Just like Wave Phones and that red body/throw pillow. It could've been another big charge opportunity. They still have 90s style cordless phones in their cabins and charge $200 for it if one goes missing, but they're worried about a $30 clock in there?

We had to ask for a clock on the Fantasy. It was already in our room on the Wonder. I noticed there wasn't a clock in our room at Port Orleans either. What does Disney have against clocks?

I have no idea. When we stayed at AKL last summer, there wasn't a clock in our room either. I thought it was odd.

So they can afford a Disney cruise but feel the need to steal a clock? It's not the same as taking the H2O products

I don't get it, either. Those clocks, even the new ones, are no great shakes. They're not even Disney-branded, so not really much of a souvenir.

"And here's the crown jewel of our DCL mementos - the ****ty non-descript alarm clock with two USB ports in the front. What? No, it doesn't say 'Disney Cruise Line" on it, but it did come from our statero- What? No, there's no Mickey on it either. But trust me - it's from DCL. ... Sure, you may say that you saw this same alarm clock on sale at Target for $8.99, but I'm telling you, this one here is special because I stole it."

I don't really think it's about them being stolen but more about cost effectiveness. The cost to purchase them plus reducing power usage on the ships. Think about it, the new ships have the room key slots for power in hopes that your room will be using zero power when you're not in it. They're always wanting you to unplug everything. The limited power outlets in the staterooms. The more power we all use the more fuel they purchase. They used to have battery powered clocks in the rooms that were really nice & DCL themed. If you stole it, your room was charged a pretty hefty price. They even "invited" you to "steal" it by telling you the price of it if you wanted to take it home or buy a new one in the gift shop where they were also available to purchase. I think they got away with not having them in the staterooms so figured they'd continue the theme at the resorts. It's all about "conservation" aka saving them money. Just like the resorts' housekeeping not automatically washing all the towels or bedsheets every day. It helps the environment but also their bottom line.

If you had no other choice and were charging over night, they'd be fine, but I just got out my 5 port Anker (recommended on DIS, thank you... it was perfect) and plugged it in beside the clock. I like having a clock in the room, but the stateroom host had to change the time for me. I couldn't figure it out.

Seems like those "pass-through" USB charging ports, like those alarm clocks or the lamps in some hotels, never really have the amperage to charge quickly.

Had a clock on the Wonder in March, and I know because it was so bright I had to turn it so it faced the wall. Maybe next time, I will ask the stateroom host to take it out!

All three cruises we had a clock, the last two in 2014 and 2016 had the charger dock, kids loved playing music on that.

I just ordered a small battery powered clock off amazon for like 10 bucks that has dimming display. I like a clock in the room as one of my favorite things about vacation is turning the cell phone off and putting it away!

They also don't like clocks in the common areas either on DCL. We are always just baffled by this. It is like you are in a casino and they don't want you to know the time

The one thing I really miss on DCL compared to RCCL is the little plates in the elevators with the days of the week on them.

I wear a watch and have my fitbit on, so telling time isn't the issue. But sometimes remembering what day it is...

14 DCL cruises and we've always had a clock in our cabin. In fact, it seems like most people posting here have had clocks.

In those cases where one is missing perhaps it is as simple as the previous guest asked the attendant to remove the clock and it just wasn't returned. Like MissMet, I doubt DCL removed them due to theft. If that was the case, it would be fleet wide or at the very least consistent on a particular ship.

Those clocks were charming although I remember them as a ship's wheel not a propeller.
