Clearwater Beach, FL Weather - Sept or Oct?

We are planning a beach trip this fall and have heard Clearwater Beach is a great choice as we've never been to a beach on the gulf. I've been told about the fabulous sandy beach and gorgeous sunsets. We have a choice of 2 weeks: 9/19-9/26 or 10/10-10/17. I'm leaning more towards the October dates as the temperature and humidity will be less as well as the chance of rain is supposed to be greatly decreased. Anyone have any experience at either of these times of year? Which week would you choose?

I would pick October. It is usually a great month weather wise. Sept is hot humid and rains almost daily (mostly afternoon showers). October is warm (mid 80's to mid 90's) and less humid and less rain.

We've only been to Siesta Key but October is beautiful
