Clock is really ticking now.. What do you have left to do?

Tree is up and decorated; living room is decorated (well - the mantel - LOL); all stocking stuffers purchased; all gifts wrapped..

All we have left to do is bake some cookies this weekend and it's clear sailing from that point on till Christmas Day..:thumbsup2

How is everyone else doing? :santa:

My "to do" list is getting shorter every day...not because I am getting it all done, but because I have to delete some of the things because I am running out of time. We leave for WDW tomorrow afternoon and come back December 23, so I was hoping to have it all done...not gonna happen. So far I have removed neighbor gifts and Christmas cards from the list!

What I absolute have to finish is decorating the tree, wrapping at least some presents, clean bathrooms, finish packing, and put boxes away. I really ought to be able to do that today, wouldn't you think?

Arminnie, :grouphug: such a difficult time, I can relate a little, my dad entered rehab health care for dementia and a multitude of things 6 days ago, taking DD in for heart tests today, we were to be arriving at the Dolphin tomorrow...so nothing accomplished here. Trip off, hospitals on, dad 4 states away, just got DD home from college to get these tests done..but as so many stories explain, Christmas is not about all the bows and decorations, so for those of us who may not get it all "done" this year...Christmas will still come.

Everything and nothing. I have no tree, no decorations, no cards, no presents wrapped, etc.

But my dad had a massive stroke this am (I've been living with him for the past decade) so will probably not do anything except plan for the funeral when he passes. The doctors said his time left is in days or hours at most. He is comfortable and has not regained consciousness.

It's probably easier for me to tell you what I've done instead of what I have left to do! :lmao: I bought a gift for my daughter and a few things for my son. That's it. No decorations, no tree, no gift for hubby, etc.

Arminnie, I'm so sorry.

Arminnie

All the gifts are bought, but have to be wrapped. The stockings went missing so I have to find them or figure out what to do if we can't. The only other thing is to bake cookies sometime next week.

All ready.

Nice to see that "clean up" has been completed.:lmao:

ETA: Arminnie, sorrry to hear about your Dad. I hope he is not in pain. Remember all the great times you had, especially the last 10 years.

Today and tomorrow I am concentrating on baking: 3 pumpkin rolls, fudge, hershey kiss and thumbprint cookies.

Gifts are all wrapped, just need to put them under the tree and I'll do that today as well.

Cards are done and sent out.

Stockings are stuffed. Only one more gift to buy on Sunday, and I think it will be a restaurant gift card so that one's easy.

Saturday I want to start on housecleaning.

Monday I will get Christmas Day groceries, and the rest of Monday and Tuesday will be house cleaning and preparing (cutting up meats, cheeses, veggies, etc.) as much food as I can for the "Big Day."

Wednesday and Thursday will be more food prep and last minute vacuuming and dusting. And Thursday night is the Christmas Eve candlelight service at church so we plan to go to that with my Mom, then she will be spending the night with us to be here on Christmas morning.

Everything is coming together very nicely and no stress, so it's all good. :) Concentrating on the "reason for the season" helps immensely in that department.

Wow - this is exactly where I am with everything! Let me guess, you are a wonderful organizer aren't you?? My biggest strenght is organization so I'm one of those that most people dislike this time of year ;) because I'm all done with everything and just sitting back enjoy all the season's blessings.

arminnie - I am sorry about your dad.

I have all gifts bought except for a gift for our neighbors who surprised us with one the other night and a card with money I need to send out.

I have all gifts wrapped except three that came in the mail this week and one I forgot to wrap last weekend.

I need to bake and clean and tie up loose ends this weekend. Woo Hoo!

Leaving for AZ tomorrow. Once there I have to wrap presents and make some cookies.
That's it.

I am pretty sure I have left the worst for last. I have to find a gift for my Mother in Law. I'm thinkin' B&N gift card, but I'd have to put it IN something nice, and Heaven Forbid it be something like a coffee mug!

arminnie: So sorry about your dad.. Will send you a PM..

To everyone else: Still plenty of time left - right? LOL.. Sometimes people work better when they're right down to the wire and the pressure is on.. Good luck! :santa:

All gifts are purchased and have 2 left to wrap. Decorations are done. Only I need to do is a little baking. Will do some tonight and finish this weekend.

I still have to gather things up for WDW. Haven't started pulling things together at all and we leave the weekend after Christmas! :cool1:

 to you arminnie. We lost my dad and my grandma 6 months ago & this is the first Christmas in my 38 years that I have not been with them:sad1:.

This thread is a good kick in the pants;)! Just got home from helping w/ dd3's story hour party, and instead of collapsing in an exhausted heap, I will be trying to get as much done today as possible! There will be time for collapsing after Christmas, right!. Still need to: wrap many more gifts, unpack last suitcase from our trip, do many loads of laundry, re-decorate main-floor bathroom (just need to hang a new shower curtain, towel hooks & add pretties), take care of dd3, and dd10 (who is home sick today:scared1:), take ds7 to get a haircut, decide what to make for the party for 40 people we're having on Sat:scared1:, get groceries, decide which food to make for Christmas day, and make ahead dinners to freeze for 5 days of skiing over Christmas, pack 5 people for 5 day trip, including tons of snow/skiing gear, have in-laws over for Christmas tomorrow, get kids outfits ready for the Sunday school program on Sun (yes, at 9 am the morning after the 40 people are at our home all night:scared1:), make and take treats to ds7's classroom, distribute gifts to 9 teachers. Sigh, I'm sure there are a few more things I'm forgetting. Take ds to a b-day party Sat, take dd3 to preschool, take dd10 to b-ball practice Sat, and piano lessons Mon. Wow, I think I need some pixie dust - lol! I'd better get crackin'! Hopefully I can report back that I got much accomplished later today!

To everyone that is having a tough holiday season  So sorry. If only all of the world's sadness and problems could just stop for Christmas:sad1:
Here, every time I feel like I've made progress, I think of another 10 things I have to do! I THINK all of my shopping is done. Wait, nope-- still have to get small gifts for the cousins I see on Christmas Eve!:lmao:
Absolutely nothing is wrapped, and absolutely nothing is baked! I still need to buy supplies for cupcakes and truffles-- and then actually make them! I want them to be semi-fresh, though, so I'll probably make them Tuesday afternoon.
House and tree are decorated.

gifts are bought, but i had to take the day off just to wrap them today-it took me over 3 hours! now i'm so tired and sore, i can barely move, lol. a few of them were pretty big and hard to handle. i wrapped our gifts and my grandmother's. i just need a few stocking fillers and i'm done.

Doing pretty well, I'm off to wrap the rest of the gifts while the 2 oldest are in school (dd was feeling much better and went to school today:thumbsup2). Need to do a quick clean of the house, a few more loads of laundry, get groceries for the party and wash the new sheets/bedding for family staying over, but the house is looking good! If dd3 will be a perfect angel today I may get it all accomplished. Now THAT would be a Christmas miracle!

I can't believe I haven't wrapped anything yet... that is SO not like me!! :scared1: I don't think I've ever been as busy as I am this year, tho, so I forgive me. Plus, I have this whole weekend to work on it! ;)

I was done, until i got an email from customer service saying DH's gift isnt in stock and would they like me to cancel the order:scared1: I ordered well over a week ago and had 3-5 day shipping, I’ve been looking for it on my door step...you'd think they would let me know earlier...
So now i have to venture to the mall and think find something for DH
I truly hate shopping

I just have a few stocking stuffers left to wrap and My boss is buying two trays of Oreo Truffles from me so I have to make those. On Sunday we have our Christmas Cantata at church, and on Christmas Eve we're having dinner at my aunt's house. Other than that I'm done.
