe I should have him call me to do the honors just in case LOL!!!!

I just have to laugh at this post!

We had the clog problem in our last house, so when we moved into our new home, DH said he would fix the problem. He went to Canada to buy the 3 gallon flush toilets. Well, our neighbors heard about this, so they placed their orders. So, here is DH and 3 of his buddies making a "toilet run" to Canada. At the border they ask the reason for your trip and what you bought. I would have loved to see the guards face when DH said 5 toilets!

And yes, on ship, don't be anywhere near the toilets when you flush. They are very strong. DH is trying to figure out how to install them in our house!

But seriously,
You do NOT want to be sitting on the toilet when flushing, it can be dangerous. I know that you would have to be a contortionist to push the button, but I suppose it is possible.

MyMom reminded me that when we went to visit her and Dad (they were in upstate NY, near Canadian border) for Christmas one year - my oldest DS "THE CLOGGER" - had us running around on Christmas Eve because none of our plungers would work and we had to try to find a plumber's helper (one of those coils that the professional's use) to unclog their ONLY toilet.

I wish we'd had known about those Canadian 3 gallon flush toilets back then. But again, I go back to the "shoulda built the kid an outhouse" theory!

Ohhh, the sound of those shipboard toilets! They definitely would be an asset for many of our homes!

Wow, for all of you "cloggers" out there, I have just one word:

METAMUCIL!!!

Really, imgoingtodisney, the toilets on the ship are truly "industrial strength", and I don't think you will have a problem. . .

As I said before, the key to having the plumbing remain clog free is to "keep your paperwork to a minimum". As the use of the computer increases both at home and in the workplace we are becoming a paperless society. Does that mean that the bathroom will become a paperless place as well ? That would surely cut down on the clog issue. Will the future bring us the e-toilet ?
Just some things to think about.
