I'm trying to make autograph books for my girls before we go to Disneyland in California. I thought I would have both girls pick there own clip art of each character they like and I'll print them on card stock and have them bound at Kinko's. They can have a place for a picture on the opposite side of the page. My problem is I've never used clip art before and I have no idea how to get it on a blank page or change the size. I thought about just printing each one then cutting it out carefully and pasting it to a blank page but that seems like way too much work. I know there's an easier way to use clip art. If anyone can walk me through it I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Phoebe

I answered this question with very detailed instructions in the "How to DISign Using MS Word" in the post after you asked it there and I posted a website where you can find great clip art. Here is the link:

The only thing I'm not sure that I addressed is how to save the clipart. The easiest way is to go to the website I mentioned in the post. When you find an image you like...click on it to open it up. Then right click on the image and in the menu that pops up click on "save as". Next save it to your pictures. Then when you have a word document open all you have to do is go to the top of the screen and click on "insert" then "picture" and "from file". Then find the file you saved it in and click on the image.

Thank you both! I can't wait to try it out. I have one month to get my books done and now I think I can do it. I am really excited to get such wonderful and helpful information here. I just need to figure out how the threads work a little better. Dolly, I'll let you know how I do when I get started. Again thank you, Phoebe:)

I did not have word prior to this post so I got it from a friend who was still able to share hers one more time. I guess it was a really old copy so it didn't have all the features of the newer versions and we have macs. I was able to play with an image but it wasn't really working. I thought I would try a free trial of the newest version but for some reason it says it's active but it won't show up. I called the customer service and they can't help me. To make a long story shorter it wiped out the word I just got and I can't afford a new one . I can get one at the local university for student price (half off) but it won't be in for two and a half weeks. I think I will take some of my trip money and get it. I am really disappointed cause I was excited to try disigning. Now my question is do you think it would be to much to ask disgners to disign my autograph cards and t shirts then I can just print them after I get word? I leave Oct. 24th so I don't want to cut it too close especially being new to this. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks a bunch, Phoebe:confused::sad1:

P.S. I want silhouette autograph cards. I'm going to use Natalie's she already has done but I need more characters. My older DD says those are too plain/not colorful enough so I would also like another set in color fairly plain just a character and their name in waltograph and a border. I would like them 4x6 and I will bind them 5x7. We are going to Disneyland so we won't see as many characters as WDW. THANKS!

DISigners would be more than happy to help you with your t-shirts. If it is just 5-10 autograph cards I'm sure they or I would be willing to help, but if it is more than that...that is a pretty big request. If it was something they were wanting to have for their own trip, then they might do it but to make 20+ autograph cards that a DISinger will never personally use is a really big request that I'm not sure someone has the extra time to take on. Just my humble opinion.

You might try using the "help" with your MAC as I'm certain MAC has a program that will allow you to insert a text box and work with pictures similar to MS Word. Most programs have a "help" button that you can click on then type in a question or words of things that you are trying to do. That is how I learned to do most everything in Word. I'm not a MAC user but I understand it is supposed to be far superior over microsoft for graphic design.

You might want to download a free, 30 day trial of Photoshop Elements. You'd be able to print, to re-size and even personalize something.

Thanks for the feed back. I'll see what kind of help I can get with my mac and I will also try to get a free trial of photoshop elements. I understand why she's not, but I wish Natalie was taking request right now because she has the silhouette cards I want. I can see what characters I really need and see if someone could just make me those. Also, I want a few shirts but haven't seen them in anyone's disigns yet, what's the best way to ask disigners to disign them for me or if they already have ones like it?

Thank you so much, Phoebe:confused:
