Hello all:

I currently have a reservation for BW Stovall's for next weekend, but i'm debating switching to Clementine Hotel (I guess it used to be a Marriott Residence Inn). They're both about the same price. I've never stayed at either location before and i'm having a hard time choosing between the two. Generally we stay at BW properties when we are down there, but Clementine also looks nice and we'd be willing to try something new.

If anyone has stayed at either of this properties recently would you be please share your experience with me?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed at the Clementine recently, but when it was a RI, it was nice. The property is a little older and was in need of some refurbishment, but the staff was terrific -- super friendly and helpful. The location is right by GardenWalk -- so there were restaurant choices close by. For us, the walk wasn't a big deal at all. I would guess that the walk from both the Clementine and Stovall's is about the same -- maybe it's a little further for Stovall's since you can't cut through the GCH any more? But you could cut through on your way back, so that evens things out. And for the Clementine, if you took ART and missed your shuttle, you could catch the shuttle for the Motel 6 next door.

Thanks @theluckyrabbit! According to Google maps the walk is about the same distance from both locations. I'm just having a hard time pulling the trigger on one more than the other.

For me, the deciding factor might be bag check. I try to avoid the Harbor bag check because of how unpredictable it can be during busy times. The DLH and DTD bag checks are hardly ever crowded or backed up. And the walk from Stovall's would let you walk through DTD, which is always fun.

Have stayed at Stovall's twice, once when you could still cut through the Grand to enter the parks and the last time, Dec. 15-19th, 2018 when you have to enter through DTD security. We didn't find the walk too bad and part of the reason for our hotel choice was to specifically avoid the Harbor Security gridlock. We NEVER waited more than 5 minutes to enter the DTD security checkpoint and we liked the option of being able to enter Disneyland by using the monorail which again saves you from Harbor gridlock and having to stand in line again at the park entrance, because once you've gone through the ticket booth at the monorail you're already in the park (DL only). We did still cut through the Grand to return at the end of the night as well - you can still do that. I am sure we saved our feet and lots of time using this entrance/monorail. One night when re-entering California Adventure later in the early evening from Stovall's I followed some folks through the gate into the Grand and entered California Adventure using the hotel access point and no on stopped me. I am sure if it had been first thing in the morning that would not have been an option, but in the evening maybe they are less vigilant on the guest only access. So I would not suggest this as a fail safe strategy, but it's worth trying if you don't mind running the risk of being told to go back and use the DTD entrance. We really ike Stovall's for their nice pool/hot tub area, it does have the view of the park, complimentary breakfast, etc. We have always had great customer service (they've allowed us to check in as early as 10 a.m. before) and never any issues -- so the price is right along with the other features that are important to me. I do not have any experience with Clementine. Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback @ChrissyLou! I actually ended up doing a complete 180 and booked at Hotel Indigo (which is another hotel we haven't stayed at). I appreciate the feedback on Stovall's though as I have them booked for another stay later on this year.

And I've never stayed at Hotel Indigo, so would love to hear your thoughts on that (although it's the Harbor side) but the hotel does look nice. Have fun!

If I remember, I will come back and let you know how Hotel Indigo is. :) I agree it does look nice! The Harbor side doesn't really bother me since we usually stay right across the street, but the price for those hotels for just a quick weekend was more than I wanted to spend.

Hotel Indigo gets good reviews on this board. There is a Starbucks and Walgreens across the street on Katella. The walk isn't bad at all. On the walk back, you'll go by the A Mart and 7-11 convenience stores, so picking up snacks and beverages for the room or for the next day in the parks is easy.

You'll love Hotel Indigo! It's one of our go-to places offsite. Super clean, modern, and awesome staff. I especially appreciate their showers -- so nice!

Yay! Glad to hear you like them! It's definitely a bit different of a hotel then we usually stay at down there. (Usually we stay at BW.)

One of my Dis friends pretty much only stays at hotel indigo when he visits DLR. I’ll be staying there in August for the D23 expo since they don’t charge for parking and don’t charge a resort fee.

We'll have a rental car so the fact that they don't charge for parking was a major plus.
