Clearwater beach in December

Been to clearwater beach in May & it was gorgeous weather, we enjoyed the captain memo's kids cruise on the bay at sunset, now going to disney at xmas & DH was asking if we should go to clearwater for a day trip then, will it be too cold to go(not in the beach waters) but for the memo cruise?

Overall the weather should be nice in December. The high's will be in the mid 70s. The gulf water should be in the low 60s. You may have a cold front that brings chilly weather for Clearwater Beach, but should only last a day or two.

We went in December 2011 and it was FREEZING!! Couldn't even on the beach it was so windy and cold. From what we heard they were in an unseasonable cold snap.

We were on Indian Rocks Beach and Longboat Key for 1 1/2 weeks from Christmas Day 2012. We wore everything from overcoats to shorts and tees. The temps went up and down a lot. We enjoyed our visit, but the weather was not always great.
