Cleaning stove top

We recently purchased a new oven and I want to do my best to keep it clean. The oven is stainless steel and the stove top is black.
Unforunately I have a DH who loves to cook greasy bacon, sausage etc. and the grease gets everywhere.

He is not the best at wiping it away right away, so I am finding that I have grease spots that dont wipe up with a sponge and 409. Those areas of the stove top look dull and smugded compared to the cleaner areas.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good cleaner to get these stubborn areas to look brand new again and wont scratch?

Thanks!!

My husband ordered brushes once from Fuller Brush. They sent along some
"fulsol degreaser wipes" as a bonus. Now we buy them to use on our stove and the side burner/tray on our bbq. We must be on their email list because every year or so we get an email about a sale. We've also seen them on amazon.com

Get a cleaner made for ceramic top stoves and use it. Let the stovetop cool down, then apply and clean.

DH needs to start wiping up after he has cooked. Have a talk with him, show him the cleanser and how to use it.

Is it a glass top?? If it is, you want to go to Home Depot and find a product called CREMA BRITE. It's like a creamy gel that you spread on and let it dry then wipe it off with a wet paper towel. It does a really good job cleaning the glass top stove. If you still have baked on brown spots on the burners, a razor blade will remove them easily.

If it's not a glass top, I suggest using a microfiber cloth with water and a gentle cleaner (Dish soap)

I use Dawn on my stainless stovetop. We rarely cook bacon but there's plenty of grease on my stove. I think the key is daily cleanup. Then, I take a toothbrush coated with Dawn to it a couple times a week-the edges, creases. I also pool white vineagar on it in tough spots.

Greased Lightning. I get it by the gallon at Home Depot and use it on just about everything, including bathtub ring. It foams when it hits grease, so you spray it on and let it sit for about 10 minutes, and the grease boils off. Then you just need to wipe off the foam. (If the foam stays brown, wipe it and re-apply it to get the rest of the grease off.)

Thanks for tips! I will look for these products.
You would think after 22 years of marriage he would learn to clean up after himself! He does a decent job everywhere but the kitchen!

I  Greased Lightning!!!! That is my go to cleaner for tough jobs, especially the stove top!!!! After I am done with it on the stove top, I use Invisible Glass to make it totally streak-free. I buy that at Walmart in the Auto care section.
