Just wondering if anyone on these boards has stayed there since the name change. I read on tripadvisor that there is all new bedding...is that true? What else can you tell me about facilities and scheduled transportation to the parks? Anyone have a transportation schedule for this hotel?

Are you asking about the Clarion LBV that's at 8442 Palm Pkwy?

We stayed there last Oct and I thought it was very nice, especially for the rate we got ($307 for 7 nights). I think it was recently refurbed - we had a fridge, microwave, and free wifi. The bed and furniture looked new, but it's not like I pulled off the sheets to check. The layout is a bit spread out, so that your room could be a bit of a walk to the main building where the lobby/restaurant is. I can't comment on the bus or pools as we didn't use them.

It was in the DTD area so traffic was a bit of a pain, but it was super easy to drive to Universal (just go north on Palm).

oops...yes that is what I meant and have edited to reflect change. (Sorry I was writing that and trying to talk to someone at the same time.)
And...thanks for the info. We are paying $40/night Easter week.

We stayed there in November & I was very impressed for the price! Cheapest hotel I have ever stayed in and I am VERY particular! I tried it because the reviews were good and it was recently renovated so I figured it could not be too bad. The rooms were nicely furnished. They have security checking who enters at gate 24 hours, so I liked that. Nice pool & splash area for kids. We stayed on side facing parking lot so we did not have interstate noise I had read about. We did not eat there or use any of their transportation as we drove but we were able to get to DTD & the parks very easily. I would definitely stay there again. :yay:

Remember that Clarion and Comfort are still the same company, only different "classes" of resorts, similar to Disney's value, moderate and deluxe resort structure.

The Chioce Hotels chain includes:

Sleep Inn (value)
Comfort Inn & Quality Inn (moderates)
Clarion Inn and Cambria Inn (Deluxe)

Then they also now own Rodeway Inn, Econolodge, Mainstay Suites, and Suburban Inns/suites.

Just to clear any confusion, this used to be the Comfort Inn, not Comfort Suites. You can find lots of reviews here for the Comfort Inn LBV.

I stayed here a few years ago. It's been upgraded, so hopefully it's better. Main thing to ask for is a parking lot side room. The rooms that face the interstate get lots of road noise.

Do you mind me asking where you got that fab rate?

We stayed here before. The value of the cost per night was great! The location is pretty good for driving to the parks.
I felt this hotel was very noisy due to interstate traffic and pool activity.

Yep. I got a rate of $45/night with bookit.com and then they were offering an additional $5 off per night with a special sale they had a couple weeks ago. I think it will be a good place to try. Certainly more economical than Pop Century running about $165/night for our dates over Easter!:thumbsup2

Just checked bookit site and they have this Clarion for $49/night through Sept. 30th.

A suggestion: check choicehotels.com for the price. If it is more than what you paid, and you can still cancel for free, cancel and book w/ choicehotels.com. Then within 24 hrs, you can send them the link showing the cheaper price, and you can get that price less 10%. That's what I did when I stayed there when it was the Comfort Inn. I had found a TravelZoo special for 39.99. I booked thorugh Choice and sent the the website showing the TravelZoo rate using Choice's Best Rate Guaranteed program, and they reduced my rate to 35.99.

Now, this was back in I think 2005, so verify on the Choice site that they still offer the Best Rate thing.

For anyone considering this hotel...today is the last day you can book the hotel using a double coupon code of BKTH10. That is how I got it for $409/night.

Keep your eye on Travelosity.. We booked for Easter week 22-29th and got a $27 night rate..That was a 48 hr sale. They were at $49 when friends just booked. They run many specials. They also have a buy 3 days get 4 days free park hopper package deal going on too.
