Hi, we are planning a night or two in Hollywood on our vacation and I would like to find a safe, clean hotel within walking distance of Manns Theatre. Preferably something not too expensive, no more than $150 a night. I have been reading Tripadvisor but I was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestion :confused3

Thanks!

I would try the Rennaissance Hotel on Highland Ave. That may be out of your price range though, I'm not sure. That is really not a nice area of Hollywood though and I wouldn't want to get too far away if you don't have a car. I would say DON'T stay at the Travelodge on Sunset Blvd -- a friend of mine stayed there for a while and it was a DIVE!

Good luck!

Ariel :)

I second the recommendation for the Renaissance Hollywood. Very convenient place to stay. It's probably over $150 though. The cheaper hotels might not be in as nice of a location.

The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel is nice and a good choice. The Roosevelt Hotel is an old Hollywood Hotel and was the sight of the first Academy Awards. We stayed there once and it was less than $150, but that was before the renovation and it got a hip reputation with the likes of Lindsey Lohan. ;)

Not sure on any others that I would feel comfortable staying at. It is a rather seedy part of town for the most part. If you havent already, think about seeing the current Disney movie at the El Capitan and an ice cream sunday at the Disney Soda Fountain next door afterwards. You can get tickets online ahead of time and we really loved this.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I looked at the Renaissance but it's pushing $300 and thats out of our price range, same thing with the Roosevelt(where I would LOVE to stay). We are seriously looking at the Universal Hilton, it has gotten some pretty good reviews and most importantly, it looks clean!

Expedia has the Roosevelt for $225 for October 11, 2006. I think thats about when you are going according to your ticker. If you really want to stay there call them up directly and see what kind of a deal they can do. Its really far in advance which will work in your favor. Tell the reservationist how MUCH you want to stay there and that you belong to AAA and have an Entertainment Book (you can always buy one if you need it).

Expedia lists the Magic Castle Hotel that has three stars and is two blocks from Graumann's. I have never been there and I am not familiar with it, but that is a good rating. It is $159.00.

The Best Western Hollywood Hills also has three stars and the pictures look decent. It is $135.00.

The Universal Hilton is $179.00 on Expedia, so you wouldn't be saving much to stay there instead of the Roosevelt if thats where you would prefer. :teeth: Just helping you rationalize it. It would be very fun the next time you picked up a copy of People and read about Lindsey Lohan and Nicole Richie lounging by the pool or spending the evening with friends in the bar that you could say...HEY! I was there! ;)
