I'm doing 10 weeks on a surgery rotation right now, and I was loving it, except for one little problem. By the end of a long case, my feet, back, and knees would all hurt. By the time I'd get home at the end of the day, I could hardly make it up the stairs. Well, everyone knows it's very popular for surgeons and others that work in hospitals to wear clogs. Personally, I think they are ugly as sin, but after suffering in a pair of sneakers for a couple weeks, I bit the bullet, and threw down the cash for a pair of clogs.

I was just on call in the hospital, I arrived at 5:30 yesterday morning, left at around 9:30 this morning, and was on my feet the entire time (lots of accidents requiring emergency surgery happens on Friday nights). I was physically exhausted, but my back and my knees? No problem. Now I get why everyone wears them. I bought a pair of Sanista's, and apparently they are made by the company that made the original Dansko's, which are now made in China and are wider, according to the guy at The Walking Store.

I am now a proud wearer of ugly clog shoes. I credit those shoes for being teh sole (hehe) reason for being able to drive home in no pain.

yes, I converted to the ugly clogs years ago :thumbsup2 my feet never hurt!
have you seen all the funky new colors and patterns in some of the danskos?
if you can be creative in your shoe choice, there are some cool ones now.

I've never thought of my Danskos as ugly.:rolleyes1 I just love them for their relief from plantar faciitis.
