cleanliness??

just wondering if any of you feel the need to run all of the silverware and dishes through the dishwasher when you arrive in a 1 , 2, or 3 bedroom villa before you use it?? have never stayed at"home" and am anticipating a 2 day stay at hh next week....hate to bug you over a dumb question but am curious.... thx a bunch

Of course, I have never been present to verify this, but I beleive housekeeping runs all the dishes through the dishwasher between guest. I still have the habit of looking at stuff before I use it. (my last dishwasher was the pits) I have never had a dirty fork yet at DVC.

We always run our dishes through the dishwasher, wherever we have stayed. Even if everything looks clean, there is something unappetizing about having someone who just finished cleaning the toilets putting your dishes away. (I'll admit we're a bit fanatical about cleanliness...)

Hmmm, I never even thought to do that. I did do a walk-thru around our 2-bedroom last November and everything (kitchen and appliances included) was very clean. If I had found something not up to par I might have looked at the utensils differently, but since everything else was spotless I must have assumed the silverware would be too.

They do wash the dishes as part of preparing the unit. However, I've been having the feeling that next time I might, just to be sure, run everything through the dishwasher again myself. You hear such stories about what people do!

We run the washing machine once empty (or with just towels) before putting any of our own stuff in there. Who knows if someone was just using it to dye their t-shirt red or something.

We never wash the dishes or utensils and never have any problems. I do inspect what I am using before i use it. We just returned from HH and everything seemed clean, but there did not appear to be as much stuff as in the Kicthen at OKW.
