"Classic" WDW Restaurants

The Concourse Steakhouse R.I.P.

:sad::sad::sad:

I used to go there two or three nights a week after work for dinner. I loved watching the monorails going by, and they had good food and good service. It was kind of like my own "Cheers" - everyone knew my name. I would have dinner, go out and view the fireworks from the parking lot, then head for home. There were a lot of good, long time, CM's there that really made it a special place.

Of the restaurants still operating, I would say CRT would give a good traditional Disney feeling, if we're talking about a nostalgic, when they first opened, Disney feeling. CP would be another good choice. For me, the Plaza Restaurant is a good example, because it hasn't changed much, so it's the same experience now as it was many years ago.

The Epcot restaurants have changed a lot over the years, and they didn't have the same feel as the MK restaurants in the first place. To me, DHS and AK are too new to feel like traditional Disney.

I went to WDW for the first time in the 70s and we couldn't afford more than a counter service meal. While it was a fine meal, I don't have a special spot for it. But we started going more often to WDW in the 90s and beyond and my favorite restaurant is Columbia Harbour House. It just screams classic Disney TO ME :)

It really was "Classic Disney" I was an adult but loved the little kids monorail put together menus so much I got one to take home. Still love CR but it is just not the same, cannot find CM's that I know anymore and have been going with my family since opening.
