Cleaning your KONG

Well, tried the "peanut butter in the kong" and the dog didn't go for it.


How in the WORLD do I get the peanut butter out???

C'mon, help me out here. I've got a peanut buttery kong in my sink.

Dishwasher. That's what we always do with ours. We've gotten the Kong food (like cheese in a can) and Aurora always leaves a little bit in there. The dishwasher takes care of it.

If you don't have a dish washer, I'd use a baby bottle brush to clean out the inside.

If your pooch didn't like the peanut butter, you can always just stash a couple of small biscuits in there.

Run hot water through it for a while, and then throw it in the dishwasher.

Its funny this question popped up today because our Kong had real issues. Lucy cannot simply clean out her Kong so I had to intervene. I had to resort to ramming a pencil into her Kong and that worked like a charm...seriously. Please note: I have no dishwasher and I need to use to crude methods.

Try filling it with other things. Maggie used to love leftover oatmeal, beef stew, even rice smooshed with bananas and/or applesauce. But then freeze it. Keeps them busy for a long time.

I agree....dishwasher!! If there is a lot left, I'd soak it, then rinse it and then run it through the dishwasher.

Hmmm, interesting! I had one of those for my malamute, but that's not what it was called. I can't remember now what it was called, it was such a long time ago.

I use the dishwasher. When we didn't have a dishwasher, I used an old toothbrush and hot water.

I can't believe your dog didnt like the peanut butter! I've never heard of a dog not liking peanut butter... hope you can find something else to make him happy
