Clearwater beach dining

We will be spending the day in clearwater beach and would like to know if anyone familiar with the area could suggest a couple good places to eat. I ran across a restauratn called Tucsons grill and cantina in clearwater( i know it is not near the beach) and it looks to have a nice lunch buffet, anyone been and can give me a review? Any other places on or near the beach for either lunch or dinner that someone can recommend? TYIA

I would recommend the following restaurants for Clearwater Beach. Shells, Gondolier Pizza, Frenchies Saltwater Cafe & Pickles Plus which is just past Clearwater Beach & right by Downtown Clearwater. Also if you feel like driving towards Indian Rocks Beach there is the origional Crabby Bills which is the best location out off all this restaurants & right by it only on another side street is P.J. Oyster Bar.

My bil/sil live in Clearwater so we visit the beach 3+ times a year. I second the recommendatinon for Frenchy's - any of them!!

IMHO the food is best at the saltwater location but we love the rockaway one as well because your right on the beach.

Tuscon's is a good pick. I can't say enough about any of the Frenchy's locations...simple, great food and atmosphere.

Island Way Grill has a great Sunday Brunch Buffet, about $20.00 per with lots of seafood, meats, omelets, Eggs Benedict and very well done, great views. All the Frenchys are super for casual food, music and beer. Salt Rock Grill is farther south, off Clearwater Beach. Be careful driving on Clearwater Beach, they have a "roundabout" that challenges the worst I've ever seen and that includes Mexico.

is frenchy's kid friendly. The one on the beach seems very convenient. i seen it last time we were there and wondered about it.
